Hey guys I really wanted to bring this topic up under this manga cause I really would like to get as many opinions on this as I can because I'm really curious what other people think about this subject.
I think there's a lot of people that take omegaverse too seriously, it is not slice of life work that attempts to mirror reality with plausible scenarios and relatable content that we would see in every day mundane life. Omegaverse is anything but that. It is a made-up world with made-up laws, a made-up hierarchy and made up biology.
People tend to have really strong opinions about the prevalent rape as well (as they should). Here's the thing though, rape happens in literally almost all mangas, and trust me I've read LOTS of omegaverse content. This is what I'm curious about, where I live in the West rape is illegal, its a crime that gets people thrown in jail and it is extremely morally wrong. Has this even been addressed in omegaverse? Is rape even really a thing in the fictitious world of omegaverse? Is it illegal? Is it a crime? It is of course very traumatic to (usually) the omegas that are on the receiving end as it is unwanted and non-consentual but the omgeverse people are seen as more animalistic than a regular human.
WE scorn upon the rape because most of us do not posses cognitive dissonance, we think of ourselves as consistent people with consistent views on topics. We KNOW rape is bad so when we see it we immediately think "this is horrible content" using our own real-world knowledge and views. But we shouldn't be applying our real-world knowledge to a fictitious world that differs greatly from our own. I think we need to accept that that's just how this universe operates and we shouldn't get too upset about it and start "cancelling" characters and content because of what happens. if you truly get bothered so much about it then I would suggest dropping the entire universe as a genre of interest because this trope doesn't seem to be going away any time soon, unless you find the few and far between mangas/webtoons that don't have rape. I just want to know what others think about this, if anyone agrees, disagrees, has any points of their own they'd like to make.
Just to clarify though, I do not think rape is ok and I think it is a horrible crime to commit in the real world. I can also understand however how some people do have rape fetish/fantasies that they are too afraid to admit or act on in real life so they turn to content that contains it to find satisfaction, I think we should be mindful of that.

I think I agree with you. It's not a positive trope, and definitely feels uncomfortable but I think the issue most people have is with how the rape is portrayed almost as a normal thing in the omegaverse(but it is a serious crime in reality). However, I think if you are sensitive to topics such as rape/forced anything then you shouldn't read any omegaverse. If the story has value and fills the satisfaction which we came to read a romantic story between males,(with growth, I love me some character and relationship development) then I can differentiate what happens in it to our own universe/reality.
I don't really understand how someone could want rape. It's rape if you don't want it, and are physically and mentally hurt by it. They probably just like rough sex, adrenalin rushes from dangerous situations, or maybe hookups with random people. But it's not rape if they enjoy and want it. I guess it's fine as content, if the rest of the story is well-made, but I feel like rough but consensual sex is a much better option, and hurtful tropes shouldn't be encouraged.

Ok literally all I'm seeing in the comments are people complaining about the side couple,which honestly is really annoying,if you don't like it,don't read it.its as simple as that omg. Your whining isn't going to make the chapters come out faster.
Also it's obvious the author wanted to give attention to the side couple as well as they saw fit and some of us actually enjoy reading about them so it would be nice if you guys would stop clogging up the comments section saying you don't care about them when it would seem like the few who do want to actually comment about it nicely.

Well i also dont really like them but its interesting to know whats happening with the two of them (and i like both of them) and a lot of ppl say "put it at the end after main couple" but truth to be told, why when its happening at the time of season 1 ending... it fits in the timeline and im sure the author also wants some rest from only drawing our main babys

Just to be clear, some people don't necessarily hate the side couple, but we just long for the MC because their last scene has really left a huge cliffhanger, hence most of us are complaining because the MC's story wasn't exactly finished yet and we want to know what happens to them first before moving on to the another couple.
That's also why more people tend to complain because the story was suddenly shifted from the MC to the SC while our focus was still on the MC's story and it wasn't really expected by most of the readers.
Oh, and BTW we do respect the artist, we don't really mind if she puts more characters in the story, cuz well she gotta do what she gotta do for the story to progress. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I agree!! I see how the author wanted the timeline to flow and I'm really enjoying reading about the side couple. I was actually really hoping in s1 we would get a short side story about them so I was so happy when we did! I just wish people would be a bit more understanding,I get it if some don't like them,that's their opinion,but to be filling up the comments merely saying "bring back the main couple!!!!!" I feel is kind of disrespectful to the author.
I respect your opinion, but it's quite hard to just "not read their comments" when that's literally all the comments section is full of. I have to go digging to see the comments that actually like the couple.

Well yeah she closed season 1 pretty open but thats how you work in the comic Industrie :"( its always like that (or most likely) season 1 has a open end, then come some side storys from the mc daily life like extras or a side story about some SC and then they get back to our MC in season 2 real start

All the readers by now should know the chapters that are coming out these days are about the side couple,just wait until the main couple is back. I'm not saying they they aren't allowed not liking the side couple,everyone can have their own opinion. It's just kinda of bumming the rest of us out,the comment section should also be used to discuss the latest chapter,what's gunna happen next etc etc but I just see comment after comment hating the side couple

I can see now that my original comment may have come across a little hostile and I guess I typed it out a bit annoyed because I had just finished the chapter and was really excited to look at the comments to see what others were saying but was met instead with very little support if the side couple and people just asking for the main couple back,it really just puts a damper on things :// Trust me I ADORE the main couple, I think they're so sweet and I'm also very excited what is to come in S2 and I can of course understand some might prefer them or are overly excited cause of the cliffhanger,I get it! And yes I'm generalizing cause I scrolled a couple of pages and I was mostly seeing hate for the side couple,some are respectful opinions and some were just quite rude. I guess takeaway here is there are (some) who do in fact respect the author and these characters and (some) who don't at all,I just hope we can be a bit mindful of each other :)
