"I know I'm reading this illlegaly and someone took the time to risk being fined to translate it, but let me complain!!!!"
look, translator is doing a crime by illegally distributing and translating this. ffs, how entitled are you to critique them? it's not hard to follow at all, and if you have an issue with it, just by the official korean or english yourself and translate it with papago if necessary.

At least the relationship wasn't an actual romantic relationship and he clearly stated that in the beginning. He's an asshole for sure, but it's good they're not really dating and the bottom was getting ahead of himself and falling in love despite being told that they would never be in a romantic relationship.

Author,,, why did you write the world to be so sexist,,, of course your ML's would be garbage when you created a world like that,,, T-T
I would usually say it's only fair to hold historical accuracy, but the Korean fair kind of leaves that point,, nul XD
I'm referring to the fictional author of the fictional world, btw, not the irl author.

I love how his first thought was that the entire thing was a trap they had set up. He really has no trust in his wife and honestly, I wouldn't either considering how she forced him to marry her for her own selfish gains. I'm really looking forward to them growing together (The FL is also selfish, considering how she manipulated his entire family into forcing him into marrying her and ruining his entire life, even though that life was pretty bad before)

love seeing all the westerners trying to apply their culture towards the comic as if korea wasn't a third world country until recently and gay marriage still isn't legal
yes homophobia is bad but also it's a completely different environment? please don't say she should no better because, that would be really hard since how is she supposed to know better?

Ugh okay another misconception about corsets.
Everyone wore corsets back in the day. Even men. The maids would wear corsets. Corsets weren't designed by men, it was a women-owned market, and men of course didn't like that, so they released magazines mocking female corsets and of course we all fell for it. Corsets aren't just to pinch in your waist - most of that was done by illusions (larger sleeves, fuller skirts leading away from the waist - but to straighten your back and fix your posture, and to help distribute your weight (similar to a bra) to ensure you didnt have back pains. Im so sick of people being like "corset bad." I don't hold this against the author, korea had lose clothing and corsets weren't really a thing in the east, but this is just to readers. modern corsets - yes, they were bad, but corsets in the victorian ages and around those times? didnt mess you up. Of course you had to break them in, but after that you would really only have issues slouching our touching your toes, like a tight back brace.

Oh, thank God someone else mentioned this. I hate when research isn't done into corsets because of how many misconceptions there are about them. Tight lacing was not common practice. Although I believe some higher ranking would be tight-laced, however, that's only if you of the most fashionable woman, like actresses. I don't think even nobles even tightlaced either is was the seen as a bad even back then. Lmao, they were just bras. That legit ruined part of comic for me so I'm just gonna assume that it's a trend of the time and hope it never gets brought up again.
Ain purposefully let himself be beat up so he could get more attention; let's not romanticize it or call it cute, that's hella messed up. ain and his dad are both objectively bad people. let;s not forget that.
But what if he didn't want to fight back because he didn't wanna make his mom sad instead?
that would be hella stupid and out of character, it's been shown throughout the series that he's still an objectively bad person just like his father; he's been raised since a kid to become a murderer and a killer. he just cares for his mom. his mom only came in because he was taking a while to come on in. if he had just beaten up everyone or just ignored them and come on in on time she wouldn't have even known there was a fight.
Out of character? Hes a two faced. Evil behind her back but kind in front of her face. It's not out of character that's who he is and that's how he has been acting this whole time. Hes been taking the beating ever since the beginning, the main girl even talked about how the old step mother used to bully him at parties. I mean maybe he is doing it to gain her pity but maybe he isn't and just doesnt wanna disappoint her cause to her hes "a good and innocent kid" and he knows she thinks that way about him.
im pretty sure she knows hes already messed up, she just wants to get closer to him so he doesnt kill her. im pretty sure he doesnt need to get beaten up in order to get her attention; and him being beat up should in fact ruin his family name since his family has this entire reputation of being intirely evil. i don't know how accurate the plot is going to evolve from the pre-established facts and history that it takes its inspiration from via setting, but him getting beat up would a) tarnish his family's name (which just means he would be tortured more to become less weak and more attempts would be made on his life as he's now perceived as a weak kid) and b) wouldn't necessarily give him any more attention than him just feigning being sick like his father. once again, i don't know how they will write it, but based on all the previously set up plot lines and the general royal history and stereotypes this story takes inspiration from, him being beat up on purpose is hella stupid. but i don't really think that the author would bother going into the politics that him being beat up would actually warrent.
