I gotta say as well, maybe it’s just my feeling, but at the moment I really don’t like Platinum’s behavior to the point I can’t wish him happiness :/ it’s just, it’s alright to have interests alright? But it’s all about Marianne and it’s so disappointing. Look at the way he’s behaving, he let Obsidian down so easily because he thought she wasn’t Marianne and ran to Amber so easily… but now he discovered Amber wasn’t Marianne so he’s distressed about his choice and want to see Obsidian again. Guy, no one loves to be thrown away like a dirty sock, you won’t have anything by playing like that.

There’s just something that irked me a little. So Marianne has to do a political marriage but it would be best if it’s out of love. But Amber, if she’s possibly Marianne, said right from the start that she was seeking for someone “who’ll keep her company for a long time”. Okay look the story was really nice and original in some point I feel. I enjoyed Latte’s personality and the general rolling of the story, but there are a few points that actually got me out of it, or at the very least that got me to dislike the story.
The relationship between Arwin and Latte got me uneasy. I know they end up in love and all that, but at the start they weren’t the ones with the most chemistry? Also during a big part of the stories, Latte just has to go through Arwin’s endeavors and she can’t really act about it or say anything about it, and idk the power imbalance there was here made me want to skip some chapters. It feels like Latte had to tolerate Arwin A LOT before any romance developed and it got me uneasy.
I found the chemistry between Kenneth and Latter better on that aspect, cause although they had a dog and cat relationship, they were mostly on the same level, and there was a lot of teasing even if deep down they recognized that they actually appreciated each other, and they ended up as friends yes. I was okay with Kenneth not being the canon ML but WHY did the story had to have chapters with him as the male lead? This got me really surprised honestly, but not in a good way, cause then it made me crave and desire to see more of that “other universe”? It emphasized on the sides of their relationship I found endearing and how I thought they could turn out, because up to some point in the story, the mystery is still here (at least for me) as to whom Latte is gonna be romancing. Seeing Kenneth and Latte together got me even less appreciative of the Latte Arwin relationship, that felt more forced to me, and then I was also flustered that Kenneth did not have a proper ending of his own, cause I felt like he deserved a happy ending, something more than a few lines about who he would end up with. I also wanted to know more about Ibelin and what happened to her kinda, as she still occupied a big part of the stories. And, it may be because of how I felt about the main relationship, but the last chapters felt especially long to me. Like I kept going through them and wondering …still not over? Some side stories were cute, but it was way too many chapters.

But like, why did it go so fast in the last chapters? Honestly sometimes the pace is slow in some stories, but I’d say here it was WAY too fast, Blanche dealt with all the problems too quickly and the reader is left with no time to breathe at all. The pace was okay in the beginning but it kept getting more and more rushed as the chapters kept going. Chapter 100 seems to be the end, but Riccardo character is kinda … meek. Like it’s hard to have a real attachment to him, as his relationship with Blanche kinda feel bully like, and it’s surprising that she does end up liking him. The moment where his memories were reset to the original villain character got me crazy cause I almost thought we wouldn’t have an explanation as to would he get his memories back or not, thank god we have like five pages about this at the very end /s
But also yes, the whole plot with Anastasia gets rushed WAY TOO MUCH, and she then becomes a character in redemption with a bit too much proximity to Blanche when it should have been properly developed I feel? Also, Pierre became the villain and Mariette and Alphonso are … okayish in the end? It’s a lot to take and a lot that just get thrown in your face when you’re reading, it feels like the author wanted to deal with all the characters they had left on the side and brought them back to make them villain and finish the plot fast. So yeah, in general it was so promising but it should have been longer and more developed, where is the depth of the characters?
Despite all I guess the scenario was original and Blanche’s behavior was interesting, but honestly a lot of potential feels wasted?
