Man, I remember liking this years ago because Iike a good maid story to break up my villainesses and vengeful nobles but I dropped midway because I just couldn’t see her ability assisting long term. Like, you give me these cool dream people who honestly seem WAY MORE INTERESTING than the FL herself, then give her heightened skills that she DOESN’T GET TO KEEP. And then she gets recognition for it. Like… huh?
It’s a ticking time bomb disaster waiting to happen alongside the political plot that is actually relevant to her.

What do you mean “why would they target and try to drug me?” GIRL, YOUR MOTHER WARNED YOU OF THIS! YOU ARE THE HEIRESS OF A POWERFUL FAMILY AND PEOPLE WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!
And also these stupid guards and the maid. Her lady was clearly getting protectively escorted out. If she was getting attacked or threatened, he would not have lead her out the FUCKING FRONT DOORS. And if you had that many guards, where were you when the two actual perpetrators were screaming their heads off when they were getting killed?! This is ridiculous and absurd!
It is hilarious that she probably drank an entire barrel of probably drugged juice and her body just metabolised that shit though.

I just can’t with the FL’s attempt at friendship XD I just can’t help but think it’s just so obvious she has an agenda with it. Tbf, I think other characters would go along with it anyway (like her brother) because it’s also obvious her agenda is harmless compared to everyone else in the story, busy politicking and scheming.
But you aren’t as slick as you think you are, girl.

I love my “developing my unusual hobby” isekai stories as I don’t think there’s enough of them, but I really get frustrated when it gets to a point where the MC gets so engrossed in it that they start becoming a burden to those around them and don’t think of the long-term consequences of leaving their problems for future-them until it’s too late.
In five years, she has not resolved how she’s going to explain to her family the status of their family heirloom sword. She has not thought of how she’s going to circumvent the issue of her inheriting the family legacy when she has stated she has no intention to and will straight up ditch the family and all who care for her. She has repeatedly put herself in harms way for her rice and has relied on luck and other people to bail her out. Just now, she was so blind to her surroundings that she got herself lost running after a ginseng and ditching her pet, even though she considers him ‘family’.
Like, I know the story tried to explain it as a genetic trait of her bloodline to be super single-minded to the point of having a short life-expectancy but this is ridiculous.
Unlike Ascendence of a Bookworm, Myne has eventually come to think of other people aside from her books even though she still holds onto her dreams. This girl, aside from thinking “I’ll just not interact with the villain of the story”, has not thought of anyone but herself.

I don't think those "problems" are that serious, though? Farming and her family legacy are not mutually exclusive if it turns out that rice will be revealed as the key element to "tame" the beasts (which has been getting heavily hinted so far): her family's legacy is the mission to keep beasts under control, yet it seems beasts and rice have some kind of connection, since rice became "extinct" because it attracted beasts, making humans want to get rid of all the rice around so that the beasts would stay away from them.

Yes, but that’s a big IF. And even if it turns out to be the case, the FL is not thinking about that at all. If it does turn out that way, it’ll be quite the stroke of luck for our FL that rice is literally the solution to all her problems but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating that she’s not focused on addressing them at all.
Now that she’s fifteen, she has to fulfil her promise to her mother to do her best at her heiress lessons, which means it’s clearly more than fighting, and she literally got 0 in everything but farming. Girl, are you even TRYING? Reminder that if she does shit, her farming rights are gonna be rescinded before she gets those seeds back to life.
I’ll need to reread some parts though. Other than the legend that the rice was thrown out because demons were rumoured to love them and that’s why they appear as a drop on monsters, I don’t remember where it was implied it was needed to tame them. Literally the monster she beat up came back as her pet and doesn’t give a shit about the seeds either.

Lol, no need to reread. It was never spelled out (just hints that I thought were too many to be a coincidence). I think I get more what you mean, now. I just think stuff will work itself out, particularly if she shows her parents that she's not gonna be just some random average farmer (which is most probably why her mother is against it), but an actual huge farming tycoon who will even end up dominating that country's whole economy (an outcome that would reinforce and even raise her status as heiress and future head of the family, instead of going against it). We know how FLs never fail nor achieve just a mediocre or even average degree of success in their chosen trade business, they often do so well that they end up becoming top figures in their societies.

Yeah, she’s definitely going to unlock whatever big historical secret rice has which resulted in it being thrown out and made an extinct crop. It’s gonna have to do with monsters and it’ll probably revolutionise the defunct act of monster taming. Her monster-slaying family will then turning into a monster-taming family, maybe help that King of Monsters (if she even cares about that since she’s TRYING [and failing] to avoid all main characters of the OG story unless it pertains to her goal) and she’ll be a heroine to the eyes of others.
I just don’t quite yet know how to feel about the way the story is framing it as her oppsie-daisying her way to more or less saving the world :/

Yeah, seems she's just going to win everyone over with her "moron ness" haha. Yep, it is one of those mc's... She's probably not gonna be "aged mentally-wise" until she becomes a full adult (in my head, I can't see her as "15 years old", I imagine her as "8 yeard old" max). I mostly read "silly" stories like this as counterpoint and balance to "deflate" after stories like "I will fall with the emperor" (super heavy plot) but I understand what you mean.

I thought it was a weird moment when the FL was getting flustered about trying to make excuses for why the ML might not be the killer. I know they tried to frame it as a romantic moment but I was just like “maybe because you should be unbiased as a lawyer/detective who is only basing your prime suspect on a STORY BLURB”. If there is a sliver of doubt in your theory, instead of wondering if you caught feelings you should be chasing that up to see if it means anything. She said she was pretty highly renowned, right?
Then again, I guess as a lawyer, you really only need to build a case on one side, right? If she’s decided that her ML is the killer, he’s the killer and she’ll build a case for it.
Let’s not forget that the Elder was willing to ‘look the other way’ for Neisse to instigate stuff just shy of breaking the pact. He’s just as guilty and I hope they realise that too and call him out.
Frustratingly though, I doubt that’ll happen even if he should be responsible for his pack’s actions as elder.
