For just a split second, I was mildly concerned that our MC was just gonna keep the ladies in their luxurious house and treat them like delicate queens even though they are still pretty strong women who also wanna get out there and fight and help him out.
But no, few pages later, he just lets them come along with no hassle and was only keeping them at home because he needed to work to get them actual gear beforehand. And you know what? That’s pretty level headed and reasonable; they were out of the field for a while and are pretty rusty. Beating up shitty men with your bare hands is a much easier time than beating up orcs with no weapon. Good on him.

I was looking for this series for the longest time after forgetting the title. Seeing the younger sister slowly realise the position she coveted from her sister was actually a VERY TOXIC WORKPLACE is great karma. And I await the day where Amelia’s ex will also slowly realise that his seemingly gloomy and incompetent ex who never got any if her own personal work done was actually being stifled by terrible work colleagues and he let and amazing person go.
Still though, Amelia is finally in a positive workplace but she is still upholding unhealthy work mindsets DESPITE knowing that the standards her old place had were not good. Thomas is a saint but the way she keeps trying to insist on more work despite Thomas saying there’s none is banter I do NOT enjoy. Someone needs to explain to her that it’s not necessarily the AMOUNT of time you work that dictates your usefulness, but moreso the amount of work you ACTUALLY GOT DONE. If you finished your list of chores, YOU DID GOOD WORK, GIRL. YOU ARE NOT SLACKING FOR FINISHING EARLY.
Thomas is so much nicer than me. If I gave her an order to take a break then learn she went to other employees trying to get more work from them behind my back, I would’ve been like “you’re really insistent in disobeying the one order I gave, huh?”
But again, is difficult to break a habit in top of that she kinda has low self esteem towards her work cuz of her ex coworkers
I love a hard-working MC but when they become workaholics who push their bodies way past their limits and them ignore all their loved ones’ pleas to take a break lest they get sick or injured or collapse, I get super annoyed. It feels like their worry gets trampled on as unimportant and then the MC sort of sighs with annoyance at how they have all these caretakers buzzing around them.
Earlier or mid-series in the series, Chitra got called out as “self-destructive” because she had to strengthen herself quickly to the point where she adopted some rather unhealthy habits for a regular human and refuses to be vulnerable for even her close circle. Radelk softly assuages her little crisis and let her cry but I feel like she took that comment to heart and just worked harder to hide any sort of human weakness she might have and that’s INFURIATING to me. She collapsed from overwork but keeps trying to sneak out to do something ‘productive’. I just finishes the Phib sparring event and she brushes off Phib’s worry because she pulled out all the stops to fight him, taxing her own body, but then flies off the handle that Phib’s wrist is injured and he didn’t address it and I’m like “POT CALLING KETTLE BLACK HERE?!”

As a recovering workaholic, the struggle to stop and rest is extremely real and difficult, and it's unfortunately super easy to get upset at others getting hurt but at the same time you're sort of numb and blind to your own self destructive actions on an emotional level :') For me personally I guess it's because I was highly anxious and the act of resting felt like relinquishing what little control I had in my life, not realising that not doing so would actually give me less. It's a type of mental illness imo, and a symptom of something deeper. Just like with any addiction.
I wish I'd had someone in my life to call me out on it though, so I can't really relate to that part lmao
Once again hating the damn angel who popped their souls in the wrong body which resulted in them being alienated for a good portion of their life and would’ve resulted in Camilla’s death. Even though they said they’d make it up to them, it still sucks.
It’s a good thing there are a few people who were immune to it apparently, like our lovely blonde girl here. It’s just unfortunate it was only for a brief period.

Popping out at chapter 78. And by “her” I don’t mean Ash. I mean did Klein love Ithika in a romantic sense? Because Ash is making this claim that Klein and Cesaer are related by blood and Cesaer is Ithika’s blood sibling and Klein wanted to marry her? Is Klein not aware of their blood relation (because Ash also wondered if Klein was like… an illegitimate child) and he’s accidentally fallen into the incest hole?
