I would agree but they already breached that waaaay back in the beginning. Like we have jump skipped to there being subtle hints of togetherness and confessions (he confessed in high school too) so they are passed the point of any potential friendship ruining. That excuse doesn’t work for me. I’m not asking them to bang, I understand the censorship, but Xian is literally going ham on He Tian and Mo and then giving nothing but the same recycled energy with these two every chapter and it’s been YEARS. I’m allowed to be tired okay.

Definitely think he killed his dad since usually in these scenarios you look to blame others when you can’t handle the weight of such traumatic events/memories (thus the surpression). “Of course you’d be a likely candidate, it’s within the bounds of your character, I’d never hurt my loved ones.” Thoughts like these prevent introspection around what actually occurred because it’s too much to bear.
I also like what the other commenter suggested around Jinwoo being the issue here. Like he somehow started the chain reaction of events in the world and we just don’t know how (memory is the missing link) but I’d even push it a step further and tie in the authors tag about unrequited love. The title is Hounds of Sisyphus. Either Jinwoo is making Guwon pay for something with an eternal life by having stitched him back together (if those aren’t tattoos as I’ve previously theorized) and this would explain his resurrected toddler state of relearning and fixation on protecting the town/sexing up Jinwoo. Or Jinwoo is being punished for trying to bring back his dead mother whose death he couldn’t handle and in doing so fucked everything up and is now being punished and Guwon is the hound sent to him (one track mind/unrequited love style.)

Anyone that’s lost a pet can relate I’m sure, but though they weren’t dogs I’ve lost some buns in recent years and I had similar thoughts/reactions when they passed. I kept thinking “please know I love you, please know I’m sorry, if you stay I’ll do better, I wish I could have done better, you were so precious to me and I hope you know that, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do if you go.”
So I really cried reading this part in the novel and again seeing it here. It’s so difficult having something you put so much love into and accepted so much love from go when you aren’t ready. I don’t really even think it gets better, you just get better at living with the loss.
