I love to watch oriental historic drama or movies ... Chinese, Korean, Japanese. There is always a emperor, lord, king with a lot of concubines or wives. Many times, the real good drama is among the wives: betrayal or a big plot involving the struggle of power to see who become the mistress of the house. There is always the sweet, naive one, the crazy jealous, easily manipulated by emotions and then the real villain, sly and conniving one who always tries to eliminate all the other wives/lovers. This is just like the gay version of it, lol. Nakyum is the sweet, naive new lover who steals the lord's heart and leaves the other wives behind. All the other wives get jealous, the previous favorite one is the most emotionally unstable and end up doing something stupid (Jihwa) because another 'wife' knows how to use the situation to try and get rid of both at the same time. (the green robe guy).
I just loving this harem drama with Seungho's sister wives, lol.
I know I am supposed to hate Jihwa but I can't help but feel pity for him for being so easy to manipulate. He is by no means worth of pity though because he is a spoiled, vain man and like a good bitter spurned lover, his humiliation is not only because he probably feels Nakyum has what he never had -- Seungho's falling for him -- but on top of it, he lost to a lowborn. Still, the poor sap is being manipulated by the real smart, conniving wife : the green robe lover. He lied to Jihwa, hiding the rumors about Seungho really being taken by Nakyum, knowing Jihwa would end up going after Seungho with high hopes and end up desperate like now.
Now he is there egging Jihwa on, saying that if he doesn't do anything and have Nakyum killed, the lowborn will end up as Seungho's mistress of the house. He probably calculating that the best opportunity to get rid of two love rivals at once.
Green robe guy without even a name is the real villain of this story.

So if this is true, then this means: they all (Jihwa, green robe guy) underestimate SH's intelligence because they only saw him having sex. However, he will hear somehow from Jihwa (after getting caught) that the green robe guy was the one who introduced him the hired killer. So he will know for sure. For me, the biggest villains will be In Hun and SH's brother.

This is a theory of mine. He has been introduced and we saw little from him. However, I see the encounter between him and In Hun (the teacher saw him from afar and saw that the brother smiled after receiving a letter) as very important (cliffhanger) in my opinion. There is some tension between SH and his brother. Since In Hun is a hypocrite and has already planned to betray SH, I can imagine that the brother could conspire against his brother. If SH dies or is condemned for a crime, the younger brother could become the successor.
My theory was that SH was outed as sodomist in order to save his family from the purgery... so it saved the family, yet at the same time, they had to leave the court as the father quit his position which means in the long run, the family is declining. So I can imagine (if my theory is correct) that the father wants to stop this non-sense and to have the younger brother take a position as official. But for that, he needs SH's return to the family.

But wouldn't his brother be in a better position if he was the heir and held the admin position as well? Others have before him.
I am sure in the 10 years SH has been out of the family he believed that this would be the natural order of things and now that his father either repented or sees further use of SH, SH would be seen as usurping lil' bro's future. Also, even when you live with your relatives it doesn't guarantee a familial bond but 10 years out of sight after you were outed of it for "dragging" the family's "honor" through the mud is not going to make does fragile ties get any stronger.
I agree that that encounter of IH and SH's bro foreshadows an association.
Things don't just get thrown for the Hell of it in this story.

Most important statement in this chapter:
"It's no secret that the great Yoon Seungho turns his household upside down every day because of you. One would be a fool not to notice".
The servants. The doctor. The lords. The teacher. ...
And after that tailor shop episode, the whole town knows the great Lord Yoon Seungho looks whipped for a lowborn.

This is usually fun but I'm getting irritated with the subtle love triangle. I had hoped the author had moved on from trying to insert Alec as love interest by now that Ivan and Hen are established. These hints that Alec likes Hen and even worse if Hen gets confused, it is turning me off.. It got a bit old.

I get so lost sometimes, especially with the different characters. I know I am supposed to understand something that is not clear but I don't always get it.
- Each class has a king and a Queen? A guy can be a queen and a girl can be a king depending on the card, right?
- What's with the Yakosoba's scenes? Did Karino want to give Asuza an opportunity to cook for him again?
- Who was having sex with Eno in the last scene? The 'King' queen he bullied earlier saying she wasn't strict enough?
- Why is Kuze angry with the cast comment?
- Wasn't Karino kissing Asuza since a long time ago?
- I take that Karino sent Asuza to the market just so he would go to, right?
Anyway, half the time I don't have the depth to understand the details, even more when the plot gets complicated ... like this guy Eno watching Karino x Asuza.

Wow, It's like Christmas! We got two updates in one week! Thank you!
I'm curious to understand what Seungho meant with 'Why doesn't he ever learn?" ...
Learn what? That Inhun doesn't care for him or that speaking/flirting with Inhun provokes his rage?
Anyway, I think Nakyum felt Seungho jealousy here when he asked 'Why do you like him so much?' and that's why he was a bit surprised with the question.
Seungho is like a teenager with a first crush. He can't sleep, he is stalking his crush to chase away other man who talks to him and he is practically begging Nakyum to spend time with him. The dude is whipped but he must be figuring out by now that he has to change tactics.

Do you think so? I think that from NK point of view, Seungho used Inhun as leverage to threat him and out of being mean, mocking his feelings but I don't think he realized until now that it was jealousy.
I don't think Seungho openly said to NK that he was jealous of Inhun even because Seungho himself didn't realize yet (in the blowjob scene he is getting pissed with NK lowering himself to save Inhun and he starts to remember NK drunk confession to the teacher and thinks to himself: 'Why am I so angry?' ) and then mocks NK's feelings for Inhun and the blowjob comes out of pure anger and jealousy: "Whenever Inhun is mentioned, you act as a silly mutt that doesn't know its head from its tail" Were you not intending to protect your good sir with that lowly body of yours"? ... he is seeping with jealousy and the blowjob is his anger but I think Nakyum only sees Seungho mocking him out of mean streak.
He probably feels that Seungho despises Inhun but I think up until now with a defeated, bitter and almost whining Seungho asking 'why do you like him so much' that Nakyum sees that Seungho is actually jealous of his attention to Inhun and that's why he looks so surprised. I think he took Seungho's animosity towards Inhun only as a mean thing Seungho was doing to torture him.
Anyway, I think that even if NK had an idea, now it should be clear that Seungho envies his feelings for Inhun.

I am in complete agreement that NK didn't see any jealousy as the real motivation for SH's hostility towards Sir until this latest chapter. SH didn't woo him, he took advantage of him while drunk and then violently forced himself on him. All he expects from SH is a nobleman walking all over him.
And I also agree that NK could only see it more as SH being mean to him based on all his experiences with SH so far.
But NK is also becoming aware that SH has acted out of the norm around him. Whatever he took out SH's confrontation with Jihwa it was still done for NK's sake (NK a lowborn was put above a nobleman from any outsider's POV. Even if NK was the victim, it wouldn't have matter because a nobleman was the victimizer). Medicine is extremely costly and from NK's POV SH is just mean to him so he wouldn't feel guilt for hurting him, so why waste money on him? Why personally carry him to SH's room because it is the warmest? Why would SH inconvenienced himself and surrender his comfort to NK?
However, my response was based solely on SH's point of view as he is the one that utters that NK never learns. To SH, he couldn't be more clear (he is not the most rational person when it comes to his feelings) to NK but Nakyum just wishes SH would leave him alone.
And this is not to say that SH thinks he loves NK either. He is not even there yet. He just wants NK to the point of distraction. SH knows he is jealous of Sir and finds it a slap in the face since he sees right through Inhun (I mean honestly only NK and small children can't) and knows he is not worthy of the devotion NK holds for him.
This more of their awareness period.
That's why I think SH dropped it when NK didn't know how to answer him when he asked him why he liked Inhun. I think they are both starting to get an understanding of each other.

Lost count of how many times I came back to read this.
Saezuru still my all time favorite but DF holds a special place in my heart. I love Togawa so much, the way he just lives his feelings without questioning too much. Such a beautiful love story. It's obvious Shima craves love but got so used to settle for not expecting anything. It's like he is living in self confined shadow and Togawa becomes this sun that he is both annoyed by at first but can't help stop wishing for more of it.
I think one of my favorite scenes is when he goes to Shima's apartment and just makes himself at home and then how sweet it's the bed scene. You can feel how scared Shima is of letting himself believe he can be happy. Such a perfect Togawa x Shima scene.
I wish YK someday decides to give us one more extra showing them finally living together.
This topic session grows so fast that sometimes if you don't reply right away to a topic you liked it, you lose it in the pages... the reply has spoilers so..
Anyway, someone posted here that they don't believe NK will be actually hurt by the contracted mercenary because it would be somewhat a repetitive arc since we already got Nakyum sick on bed for several chapters. So the other possible plot is Seungho killing the mercenary without anyone else getting hurt or Seungho getting hurt in the process when trying to interfere. I agree as well that the possibility of Seungho getting hurt gives way for other characters development, not only NK. A Seungho injured can be the link to introduce his father/family back in the story (since Seungho himself is willing to go visit them). It could drive Inhun to try and take advantage. Nakyum will have his chance to choose between running away or staying. Jihwa, if not dead already, could probably have some king redemption arc for himself.
