the ml is absolutely useless. Even now as he is chasing her and is remorseful, he didn't put any security on her door? That she was nearly killed the moment he took charge of her security? She was fine on her own and was caught and thrown into the prison because the ml derailed her escape. And then he takes her in and she is almost killed again. Why do you exist, ml? Charlotte is so much better

why must we have romance? And if we MUST, why do we need a 2nd ML??? The prince was great as a friend and co-conspirator, they had such a nice dynamic going. In fact, the prince being with coco would've been nicer. For once in novels i would like to see all the female characters getting paired up with the male characters, instead of having every male fall for the FL.

And i will admit I haven't revisited the earlier chapters, but it seems like she has to try very hard to keep up appearances and stay on her toes with tatsuo, and she was far more open and comfortable in her skin with kouya. What broke her and kouya apart was them starting to keep up appearances and pride in front of each other instead of being completely honest, the way she always is with tatsuo. He is a lot more mature and smoother, and she doesn't see herself as an equal and keeps sidelining and doubting herself in this relationship.
Again my memory of the entire dynamic is shaky so I could be wrong.

The boss was grown up enough to see the anxiety that dajeong has, and he fully, ruthlessly manipulated him into having no one else to depend on except him after the mom's death. And now that he has full control over dajeong to the point where he knows dajeong has nowhere to go and wouldn't want to go elsewhere, he is making sure to completely crush him. He almost killed him ffs. SCUMBAG.

Cliff's and Rise's endings in the novel were not satisfying at all. Rise became unbearably 2-D and got no comeuppance for her murder of all the ediths and all the plotting. She was punished after enjoying being the duchess for a long time. And then Cliff just stayed the duke and eventually married another lady with no consequence of having attempted to kill edith.
And all this time the main couple were away in the far off territory, receiving no rewards or apologies from the duke, duchess, cliff or rise. They were happy and they made the place prosper, of course. But what kind of a payoff is that for all the shit edith had to go through. So I much prefer this. The only thing i didn't like was how much they downplayed and removed the shit edith went through in captivity, and how much she was ready to give up. That would've made this entire comeback much more satisfactory.
I can see why the people who love the novel would like to preserve the original storyline. But honestly, even with the story changes in the manhwa, it isn't out-of-character for cliff, rise and others to act in this manner, so these changes are quite easy to swallow. Eager to see more.
But didn't we already have the scene where perez confessed and tia accepted? Why are we unnecessarily adding the trope of contract relationship? For manufactured drama? To leave open the possibilities of future misunderstandings? For the fl to have 20 episodes to bury her head in the sand?
Don't get me wrong, contract marriage is one of the junk-food tropes i like, if done correctly. But here it is so pointless
I guess love is not everything to marry. They both have roles within their families. I don't know
It might also be so grandpa agrees to the relation. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
Did she agree? I thought it was more like Perez confessed and let her know he was actively pursuing her
I suspect its entirely a contrivance to have the fun of this trope. That the genre has dragged it to death doesnt mean a story like this isnt kinda the original setup it was made for: two people that already know and trust each other but one person is too driven and the other is too insecure to risk the relationship by confessing.
I dont mind it. The trope got popular because, when done well, its quite delicious. On that note; hey Perez, did Tia bring her own engagement ring to the negotiations or do you just permanently keep one in your pocket just in case?
While they have feelings for each other, the law of their empire is that the empress (would be tia's position in case of marriage) cannot be a matriarch (
While they have feelings for each other, the law of their empire is that the empress (would be tia's position in case of marriage) cannot be a matriarch (the position tia actually wants) due to conflict of interest. So for now, whatever feelings they have with each other is not their priority, as the title says, tia will be the matriarch in this life.
Spoiler: they'll make a way for her to be both later on, let me know if you wanna know how, it is major spoiler though
Ooooh I want to know pls!
Perez cannot change the law since it will be abuse of power, what he will do is he will threaten the emperor that he won't be accepting the position of the crown prince if he will not sign the change in law that would allow the empress to be the matriarch of her family.
At this point in the story, Astana is already revealed as a failure of a man and it would bring shame to the King if Astana will become the crown prince. And since he has a huge ego, he will accept Perez's proposal and sign the law change. This is all while the King is on his deathbed iirc since the empress will poison him.
i see your point, I guess we just haven't reached the part where they break down the contents of the contract. If the contract is not time-based, but instead about perez implementing a law allowing tia to be the matriarch for their marriage to come about, i'll be quite happy. That would be a refreshing take on the contract marriage trope
