It was implied in an earlier chapter that she was part of some organization (or something? ) And she's hiding from both the ML and this organization. But I think the author is going to elaborate on it more soon

uhm if i understood correctly. the ml is a prince or part of a royal family or something. and the fl feels that their background is just too different. there was something about the ml’s brother as well which i think is the one who made the fl leave the ml in the past. she then ran away because she thinks if the ml knew that the boy is his child, he will take him away from her bcos the fl thinks that she cant be with the ml.

From what I have understood.. The empress has the right to appoint the emperor and so the current emperor must be appointed by the previous empress or the current due to political alliance... I really suspect of the current emperor's faction of killing the many children (and all of them, in fact) of the empress for the emperor to gain the rights to appoint his linage to be next in line...
