It’s been a while since I read this so I don’t exactly remember the main story. Al I remember was that they both were messy and I can’t even tell when they were in an official relationship to see if they were just cheating on each other or if they were just friends with benefits majority of the story so it doesn’t matter either way.
The flaw is obviously the writing. I feel like issues were brushed over. But seeing as this is the same author of Lack of Love, this author seems to have a reoccurring thing of not writing resolutions well at all. Often brushing over actual resolutions of communication and just jumping into make up sex scenes. That’s something that happened in Lack of Love and here.

Now moving onto the Special Episodes (not season 2 which some may mistakenly think). I honestly did not think it was necessary at all and rather than focusing on the MC and ML’s happy lives after the happy ending of the main story, the author decided to throw in new rivals and issues the entire time. The blonde homewrecker was not a likable character at all despite the author wanting to portray him as an abused and miserable character. How does abused as a child = future homewrecker even make sense? Has no relevance to his character and no genuine reason for why he is how he is. It just felt like the author added that onto him to make him pitiful and not be fully hated as a dude who tried to homewreck the entire time. The dude didn’t even have the guts to apologize to anyone.
Now moving onto such “cheating allegations” that people claim. No cheating was done in the special episodes. MC never cheated on ML with that student, ML literally said it was his nightmare. It was only a dream that ML had. Now the kiss that happened between the ML and the homewrecker was due to the job. They were required to do that for theme of playing lovers. Though I personally wasn’t happy about it, I also do think it’s odd of the photographer to ask them to do that. It’s one thing if it’s the job of an actor or a music artist who usually acts in their music videos, that’s normal to play lovers with someone else in their line of work. But a model?? I have never seen any model required to actually kiss their coworker. I’ve seen intimate photo shoots where they pose with tension between models or pretending to look like lovers, but never actual lips touching. If they do need to kiss for a photo, usually I’d see them fake it and make it look like they’re kissing at an angle.
I guess the best thing ML should have done was tell MC what he needed to do and that it required him to kiss instead of simply just saying he’s doing a photo shoot representing homosexuality. But since MC saw the photos either way and wasn’t really upset over it all’s well that ends well.
Do people just take a glance and not even bother to look until the very end?? People complaining about him originally being blonde when he literally stays having his dark hair and dark skin. The appearance where he’s blonde is temporary and not something he can go back to being
So ppl hate the ML but according to the raws it looks like it’s true that MC was the one to abandon and hurt the ML in the past, hence why ML wants revenge. Though MC has his own reasons for why he did that (apparently those who know Korean spoiled he was blackmailed to do that cause of that girl who had a crush on him), ML doesn’t know that info. It should’ve been obvious MC did something wrong because he literally says so and blames himself, but ppl assume it’s nothing due to other misunderstandings they read from other manhwas. So it’s also no wonder that MC showing back up into ML’s life like nothing happened and wanting to start something again, is icky especially when MC won’t tell ML the truth of what happened back then. It’s like imagine your crush kissed you, led you on, dumped you for someone else and left you, then showed back up in your life acting like nothing happened and wants to be your fwb.
Honestly if the roles were reversed and the ML was the main character/bottom, ppl would’ve probably been hating on doha. But because doha is the main character/bottom, they assume he’s in the right and ML is just being over dramatic, over what they assume to be a misunderstanding. Seeing the raws, ML’s character to me is actually like those easy tops who would forgive the bottom no matter what and still love him. ML throughout the story doesn’t actually do anything for his revenge and just enjoys their current relationship, he’s basically whipped for MC. If ML were the MC then they’d probably think he’s a doormat for doha lmao.
Oh and the brown haired dude that has a crush on MC, is not 2nd ML material. He hardly does anything as well lol. I don’t even remember him making any advances until the very end where it’s barely an actual confession since he just gives up by helping them be together. He has his own pairing with the dude that likes him anyway ig, so it’s cool lol.
“The substitute relationship” I guess official translation? But they swapped out the Chinese names for random easier American names
Either this is supposed to be a short story (like maybe less than 40 chapters?) or this is just a fast paced manhwa in general. There’s like two time skips and it skips over all progress.
So first the beginning of the story starts out with MC going undercover at 27 and ML being 24. MC goes under cover for 5 years and meets ML (time skip). At this time MC is now 32 and ML is 29. Then they get into a friends with benefits relationship for 3 years (time skip). Now MC is 35 and ML is 32. Then the story continues with them likely becoming attached/liking each other without saying it.
It’s pretty fast paced and skips over actual development like how MC worked his way up into the gang and how MC and ML’s relationship got closer.
Currently they’re now at the point where the cops turned on MC? I didn’t actually try translating it but I’d guess they believe MC is too far gone into his role or that he abandoned the mission and really is part of the gang now. While someone apart of the gang also caught onto MC.
This was good until they started including another girl that has a crush on him (she started having a crush when the FL possessed the ML’s body and basically had her personality. Now she thinks ML acts like that fr). It doesn’t help that the FL is pushing for the ML to go on a date with the classmate
I never noticed the change in art until I reread chapter one lol. The characters drawn used to be more rough and masculine looking, the current art makes it have cleaner lines and the boys look softer
Also looks like there’s only 3 chapters until the ending
I’m confused cause why are people acting like taeha being a virgin is new info? This is actually the third time it’s been confirmed lmao. I’m wondering if people genuinely forgot or don’t get context clues.
The first confirmation is in a previous chapter the subordinate was talking about how it’s not like taeha is a virgin while smiling, then he sees taeha not looking amused and giving a serious face. He’s in disbelief as he says, “seriously??” This implied Taeha is a virgin.
Second confirmation is when he’s actually doing it with haesoo. He’s described to be clumsy at first but learns in the process.
Third confirmation is when he has to full on say she was his first lmfao. I’m convinced people won’t understand unless it’s straight to the point.

Oh and for those who are confused and still talking about what taeha’s friend said about taeha sleeping around, that was already confirmed to be a mistranslation long ago. The Korean and Spanish raws have the same matching translation, while the English translation is the one that’s wrong. Don’t forget that some of this English translation is machine or poorly translated.
Just realized Chapter 35 shows MC is at least over 40 years old lmaooo- so he seems to be more demon-like than half
Lmaooo not the dude messing around with a married couple- he was fcking with BOTH the wife and the husband separately and they didn’t know.
Anyways I think this is pretty funny. I saw on b4tO that people were taking this story so seriously and saying how everything is unrealistic, and that they hate the two main characters.
On a different note from those complaining polyamory not being shown well- I do think it’s interesting how the characters are written to all have their own separate issues. It’s interesting cause they show how being in a poly relationship was not what any of them expected or planned for. So it shows more how they struggled to become a poly throuple, with all of the mentally coming to terms with it despite having their own negative thoughts during it. Like Gyeonwoo not liking it at the very start, Ido experiencing how it feels to not like it for the first time, and Jin (later on) has his issue with it as well.
Anyways I don’t get why people are so upset that the focus isn’t about a proper poly relationship. This is fiction, so idk why anyone should ever expect fiction to depict real relationships correctly. Majority of any topics chosen to take inspo from real life is usually not depicted accurately. (Like historical stories mostly not being accurate, gay sex not being properly shown with prep, etc). People complain about it not showing accurate representation when the only ones who can really accurately do so are those who are polyamorous and have been in such relationships, which the chances of writers being poly are low.
Didn’t expect to like this so much. She’s adorable. This reminds me of Anya from spy x family. How she has an OP power, but genuinely is just a child.
ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Anyways I read a better translation on b4tO. Rather than Gru being her name, it’s written as Geuru on the better translation- which I personally think sounds better.
It’s the fact that it’s not even English translations that seem to be slow- this manga looks like it gives out a chapter once a year lmfao. Looking at the preview of the Japanese raws, since the last year I checked- it’s only been like one chapter added.
For those who can’t handle this story going on for much longer, I’d suggest you just drop now lmaooo. It goes up to 160+ chapters and according to the authors note- the story just finished up to that point as PART ONE. Part two is focuses on the remarriage + second baby.
I can only hope part two is just where all the sweetness. As for the chapters ahead that aren’t translated yet, there’s still getting over this angst part, then the amnesia part (which is annoying at first but then it turns cute because they get to experience their relationship like they’re two teens going on a date for the first time. And if I remember correctly she remembers later?)
The scars dude seemed chill before and like a mature older subordinate uncle that’s responsible. But in the recent chapters, his personality seems to have changed to a reckless short tempered obsessed weirdo. He was fine before but now he’s doing way too much according to what he believes is right. Boy who tf is you?? He’s supposed to take orders as a subordinate and just listen, not be the one to make judgements.
He’s a grown man with a whole family and he’s ready to risk everything just to be right.
So as someone who read the novel, I’m kinda worried since it seems they’re starting to change things. Hopefully nothing big is changed. I guess it’s because in the novel, there was no actual huge conflict, and it was pretty simple and straight to the point. It seems like they’re throwing in new scenes and issues into the manhwa.
It’s one thing to tie up loose ends that weren’t covered well in the novel, it’s another thing to add unnecessary extra drama that wasn’t even included in the novel.
The differences which others who read the novel pointed out:
I don’t remember the opera scene being a thing, MC went with Kylo to the ball and not Raymond. And she didn’t ask Lady Devon to go with Kylo.
I saw the raw final chapter and the previous spoilers in the comments of the ending and they both match. Yoohyeon and that human girl didn’t end up together. It’s more of an open ending. They do meet again but nothing else is shown and he literally calls her “friend” lmao. Saying something along the lines of “if I met you again, I’ll help you.”
There was no sign or any other scene indicating they are together. That’s up to the reader to imagine.
-
Personally I don’t like the idea of them getting together. It’s corny and it’s just a recycled idea of the parents. But throw in the quirky human girl that runs in late to class. I much prefer yoohyeon at least being independent, as he never focused on liking anyone in the first place. His priority was always his family/friends. You don’t have to be in a relationship to have a happy ending.
Also adding to the fact that imagining the two together leaves a bad taste in my mouth since he literally didn’t give af about her at all until the last moment where he felt bad a bit, the last time he saw her. Majority of the time, he used her for his own advantage.
I’m tired of seeing all these sappy flashbacks as if it’ll change anything in the present. Just give more fuel for the mincheol supporters. It honestly do be concerning when readers fr hold onto those memories just like the FL and believe mincheol has hope to change for the better again or that he’s good deep down.
What I REALLY want to see is actually seeing when shit hit the fan and all the BAD past memories. As well as taeha’s mysterious background. Those are all things that have not been answered or shown at all, but we keep getting force fed the sappy highschooler shit.
Lmaooo the whole coming back for sex one more time is how BJ Alex went. But the difference is, jiwon had more empathy and guilt than jaekyung. He also was feeling it more emotionally as well cause he caught feelings faster than Jaekyung
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I’m glad it didn’t end up escalating. I do like sera’s character. I can only hope sera’s presence becomes big enough to get that weirdo off the FL’s back
