Since the hiatus is almost over and I have nothing better to do I've decided to take the time to really look into our favorite Korean Norman Bates and over-analyze the Hell out of every part of his character. Buckle up everybody, because this is gonna be a long one.
Let's start with Sangwoo and completely take Bum out of he equation for a little bit. Sangwoo is a serial killer who only targets women. He's superficially charming and has a lot of people surrounding him who he uses as camouflage but outside of his mother I do not think anyone has ever connected with Sangwoo emotionally before. He's isolated socially and I think for the most part he was okay with that.
Now, that's not because Sangwoo is emotionless or even that he finds relationships with others unnecessary, I actually believe that before Bum came into the picture Sangwoo was lonely. No one around him knew the real him and no one around him would accept him if they knew the real him. Everyone around Sangwoo is in love with the mask he puts on. Bum is the first [and only] person who has continued to "love" him after he revealed his true nature.
I think what Sangwoo really wants is for Bum to wholehearedly accept and even join in on his serial killing life-style. This might stem from possibly being rejected by his mother when he killed his father or when she rejected him some other way. Sangwoo has serious abandonment issues and gets murderously angry every time he thinks that Bum has attempted to escape from him. His abandonment issues are also shown quite plainly when Bum attempts suicide. Sangwoo is scared then. He doesn't know what to do and is shown temporarily regressing into an almost childlike state as he tries to stop the bleeding.
I believe that while his abusive father may have been part of the reason he ended up the way he did, his mother actually had a much larger part in creating the monster we know today. I believe that while his mother wasn't physically abusive she was emotionally and sexually abusive. I admittedly have more evidence for the emotional abuse than the sexual abuse but one bit I think shows evidence of sexual abuse is the way he reacted when Bum told him about his uncle. I think he was projecting heavily there. I don't think Sangwoo viewed his mother in a negative light, even if she did sexually molest him. He's hyperfixated on her to the point of being creepy and it's heavily implied that one of the main reasons he's sexually attracted to Bum is because he reminds him of his mother.
Now let's return to his relationship with Bum. I believe that Sangwoo is as emotionally dependent on Bum as Bum is on him. Whenever he thinks Bum has left him, whether it be by running away or committing suicide, he either breaks down into a semi-murderous rage or regresses into a state of childlike fear. I think it is safe to say that Sangwoo has grown too attached to Bum to kill him. He's using Bum as a replacement for his deceased mother who he was heavily emotionally dependent on. He sees Bum as the only one who will never truly reject him no matter what he does to him.
Anyways, sorry for the long and rambly probably nonsensical rant but I have a lot of thoughts on this character. Feel free to comment if you disagree with any of my opinions!

I believe that Sangwoo does genuinely love Bum. Now before you get your torches and pitchforks let me explain. People always say that horrible or unstable people can’t experience love because it’s a thing that most people have overwhelmingly positive associations with but I don’t think that is necessarily true.
Love is something that everyone has a different definition of and one person’s devotion is no more valid than anyone else’s definition.
Not all people love in a manner that is healthy or beneficial to the people they love. I am sure some abusive parents love their children and beat them with the best intents but does that make their actions any less horrible? No. Stalkers say that the love the people they stalk. Are we able to tell these people the love they experience isn’t love because it’s twisted and unhealthy?
I believe that Sangwoo loves Bum because love to Sangwoo has never been healthy. He appears to love Bum the same way he loved his mother and I think we can all guess how fucked up that relationship was.

I agree with you in some ways! But I also see Sangwoo as someone incapable of love. He's a sociopath after all. He's very intelligent and he knows how to play his cards right in order to get things to go his way and keeping Bum around has become something that he knows he will benefit from. He does have a fucked up sense of what love is and underneath it all, he's just as fragile as Bum. But he sees Bum as more of a pet or servant, someone who makes him feel stronger than he really is only because he has power over him. And that isn't genuine love.

Agree completely. If Bum becomes a hindrance, Sangwoo will most probably not hesitate to ditch him though there's a slight chance he won't.

The thing is. Bum has already been a hindrance to him for a while. There have been several points where it would have made sense for Sangwoo to kill him but he didn’t.
I don’t think Sangwoo is as intelligent as a lot of people are making him out to be. I don’t think he’s dumb by any means but he is by no means a genius. Emotionally Sangwoo is almost childlike. He’s enotionally violative and without empathy but he does form attachments. I believe that he’s begun to view Bum as a replacement for his deceased mother and is currently emotionally dependent on him. You saw how much he freaked out when Bum slit his wrists.

Yes. I agree that Bum is a replacement for the love that Sangwoo got from his mother and when Bum slit his wrists, Sangwoo had major flashbacks of his mother. Growing an unhealthy attachment to someone isn't exactly love. He's definitely childlike which also goes hand in hand as to why he can never truly love someone at this point. I can't wait to see more details about Sangwoo's past!

I think where we disagree is on the exact definition of “love.” What does and does not constitute as Love is an incredibly murky grey area that almost everyone has their own opinion about.
I believe that classifying some people as incapable of love is not entirely accurate. Sangwoo is incapable of Love in a conventional or healthy way but I don’t think he’s incapable of it all together.
See, I don’t see love as something inherently positive and there are many unhealthy types of love. I think people try and say that people like Sangwoo can’t love because they only define love as the healthy sort of love, which is completely fine since opinions are objective. I just personally disagree.

That's okay. To me, love is indeed a wholly positive thing. And people in abusive relationships may have some sort of twisted idea of it. Sociopaths might even tell their victims that the things they do, they do because of love. Maybe Sangwoo isn't incapable. In fact, I'm sure he isn't but he's much more complicated and so much more selfish than that which is why I love this manhwa so much! I've dealt with my share of sociopaths and I'm sure you probably know what a sociopath is but here's a link that I think captures my point pretty well https://m.wikihow.com/Spot-a-Sociopath ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Alex, my guy, for someone who has apparently had a lot of anal sex you sure as Hell don’t seem to know shit about anal. Like I get that he was angry and wanted to “punish” DG or whatever but he should have enough common sense to realize that doing what he did had a very high probability of seriously seriously hurting DG, like having to go the hospital hurt.
I also remember how he tried to shove it in without any prep the first time they fucked. He still seems to think DG’s asshole is stretchy like some sort of rubber band.
I’m anxious as Hell. Does Daniel’s second body wake up and if so when? I’ve been avoiding this manga ever since he fell into a coma cause I’m waiting for this arc to be over so I don’t die because of cliff hangers.
I haven't read the raws, and I don't know how far along it is. But, if you saw crystal's* (pardon the name and I hate the name). The father took extra-care to get attention away from Daniel* and got him a separate room. In addition, he (crystal's dad) has been keeping tabs on Daniel. I think the father would at least ensure that Daniel is alive. I mean it would be cruddy is Daniel's body died.
