Me too. Because I feel uncomfortable with main characters that are students drinking or smoking. Especially when good students have a secret bad habit. The contrast between good student and bad habits feel icky to me like they may be secretly a red flag. It would have been different if it was a classic delinquent who's upfront about it.

Ok so I red parts of the novel. And I’ve got mixed feelings, lemme explain. So obviously the manga takes parts out of the novel to save time, money, and effort. But it’s also because they can only pick and choose what to put in. There are many random interesting facts and stories that are intentionally left out because they aren’t as important to the story. Small stories like how MC and ML have a morning jog at the hospital that eventually turns into a competition to see who can out run the other, they both get super tired lol. Or the fact that the ML has never had any romantic experiences meaning he is a super pure boy (this is actually brought up in the novel when ML calls himself handsome but the manga intentionally leaves this info out). As a result, many manga readers will never know this which is super disappointing. In addition, what gives me mixed feelings, is the fact the these short stories and facts that could add so much to the dynamic of the main couple are traded for like two or four chapters of wet dreams that don’t actually happen in the actual novel and don’t really add much in anything, you might be able to tell, but the random appearance of a watch for dreams of the future that wasn’t mentioned at all before was a bit random and that is because it kinda was(this was never a thing in the novel). I’m really hoping that artist-san doesn’t try to add more random items that change story for more sex scenes as the actual story is so good and absolutely amazing without it. Artist-san has generally followed the plot pretty much almost to a tea somewhat. But I’m hoping this is a one time thing cause I don’t want the story to be constantly changing from the original source.

The smut scene does actually happen in the novel side story, but in my opinion, the way it got shown so early in the webtoon is a really terrible choice.

First thing first, it removed a great deal of stakes in the original novel. It's even more so during the climax of the story where you have absolutely no idea where the story will go. The introduction of a watch that showed you pretty much the ending of the series really ruined this.

Secondly, it changed some of the scenes where it was supposed to be more grim in the original novel. Now instead of Jihan just feeling upset and frustrated over knowing what Yoon Seo had gone through, the webtoon made Jihan also got distracted by his wet dream, which is super out of place in the story.

Finally, I really like how the novel built the growing relationship between Yoon Seo and Jihan. It's paced nicely and doesn't happen in one day. In fact, at this point in the novel, neither of them are completely sure of their feelings towards each other. They were still at the stage of getting familiar with each other. This whole smut scene unneccessarily sped up the process and making both too aware of each other too soon.

Honestly, the inclusion of the smut scenes truly highlights what is wrong with BL webtoon culture as a whole, where good stories are often watered down by so many unneccessary smut. It's as though it's trying to tell me that they can't sell any of these without them. I get that most people looking for BL are into the horny stuff, so I can't blame the creators. It's just that after reading so many smut scenes, they never stick with me for long unlike really good stories like this webtoon. To me, good stories transcent any smut scenes. It's a shame others don't think the same to the point the artist needed to shoehorn smut into a story that doesn't need it.

It is a spoiler. I will try to make it as vague as I can.

Basically, near the end of the series, you can't tell whether the story is going to end tragic or not. The comment section is filled with people worried about the fate of the characters. The future watch is basically a spoiler telling you in advance that it's going to be a happy ending.

Omg really. That’s sounds so thrilling. I wish we would get that too. All well, what can you do about a BL manga that wants to have yaoi (￣ε(#￣)Σ

The novel is easily 10/10. Highly recommend it. Only downside is it does hinder my enjoyment of the webtoon. Not to say the webtoon is bad. There are some scenes, especially the fighting scenes that the webtoon does better than the novel, but everything else, the novel is superior.

If my memory serves me right, the ‘wet dream’ part wasn’t explicitly described like it was in the ‘mature version’ of the manhwa.

To be honest, in the novel, it was a super slow burn, and the smex scenes were only included in the extra chapters, and there weren’t even that many.

I think the author originally intended this to be shounen-ai and was maybe pressured into adding yaoi scenes, so they only included them in the extra chapters. Lol.

Glad I'm not the only one disliking the sex scenes. I don't even read the novel so I never knew this wasn't in the source material. Tbh I'm reading this for the plot so at this point in time where they still lasers focused on the dungeon raid lore it's bothering me that they showrd this future sex scene so suddenly. I like their slow burn relationship sm they should've let the tension building gradually like the novel. I love yearning, enduring love type of story better than sex scenes for the sake of it

I'm not gonna lie and say I despise smut scene. It's just that the best kind of smut, in my opinion, is the type that has sufficient build up for it. The way it was done in this webtoon is the opposite of that. It was sudden and unnecessary. It was very different with the novel where there was an actual build up leading to it.

Also random but I really disliked it when uke kissed while being possessed. Like I know they are different forms of uke just of different times but nah. It was basically seme kissing someone else, and that annoyed the hell outa me, almost made my blood boiling nlg.(⌒▽⌒)

Not to mention the way they acted, they were all clingy and desperate for sex and stuff, completely different from uke. And so I was like ew and seme went along with all of them almost T-T

Oh, absolutely....so damn true. That (past)seme never loved the uke. All that talk about "eternal love," "forever yours," and all that other flowery bullshit? Just empty words. Pathetic, really. He said he’d love the uke for all eternity—and then what? Tossed him aside the moment it got hard. All it took was that bitch, and he folded like nothing ever mattered. He had kids with her. Lived with her. Played family like he didn’t just destroy someone who loved him with everything they had.

The worst part? Past uke truly believed him. Gave him everything. And ended up broken because of that coward. It’s sickening.

He doesn't need him. Not now. Not ever. That pathetic excuse of a man isn’t worth even a flicker of regret. The uke deserved better. Someone real. Someone who would’ve chosen him no matter what. Who wouldn’t have faltered the second temptation showed up.
And in the next life? I hope he finds someone who will love him so fiercely, so unapologetically, that the memory of that bastard will feel like dust under his feet. Because that’s all he ever was—dust. Forgettable. Replaceable. And most of all?

Unworthy.

They don’t say it directly but it is heavily implied that he played family and went along with the wims of whatever the his family and that bitch he married wanted to “protect” uke(again, from what bitch). Those duties would include continuing the bloodline as seen in one of the flashbacks. Omg I’m actually gonna be a demon at this point with how much rage I have for him.

I feel like a-lot of everyone’s comments are missing the fact that she threatened the ukes family if he did that follow through with the wedding.

I understood that she threatened uke family but I also understood that he made a promise to past uke and should have been prepared to make sacrifices both for himself and uke because that is exactly what uke was prepared to do as a promise. he said he would fulfill this promise and mind you, this would decide what happens between them forever. So from what I think the story is trying to tell me is that seme made the supposedly “better, smarter, and safer” choice of abandoning uke so that uke family is protected but not uke’s wellbeing (as in mentally and physically if you couldn’t tell from the story). Seme said he didn’t even have the courage to face him in person. the logic just ant making sense to me.
