Sometimes it's important to let time heal old wounds, her mom can make amends by loving her unconditionally now and in the future. In that way, she can reassure her and nake her feel safe without touching the traumatic past, I think reminding her of the trauma would only hinder the process of healing. After all, we experience ptsd when we encounter a similar situation, so if she's always being loved and cared for by her mom, the past gradually turns into a distant memory without her even noticing.

I meant the things that already happened in this life. How she was malnourished and how the mom spent most of Lily’s earnings on alcohol. How she was just a kid but she was the main source of income. All the nasty things that the mom said about Lily’s birth. I just want someone to acknowledge that these things DID happen. Not even to confront the mom about it (since she’s already changed and spoiling Lily to heaven and back). Just to have someone know about the things Lily went through and, idk, comfort her. Let her know that it wasn’t her fault at all.

And it’s ironic really. In novels where the female lead transmigrates into an abusive mom, she has to do a whole lot of things just to earn forgiveness for the things she never did. But here the mom got forgiven as soon as she was rebirthed. Plus, Lily never even hated her in the first place so she doesn’t even need to be forgiven.
The mom is so lucky she gave birth to an angel like Lily and not a future villain who kept track of ever wrong ever made against them.
How about villainess in other stories where they turned back in time? They have easier lives cause they are already born rich and happy. The only thing they need to do is be kind. Unlike the mom who was still poor after she transmigrated but she actually did something about it to make Lily happy and not work dangerous jobs anymore.
I'm not sure how much they know about it. This chapter as well, I wish the mom had told Lily she doesn't need to be useful to be loved, instead of "we'll protect each other"
