I completely agree with everyone saying that she would struggle with such a long and dangerous journey but that resilience only builds with experience. The more he shelters her from doing anything the more opportunities she misses. He needs to stop treating her like a caged bird and let her experience life and try and fail and try again and succeed. I mean the guy is literally a world renowned knight tf he knows that it takes time and opportunity to grow skills . And Ik he wants to give her the best life and yada yada but he should let her grow her skills and help others bc she's HAPPY when she does it. Which he would know if he would have a conversation with her ....
