They match each others freak we well. I feel like they’re always someone in the relationship that’s has more of a people pleasing self-loathing complex who gives in on their boundaries for the other persons sake but with this they’re so well synced/on the same level in a way I can’t explain. I love that they found each other at a low and instead of focusing on fixing each other they just grew better together. Maybe their relationship didn’t start out a healthy way but I would say it was toxic in a healthy way if that makes sense?

I remember reading this when it was being updated and thinking it was such a shame it was ruined because of fan service. Now when I binge read this years later I still think about how good it could’ve been, how much potential it could’ve reached as a compete work. The main things I think were:
- Samuel getting off when James was speaking about his past on their allians mission which mainly felt like forced fan service
- Them making out before making it so safety and being caught by Rugal (just a commonly used irritating situation), also a type of service
- Brett being with a high schooler (minor), I feel like they could’ve aged up or aged down either if them to be more appropriate since everyone important had fake identities anyways
But mostly:
- Samuel feeling James up before freeing him from the chair Rugal tied him to and SA’d him, this is where is felt the line to the typical quality reducing fan service you can turn a blind eye to was crossed (this is when the overall impression of the work is noticeably damaged)
- The Rugal James SA scene in the EXTRAS…completely unnecessary to the story since it was already over and I honestly don’t even think this can be justified as ”sketchy” fan-service, it’s just bellow acceptable and disgusting. The way it was followed up by James dismissing it, Samuel moving on and getting intimate immediately after, and Rugal having absolutely zero consequences and it being framed like he was ”doing them a favor by letting go so they can live in peace” is so contrary quality wise to how the series started and even carried through almost to the end. The fact that it was also the last chapter/s makes it even worse as it leaves a negative impact on the overall impression after finishing the series.
The plot was good, promising, things were suspenseful but also making sense and adding up in a beautifully crafted way at the end so it’s really such a shame it turned out this way.

Dropped ar ch. 21. I’m either dumb or disgusted or both cuz did ML really send back that grapey sponsor to that poor boy and kept MC distracted after promised to stay the night and keep the boy safe? I know ML is traumatized and a bit wicked but I really did think he got some kind of respect for consent since he seems to have a been a SA victim when he was younger. I’m just disgusted and disappointed and dropping this cuz it’s unforgivable imo and not something I can see past personally, I really hope I’ve just misunderstood. I know he (the younger guy who MC sees like a little brother) ”exaggerated” to make him stay but I think it was very obvious that whatever was going to happen before MC stepped in was not consensual and just a dreadful experience of a toxic relationship built on SA. Really didn’t expect this based on the high rating and comments.

Are we sure Lister doesn’t have severe memory problems too? He abuses MC and treats him awful but is confused when MC doesn’t react like he’s treating him with anything but kindness and goodwill out of his heart. I also think he’s the one who caused MC’s memory loss and that the sister knows about it but feels to powerless to interfere (or it somehow was for their best interest), I don’t think she truly knows to which extent he’s abusing him to though. I feel like MC had a respected/powerful noble like character in the past and I know he himself is convinced of his punishment but I don’t fully understand why Gjord doesn’t just take him away to protect him. I know he knows he’s being abused and that MC hides it as much as possible but it also feels like Gjord doesn’t know who (Lister) is abusing him and I don’t get why it’s hard to figure out? Overall good story, very promising.

SPOILERS
I think he probably has inferiority complex? Because MC had a higher status than Lister, and now their ranking of status switched.. Plus, since he likes him (assuming eversince they were kids), he got mad that he didn’t get to have MC. And I also think he has some mental issues.. like no way you’re happy that the person you love is afraid of you,, So you take that to your advantage
But! All soon will be revealed in the future, these are just my thoughts ><

Am I the only one who thought the whole Rachel thing was going to have way more… impact? All this build up with turning MC’s brother and chasing MC, her being a higher level than other vampires and swearing to kill MC. At the end she sends a message about dying before the ”party” (it’s implied she planned) and where it leaves with some kind of interpretation if maybe she was dying anyways? I didn’t understand that part at all. She was killed way to easily and quickly. At first I thought maybe she possessed the infected colleague (showing a new level of vampire development level) but the colleague says she just lost control. The whole event, or its meaning for MC, was overshadowed by ML being bitten and whether he would survive or not. Based on nothing (maybe the fact that he survived almost turning 3 times) I kinda thought MC might have some special blood but turns out it was ML (which is cool I guess), because the grandfather impregnated his own child (ML’s mother AND sister) which was also moved on from way to quickly to get to that happy ending and wrap up the story. I liked the story and the main couple as characters, I just think the ending was a bit of a let down. (Kind thought Rachel would go after ML instead of MC like ”planned”, but maybe too cliche?).

I stopped reading around ch 115-ish because it was just too toxic (I know that’s the point of the plot and character development) and I just got anxious reading every update and feeling bad for them both with no sign of anything getting better - sometimes even worse. When I stopped reading they had been through the ”one sided like - mutual like - you hate me - I hate you - one sided like etc…” at least 2-3 times so does it get any better for them? I do think it is a well written story and I am interested in finishing it but I just want them and the dog to be okay.
