In a lot of ways this manga is just fundamentally different from most, and I think it's noteworthy for that if nothing else. I really, really appreciate the emphasis on consent - especially consent WITHIN RELATIONSHIPS - and the fact that this manga actually acknowledges that penetrative sex isn't the only kind of sex there is - something almost completely absent in BL smut - I'm disappointed that they still end up there. I was really hoping it would end with them finding other ways to enjoy sex, especially since when it became the focus/goal is when the issues really started. So in that sense I think the first chapter is the best and most satisfying. We even got Hiro in a pro-choice shirt! Definitely haven't seen that in any other BL.
Honestly I don't think this couple was compatible, I kinda would've rather seen them break up and explored things with their respective side characters. But in a way that frustration is even more frustrating because it IS so realistic.
I love how one side character pointed out that the time you spend NOT having sex is always going to be greater and expecting sex to solve everything isn't realistic. Compatability is important, but all the rest is what makes up a relationship IMO.
If you enjoyed the sex ed aspect of this, I'd highly recommend The Good Teacher. It's one of the vanishingly few BL that I'd actually recommend taking sex tips from.
Jiwon is so anxious about everything (as we know,) and while he's saying some wild stuff to his boyfriend, at least he's being honest about his fears. Jungwoo is great but he's being really controlling and passive-aggressive IMO. His desire to tell people about their relationship is at the root of all of his irritations, but instead of discussing it for real he's just being kind of a dick.
He's suspicious of every person Jiwon interacts with, which is common in BL but IRL is such a red flag. Jiwon hasn't given him any reason not to trust him, and if anything Jiwon has way more cause to be jealous with how people throw themselves at Jungwoo. Making him feel like he's doing something wrong by hanging out with his friends - even when it's for classwork! - is fucked up. And Jiwon knows that in the past Jungwoo has hated clingy partners so he's trying to stay a little distant, whereas Jungwoo actually wants him to be clingy af. But of course neither knows what the other is really thinking. And yeah I get that it can be hard when your partner has low self-esteem, but he could try reassuring his boyfriend who has a KNOWN ANXIETY DISORDER instead of getting mad that he's, ya know, anxious. If he's worried about Jungwoo breaking up with him, clearly he DOESN'T want to break up. He's not fixated on it because he wants to be, but because he's afraid of losing Jungwoo over one wrong move.
I really wish we saw Han-gun’s perspective, even just a little - especially in these last few chapters. The way he seemed to give Won up so easily really fucked me up and made me furious and I don’t understand the character’s thought process, given how he’s behaved all season.
Caveat: I know he’s a kid too so in reality I get it, but logic and emotion are two separate things and emotionally my heart got thrown into a bed of nails.
Rest in Misery, shithead father. May the bugs eat your balls first.
Yea it would be great if the time skip would be in his perspective. Tho I understand han gun as well. Because it shows that he has changed and really took wonie in to consideration and learned from past mistakes. They had issues before where he is worked up to avenge wonie from the dad and wonie didnt like it all. So him not resisting had less toll on wonie
Yea no that was all talk lmao. The minute wonie called to meet up he was ready to go in his bike. So he probably said all that cos the dad is there, and resisting would make him more mad and make wonie trapped between them. But idk, we really didnt get to see much of his reaction cos everything went by so fast (which makes sense cos its wonie’s pov and hes a real slacker in narrating events)

Once he wraps his head around Soobin being hope, I assume that'll just make him cooler and hotter tbh.
