At least I'm not seeing people continuing to defend Ian in the comments anymore. This man's PTSD does not give him the right to be a selfish asshole with a victim complex. His behavior is abusive. He might not be hitting Madelyn but he is do damn toxic that I can't label him as anything but.

I don't understand why Lisbeth and everyone else wants Slan to marry Lister???

Ian is incapable of self reflection that doesn't revolve around him being the victim or martyr in some way.

It's hard to root for a guy who literally didn't visit the woman he apparently loves in prison and has made everything -- including her suffering -- about him and his needs. And now the first thing he wants is for MADELYN to reassure HIM.

The fucking audacity.

Enzo is mafia but his family had it hard as immigrants too, he is showing remorse, and he has done what he can to help Madelyn without expectation of anything from her. Just because he cares about her. He's also straight forward about his intentions.

Meanwhile Mr. "I couldn't be bothered to visit you in prison" over there comes, acts like an asshole at dinner with Madelyn's employer, gave her no reassurance or clarity about his feelings, and then straight up played the victim card.

Literally, of course Madelyn doesn't feel like she can be open to him -- HE LITERALLY IGNORED HER WHILE SHE WAS IN PRISON FOR YEARS. She has no idea what his intentions are, whether he hates her or not.
