Everyone keeps recommending this to me but i couldn't even finish chapter 1 because the author made the MC call himself a "housewife"... one of my biggest pet peeves :(
I'm an asian gay man. In my personal life, feminine terms like "girlfriend" "wife" "mom" are too often used to degrade a guy, to mock gay couples, and to enforce gender stereotype on gay people in general. So i have too many negative associations with those words. Aside from that, i do think that authors should stop normalizing using those words when depicting gay relationship because it does encourage gender normativity and role stereotype in some ways.
So.... minegishi has a fat fetish?
clearly you didn't even actually read the manga. minegishi concerns himself with otsu's health so many times and he also very clearly doesn't have a fat fetish. do you even know what fetish means?!?! its just a dude that likes to see his crush eating things he bought or made for him and he likes them the way they are
Would've liked it more if there's less (or no) gender normativity... like, why train them to be basically maids just because they're omega? Why call the candidates brides/wives instead of grooms/husbands when they're all male? BL authors needs to stop using gender normative terms on gay couples, seriously...
This is so freakin beautiful what the fuck. I can't. The writing is so damn good? The reveal, the resolution, and the ending... everything is done unbelievably well i wanna scream. Did the author really do that in just 7 chapters? Jesus i've read plenty of 70+ chaptered webtoons with less than a quarter of substance this manga has.
[Spoiler]
The fact that the merman chose kiyo eventhough he was a man and wouldn't be able to help him die?
The fact that the merman purposefully went away for 60 years just so kiyo could find a new love thus breaking the immortality spell, but kiyo still stayed faithful and was even worried of the merman being alone the whole time??
THAT FREAKIN DIALOGUE IN THE SEA where kiyo said he'd live a second longer than the merman so that he wouldn't feel lonely?????????????
I'm dying this manga is SO beautiful. Deserves 10/10, seriously.

I reread this after so long and i still couldn't understand oujirou's dad and his wife at all. Like how the hell did they come into decision to throw away a human being? Why was the wife okay with it? Why did the kid suddenly wake up? Was he drugged before or what? Why did the dad suddenly come into his senses after years of being a piece of shit? Confusion. Good manga tho.
It's not his mom. It's his step mom.
But I agree with you. Human are not trash. And I don't know why the boy couldn't move either
The dad was probably the one who wanted to throw the child away and probably threatened the step-mom to throw her own kid away. He wasn't drugged I believe, but there was no indication he was drugged they said he just didn't wake up and thought the child was broken. He woken up when he heard yelling but he probably has problems with his legs because he couldn't seem to stand nor walk properly so that could also be a reason why he wanted to throw away the child. The author probably didn't want to cause too much drama and just did a quick fixer upper, but the dad is still an ass, but apparently he's fixing his behavior.
