Sometimes these stories drag on wayyyyyy too long. Just cut it off and stop dangling that shit on the last hair.

The way Mr. Jeong complimented how he looked in his new glasses made me so happy! It is a contrast between what he thought of him in the beginning of this story vs now.

This story could have been good but it was not.

The mom's legs were as open as a field. The grandma was as unbothered as could be. The uke gave up on creating music even though he was talented but had no reputation. The Seme was caught up in his family's dirty dealings and wasted his early youth. This was a complete mess. Nothing was accomplished, and no one improved. The grandma leaves the kid with two strange men who could be into anything or do anything to her. She did no background check, home inspection, or job inquiries before she handed the little girl over to them.
What the actual hell?

i don't see why the mother's open sexual relations made the story any less significant - if anything, it kind of drove the whole nuance of human character and grief thing of the story. touma's situation was briefly explained (altho they should've spent way more time on that than the extensive dialogues about yakuza dealings that added nothing to the plot), and i think him getting things together and choosing a family/settlement was made more impactful by the difficulty of his past. i think sentaro made the right decision for himself in the end - valuing what he believed to be his artistic integrity and legacy over fame/reputation/recognition. it's a hard pill to swallow, but it shows the reality of corporate life, the entertainment industry, and success as an adult. not everyone gets to win at their dreams. again, this COULD'VE been explored more. the only thing i reaally agree with u on is the grandma, but again, i think a lot of it was sort of left up to interpretation. maybe ririko told her more ab these guys and that gave her some trust, maybe its just a general plot device insignificant in the grand scheme of the message the manga was trying to put out. either way, i still think it's a very good story and it's honestly a lot better than a LOTT of the manga/hwa/hua ive seen on this site, esp ones that include queer relationships.

To be honest wirh you, it’s sadly way too common for someone to have dreams but life blocks the accomplishment. Criminal histories are also common. Plus, I can kind of understand the grandma. Shes tired and old, the last thing an old person who has went through life wants to do is take care of a child. She is only following what was in the will. That’s all. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

You're correct but it's called "Dysfunctional family therapy" for a reason after all so I guess it's living up to it's name.
The uke's life was sad because he always lived as someone's shadows by becoming their ghostwriter, never gained recognition for his own work and later ended up being unemployed and doing a job that he doesn't like.
The seme never had anything he could call a happy family since his childhood, his youth was wasted on his family's dirty dealings and jail.
Also the kid literally gets isolated by her kindergarden friends. Isolation is a form of bullying. She also gets teased a lot for having no mother and father. Getting misunderstood by her same age kids must be traumatic for her. Her mother was probably the most happy person in the whole world. Birthing a kid and never taking responsibility of her. Exploring the world before she dies while she left her child to the grandmother. She had the happiest life out of all of them.
So the title makes sense in a way I guess...

They always explain away the lack of affection with, “I'm not the type to do/say that so easily”… He is your partner, your childhood friend, your HS sweetheart, you know how he would respond. If you don't say or be affectionate with him who else would you act that way towards? The seme was so present and responsive with the uke even when he was busy job hunting as well. They were in the same boat so the ukes excuse doesn't seem all that compelling.

Ahhjjjh I love them no matter how many times I come back here.

Also, I am pretty sure Umino and Takanaka are together. They were giving signs at the graduation, and their demeanor towards one another had changed. I believe Umino’s feelings got across!

Absolutely adore everything about them together ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

I enjoyed how the anime pieced together these short chapters and built a well thought out story.

Aww, it was not long ago that Hazuki was in a tizzy over not being as experienced with kids as Naoto-san. Now, he is handling them like a pro. That is growth right there.
