It’s actually quite good for such a fucked story. It’s all about revenge, and the characters have depth to them. The king being a monster is actually true, not some misunderstanding. The toxin thing may or may not be true. The ML is obsessed with revenge, but in doing so he has to work with the very people who almost killed him and his mother. The brother is righteous but powerless. It has genocide, rape, fleeting love, desperation, revenge, and so so much more.
I think it’s actually quite good. But it’s not a romance. It is very, very, VERY far off from a romance. That’s why I would rate it highly; but if it turns to romance then I would give it a solid 1 star for the brother only.

Ummm not sure why people are complaining? I mean, uke is clearly trying to learn to express himself, he just genuinely doesn’t know how. People can’t just…CHANGE on the fly. He literally just went to buy a present. Plus, you can tell he didn’t mean it the way he said it; he was just worried about seme’s health. Sure, he could’ve said it in a better way, but he realized that and tried to fix the misunderstanding (even if it didn’t work).
Also, their form of communication used to be the challenges. It makes sense it’d be difficult to understand the other person if you’re no longer “fighting” if that was your main form of communicating. Switching communication styles isn’t easy, especially when it’s what you’re used to, but both of them are trying. Obviously there’s going to be some rocky waters while you’re feeling out new currents, especially when you’re on a new boat you’re unused to.
Give the poor man a break, he hasn’t even done anything worth all the hate he’s getting.
Jfc I’m typically not a fan of slow-burns until they’re completed but this one is NEXT LEVEL. It’s such an enjoyable read that I don’t mind it, since it feels more like a simmer. The build up makes you tense, but not implode completely. It doesn’t feel slow paced at all.
I kind of really like this one! It fits its name well; when you’re reading, it does feel a lot like a prologue versus the main story.
I definitely don’t have social anxiety, but I literally do similar things when I’m at home. The U legs, the screeching, the abnormal amount of smut, the teasing, the banshee screeching and eating ice cream while dancing stupidly at like 2 AM in the dark until someone flicks on the lights and I realize I got caught dancing in my underwear eating tortillas and strawberry ice cream….anyway I fucking adore this one, might be my favorite one so far? Definitely top 5, for the realism alone
I said it before, and I’ll say it again…I absolutely ADORE vengeful women. I get literal hearts in my eyes when I see them smile, plot, and be truly manipulative demons sometimes. The slow and steady burn of fury always sets my soul alight with pleasure…ahhhhh I can’t wait to see how Mia will destroy that pathetic boy prince!
