Y’know, even now there’s a small part of me desperately hoping that red is going to be okay. I hope it’s all a big ol’ misunderstanding and he actually doesn’t have the ring (or if he does he returns it easily), at that he’s going to take rejection like a champ and not be weird or creepy about it.
I know… I’m probably delusional, but I’m going to pretend everything is okay for a little while longer.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really find the Prince and Suu’s relationship that toxic?
I just binge read this whole thing today and LOVE it, but I was a little hesitant to start reading because nearly all the comments I saw were about how crazy and evil and abusive the Prince is and how messed up their relationship was, but upon reading this it’s really not that bad?
Like sure, it’s not all butterflies sunshine and rainbows, but it’s actually not as toxic (in my personal opinion) as half of the comments are making it out to be.
Personally I don’t even think the Prince is that crazy, like sure he hurt Suu but that’s only after Suu betrayed him multiple times and more so to stop Suu from doing something he may regret. I love Suu, but I think most of the toxicity from their relationship is his own doing by not trust the Prince and constantly pushing him past his limits and betraying him.

I don't find it toxic either! I think they are really similar to each other and would compliment each other well if they open up to each other...
idk why people think its toxic, as the story showed us, people who aren't smart and manipulative in the palace would get themselves killed, so ofc the personalities of the prince and Suu turn out that way. Despite the circumstances, they both still relied on each other in their own way, eventhough they didn't show it openly so tbh i'm just here waiting for them to reunite tbh

I love this manhua, but I find it’s rushing through the story so quickly that it loses the tension.
Like bada bing bada boom everyone is dead and the war is immediately over, and now the Emperor is captive but immediately he’s freed. Where is the tension? Where is the flavour??
I think I give myself more anxiety thinking about what’s going to happen than actually reading the story.
I’d love to know what on earth is going on. First they call him the fourth prince, right hand man to the king and brother to the crowned prince; next they call him the king. First they say that his mother is the Empress Dowager (I.e. mother of the King), but next scene they say that his mother is the Empress. What’s going on?
Also, have they even been married? I saw no marriage scene but they’re talking as if they’re already married.
They don’t get married till like chpt 17 or 18
'King' is simply a title. I assume there's been a bit of mistranslation in the middle. So he's probably the son of the Emperor and the brother of the Crown Prince and he has the title of 'Devil King'.
I'm not sure about the Empress part. Considering their relationship, it's possible the Empress is his step-mother but then again it doesn't make sense if he's the son of Empress Dowager, so I assume there's a lost-in-translation moment here haha.
The later chapters most likely have some mistranslation. Anyways ML is
- the Goblin /Devil King
- brother to the emperor AKA his twin is the king
- that makes the mother, Empress Dowager.
But I'm guessing shes also holding the powers of Empress since its empty.
Thank you! This makes so much more sense
