I think at a certain point he realised he didnt like rian just because she reminded him of his sister. It's just an excuse for his feelings at this point, as the bartender implied. At first he gave her leeway because she reminded him of cecilia, but at this point it's developed past that, he just has yet to fully realise it.

You know, Art's hatred of Lucas Wykes is a little...harsh. I mean, Lucas was...what? 10? 12? Considering Arthur was 9 during the examination, and I figure theyre around the same age. Nonetheless, he's an *actual* child when he screws the party over, meanwhile Arthur's an elderly man who just happens to be in the body of a child. I feel like he glossed over the fact Lucas was just an over confident, previously neglected, inexperienced, bratty kid. He freaked out. I mean maybe his militant background makes betrayal seem especially bad, but damn.
And yeah I get that Lucas might do stuff in the future, but I mean arthur's hatred in response to the elderwood guardian incident specifically, not anything to do with how he treats Tess later on.
And yeah I know Arthur eventually kills Lucas, because he does some sketch shit, but it wouldve been nice if he had been redeemed. Or was at least a bit more fleshed out lol. Its certainly novel, having the protagonist actually kill a minor antagonist, but in this case I wouldve preferred a redemption.

ur kinda right but u have to think abt that society is different from like yanno real life and like kids that age were willingly training and going on dangerous missions n shit so the fact that lucas not only left them for dead but he literally trapped them in there and blasted arthur so he was really hurt. bc he was cocky n selfish he took away from the possibility of them living and he literally left bc he knew they were gonna die so he again trapped them so he could escape knowing what could happen. that and he he no remorse afterwards as u can see, young or not the standards there r different regardless of age

Yeah I get that, but I still feel like Art judged him too harshly, as someone from a different world anyway, and as an actual adult. Imo Lucas just deserved better, his story's just so sad to me :(
Born to an elf slave and a rich noble? So much room for angst. Clearly has self worth issues and insecurities to top it off. Would've preferred if his father ended up being an antagonist and killed or smthn, feel like Lucas wouldve been great for the enemy to friend role, instead of his older brother.
I'm just a bit bitter because there was so much potential with his character, he was even introduced (at least in the comic) as sorta the third part of a trio/potential rival. But tbate is great at demolishing expectations. ╮( ̄u ̄)╭

Bet she's a dragon lol, or some sort of horned mythical beast.

yeah but in the sense of this story, where livestock are generally common, I wouldnt figure a goat would be considered mythical. I mean "rare". Dragons were listed as the top of the triangle of rarity in this story, meanwhile average animals(such as livestock and herbivores) seem to be a lot more common, and less powerful. Unless its a special type of goat, I doubt she'll be a goat.
Aren't they only four years apart??
