I don't understand why she needs the queen on her side.
I mean, her end goal is revenge but I just don't see how she's getting closer to it. Nor do I understand why she really needs the Solia position at this point. Everybody knows that she's an unleasher now and she has good connections. Her cousin already lost and Howard is already a loser.
Why not just bow out of the Solia, reject Howard's engagement, tell on her uncle, and get with the duke?
When stories have an element like this I always get surprised by how little fight they put up. Like, I know they wouldn't have won and they know that as well. But, even though I know I wouldn't win, there isn't any possibility that someone kidnaps me like this doesn't catch these hands. Just to show my anger a little bit.
The logistics of this just leave me like ??????????
So this is supposed to be a 29 year old working man. And over the course of a year, he broke into Tatsuki's house and left condoms he ejaculated into. He paid off Tatsuki's friends to support a fake persona. Bought an apartment near him to keep tabs on him? Like, besides it being crazy, who has the time?
I totally thought that the 7th prince was killed by his mom. They didn't say his mom but I got that vibe. I was like, so a top candidate for the crown just fell into water and drowned. And no one was around? He didn't have a crop of guards following him? Like, a regular kid? Sure. A prince? Nah.
You know what would be a real twist though? If it was Cai. Like, it was an accident between kids and the royals covered it up. Would hurt my heart though. I like Cai.
The crown prince is lacking. He's just not up to standard. Like, I'm not gonna lie. He's cute. He started growing on me. But his whole back story kind of brought him like, 10 steps back. Basically, he didn't really have the country's best interests at heart. He just wanted petty revenge. He was honestly down Charti's throat about doing what's good for the country but for years, he been promising to support some random. He didn't make sure she was a good candidate or anything.
And now, he's just Acting like he's stuck. Charti put out plan after plan after plan. With people outright tripping her up, she still produced. But the crown prince can't come up with something? Like, you got knights. You got wizards. But you hear one unconfirmed rumor from an unreliable source and you just gonna stand by?!?!?!?!!!
Just, there's no structure behind what she does. Like, at this point in the game, she'd be better off packing up and running away if she fears death. I mean, her only real plan is to make Noah the heir. And like, she's done nothing to really help that cause? Like, she could have married Noah off to make strong ties. Could of helped him make a name for himself. He's literally just the cute second prince. He's not known for anything but that. Cesar is a war hero. It's a losing battle.
And, I really don't get what her plan was for the war anyway. Let's say Cesar and his troops were wiped out. So then, the war moves forward and the Empire falls? Like, i don't get it. She legit would have been better off getting a maid to stab him in his sleep or something.
Ikr? At this point it's just a weak plot element to somewhat move the story forward. I never made too much sense to be honest. The other thing i really didn't understand is why is Ceasar the unfavored prince? Like basically no one gave two crap about him when he was a kid eve tho his mom is alive (thats not a common plot element) and it's not like you can just ditch a FIRST BORN prince. Secondly why does he have to fight so hard to make the emperor approve? He is a war hero, a first born prince, has great talent for leadership so on. While Noah on the other hand just lazes around all day and basically does nothing so his only strong point is that he is backed up by her mom's family that will make him their puppet if he would become the emperor.
So the current emperor is either fucking stupid or an asshole
I think the main problem is that Cesar's mum is a maid, whereas Noah's mum is the current empress(?), Noah was the emperors top pick because he has a higher standing mother with a much better backing and I also imagine he was a hard worker, he only just started slacking because he decided he really didn't want the throne. Besides when Cesar was a kid he also 'slacked' because his teachers were crap, he was always skipping to get out of the palace and in the Emperor's eyes that wasn't exactly great, also most people in the palace are being influenced by the empress so no one really liked the prince anyway and just thought of him as troublesome
In Japanese, the phrase, to be seen as a women/man means to find someone sexually attractive or to at least be aware of them. For example: I've never viewed my little brothers longtime friends as men, even though we are all adults. People will often say "I don't see you as a man" or "I've never viewed them as a woman" to mean that they have absolutely no romantic interest in them. In the west, you'd probably say "You're like my younger sibling!". The crown prince wouldn't know that phrasing because he hasn't ever dealt with romance.
Think as if the conversation went like this:
ML: I love you like family
FL: I'M NOT YOUR FAMILY
ML: No, but you don't get it. I love you like to the extent that I love my family!
FL: I'm not your family! Look at me as if I'm not your family.
ML: I don't understand why you're upset.
my heart started hurting when she went outside and said, "His highness FINALLY sees me as a woman" while crying she was so distraught about the fact that she developed feelings for the one man she shouldn't have them for. I am a VERY emotionally empathetic person, so this was a nightmare for me to read. I was sobbing by the end of the chapter

You'd think that, knowing what he knows about Tiara's previous relationship, Aqua would be more considerate? Like, I'm not saying that he should read her mind but it seems like he's only super encouraging right when they are about to make out and such. And like, he seems like a pretty diplomatic guy? Why couldn't he just said something like "Well, I'm a little biased but I love everything Tiara makes"
It's a little disappointing that his own attendant is more aware than he is.

But the whole "Super handsome, rich, likable, capable guy who treats someone who likes them like trash is surprised that being treated like trash resulted in them turning away" thing always gets me. Especially in ones like this.
This guy knows how to be polite. He knows how to smile and play nice. He does it to literally everyone else. Like, why would you spend 2 years looking for someone and not be nice to them when you found them? Like, it gets me every time because this type of dude holds all the cards.
Like, imagine he had showed up with flowers and just said, "I missed you". Like, what's so complicated about that?
I can definitely agree with that. But i think the reason he wants to be with the other guy so much is that he is able to be more like his true self and still be accepted. As opposed to putting on a front with other people.
