Just debunking a misconception here:
Guys, Osiris NEVER used his role as "the god of life" to give Neftys a kid... come on. He just gave her a kid in the most ordinary way, by using his own sperm to knock her up, with the most ordinary and "non-supernatural" method. If he had done as "the god of life" then he would have used his power to help her and Seth have a biological kid *of their own* (but that was the one thing he couldn't tolerate, for Seth to have a kid with someone else). And Neftys was always aware of the fact that the kid was Osiris' son, not her husband's.
If you still think a woman's desperation to "prove her love" to her husband justifies her fully accepting to have another man's child, that's your own business. But if you think Neftys went along with it because Osiris' being the god of life guaranteed a "successful pregancy", or something, then you're making her out to be even dumber than she already seems, for effing sake...
They think Neftys went to ask for Osiris's advice because he's the god of life, which they think is what could've made it easy for Osiris to talk her into having Osiris' own kid...
But while they think that excuses her, I actually think that makes her sound way too stupid, come on... If he was gonna give her a kid with his own "seed", any other male god could have provided the "seed", it didn't have to be the very same god they were sharing a roof with! It even seems like it didn't even have to be an *Egyptian* male god altogether, since it seems there are plenty of other gods outside of Egypt, in their world!
I get that some readers may want her relationship with Seth to have been authentic, but that prevents them from realizing the role the author wants this character to play and, even worse, how her failure to tell the truth and take responsibility for so long is what caused her husband and son centuries of suffering.
Yes, fellow Nephthys hater. I support you. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
About why Nephthys came to Osiris regarding child matters. Of course, because Nephthys wanted to have a child from Osiris, the man she loved.
Because as Seth always said, children are proof of love between two people.
Many signs indicate that Nephthys loves Osiris. There were also many signs that Nephthys was more or less aware of Osiris' feelings for Seth.
If Osiris was the one who told half truths and half lies, then Nephthys was the one who always told lies.
Then, I don't believe in the existence of fake Nephthys and real Nephthys. There is only one Nephthys who lies to make herself appear innocent and the victim of the situation.
Thank you for your support.
I do suspect and dislike Nephthys for all that you mentioned but the reason I *hate* her guts is due to the only thing the story lets you be sure about: that she's a horrid mother.
I mean, the story shows that she not only she kept denying her child the right to know who his father is (even for centuries after Osiris' death) but also that she knows the reason why Anubis can't grow up and manage to become a god (which would end much of his suffering), and still won't tell him...
I mean, even if she did those out of love for Seth, that only makes me more furious. Children's wellbeing should ALWAYS come before anyone else's (if forced to make a choice) and that's something no one can convince me otherwise about.
To be honest, Nephthys attitude towards Anubis is the basis of one of the reasons why there are no real Nephthys and fake Nephthys.
The person who chooses to stay in prison of her own accord, instead of choosing to run away with her son who keeps begging them to go as far as possible, is too ashamed of what she did, and also worse still doesn't tell the truth to her child at all , just to protect her image as innocent.
That type of person, of course, will easily tell lies to people he just met in order to maintain her image and portray her as an innocent person.
I have mixed feelings about Isis giving birth to Horus. I don't like that part of Isis does intend Horus to be a tool of revenge. Also from that attitude, Isis seems to imitate what Osiris did, by using children as tools to achieve goals.
But at the same time, I know, a part of Isis really wanted a child from Osiris - someone Isis impossible to have anymore. Also the affection Isis showed Horus, was not a lie.
While Nephthys ....
Sometimes I wonder why Nephthys gave birth to Anubis if in the end she acted like that.
Previously I did not emphasize that, only discussing the root of her actions. Because Nephthys' treatment of Anubis was based on wanting to be seen as the innocent and victim of the situation.
When people say that Nephthys respects Seth because he is her husband, I believe. When people say Nephthys loved Seth as a brother, maybe. But, love Seth in the romantic category? Hahaha, I can't believe it.
To be honest, I came to the point of believing that Nephthys did not have the ability to love. But unfortunately, Nephthys can, and for her love, she can sacrifice both her child and husband to a beast (read: Osiris).
Ryan, you are patience incarnate.
Lol AoAo doesn't know what getting married is? He's like Goku from Dragon Ball *facepalm* Maybe even worse, as he did tell the P.E teacher he was on his period, once...
I'm not blaming AoAo as much as the people who denied him a basic education... (Maybe Ao Gu's responsible for this?)
Though how someone can live for as long as he did without knowing what marriage means makes me wonder if he even knows where babies come from, which is something all children get curious about and try to find out, sooner or later...) I mean, I still absolutely love AoAo, but I do wonder what the heck he was doing all this time that he's been alive, if he doesn't know even the basics. *facepalm*
Even while drugged, Ao Gu was still choosy and rejected the fox lady in order to go for the lil' demon.
What he did was a horrible accident, but at least it wasn't completely random and meaningless for him.
Yes, but I was also thinking about that prior flashback that showed that even during the r*pe the delirious Ao Gu kept asking the lil' flower why he seemed so familiar and who he was, meaning that even though he was so feverish that he couln't even manage to recognize him properly, he still recognized the lil flower's scent as one he was already pretty familiar with, meaning he probably had feelings for him from before and it was those that he acted on (if extremely violently) in his delirious state caused by the drug that they had slipped him.
I forgot. That chapter feels like it was forever ago.
I think, maybe the drug was meant to make him forget so that he couldn't trace back to who drugged him. He was attracted to the lil flower demon's scent and acted on his desire for him but based on this chapter it seems his instinct took over and overrode everything.
He also hinted at being jealous that the lil flower demon danced in front of everyone.
Ao Gu appears to be someone that's extremely disciplined and in control of his instincts and the drug wrecked that. I thought he was just an overprotective brother but probably a hypocrite that just took the little demon by force, but now he is shown to have been very interested in the lil demon but didn't make a move because he is very straitlaced and kinda prudish, for real.

Seme: "pay me back right now, or become my lover!"
Next line: "No pressure scans"
Me: *reading end of chapter 2* "Lol, 'these' scans do have a lot of pressure, though?"
BTW, I'm almost sure the actor guy just means it as a rehearsal partner for a future BL movie, or sth...
