I will probably get jumped for this but while I loved the story and it kept me constantly curious the romance between the two wasn’t there to me. I was excited bc it had plot and the comments made it seem like there was a lot of tension but I didn’t get any of that! Maybe it’s the autism but like it just seemed like the mc was forced into this relationship bro didn’t give any consent to 90% of the things involved and the top didn’t give much emotion except possessive and creepy while mc was lowkey confusing when it came to his his conflict. Everyone is saying mc was into the guy but idk I can’t pinpoint exactly where except for the two moments of him missing him and him crying and then them fucking. I guess I just could really feel the romance and tension that everyone was talking about which was disappointing T^T
I’ve seen quite a lot of comments talk about how the novel is more descriptive when it came to the characters so I’m thinking maybe the art just didn’t quite relay that same effect for a lot of people like the art just didn’t come across as very emotional to me, both characters just had the same expression the entire time and it made it wayyy harder to understand anything going on with them development wise which when writing it can be easier to express complex characters and their thoughts and feelings. I’m debating trying it out bc I think it’s long but I’m tempted bc the story was gooddddd
I’m going to give a complete honest review and say that I actually didn’t like the story. The story was confusing and the romance between the two main characters didn’t feel real but also the bottom didn’t feel like a good character compared to kei, kei was a fantastic written character about what a child psych can look like with abuse from a young age but what he did to the other main character wasn’t addressed and just thrown away like it didn’t happen and that really irked me. Kei raped him more than once and at one point made the guys boyfriend listen to them and then randomly they fall in love? We go from the ML being traumatized to him being smitten in like two chapters :( It made zero sense to me bc we got kei who is a complex and traumatized character but it felt more like him doing that to the ML was excused rather then explained, it was never addressed and then all of a sudden a weird cult come back and that confused me as well and then the main character blaming himself for kei leaving bc he wanted to hide his sexuality for safety reasons? Like no bro that isn’t selfish of you to do and it just seemed like he went from a fleshed out character to the stereotypical yaoi attached to abuser character. like we went from a good start to just watered down characters and plots which disappointed me tbh. Kei as a character was greatly written and his complexity was great as well just everything else was dissatisfying

It was cute! The character designs were peak and the setting was awesome as well! The plot had issues tho T^T like ao being full traumatized made a lot of sense! I don’t agree though with asuka apologizing to the gang? Like I understand he had to do it in a way but we should have gotten a bit more emotional hate from him because they literally beat up aos father, trashed the restaurant, kidnapped ao, tried to rape him, threatened to traffic ao AND HIS LITTLE SISTERS and everyone is just like brushing that off? There just seemed to not be enough emotional depth to the situation revolving gangs. It’s understandable tho for a short story but I think if your doing a short story then don’t put such a heavy conflict in there :(
I also died at the “I’m not gay” and then proceeds to have gay sex. Bl authors please realize that bisexuality, pansexuality, unlabeled, or just queer exists ToT
