Look, I wasn’t a huge fan of either Eugene or Cain when they first appeared (I didn’t dislike them, I just didn’t mind that they probably aren’t the ML), but these last few chapters have made me fall in LOVE with them. They have such a good friendship between all three of them, I vote for a poly/harem ending!

I hate hate HATE plots that revolve completely around misunderstandings. I personally find them to be very lazy writing that can be easily solved by either talking or even just using your eyes and brain to workout the truth.

I’m predicting that he’s going to think the Prince of Yan hates him because that soldier said he wanted him castrated.
1. If he wanted you castrated and the first attempt failed, he’d just order it to be done again or he’d just do it himself, but he doesn’t
2. It was obvious that soldier was lying. If he wasn’t why would he run away?
Putting the fact that the soldier ran away and the Prince or Yan never tries to castrate you again wouldn’t you put that together that the soldier was lying? NOPE! The plot relies on stupid misunderstandings.

I like transmigration stories, but I find some of them rely on misunderstandings so much that it makes the first half of the story void.
1. Hug the protagonist thigh so he doesn’t kill me
2. End up doing the exact thing that will cause my demise
3. Be so scared that the protagonist is going to kill me that I act stupidly and become oblivious to everything but my own preconceived ideas.
Like, I just want to bonk his head so he forgets everything about the plot and can see the Prince of Yan as his real person instead of a protagonist destined to kill him.

I really love this story, it’s one of my favourite historical transmigration stories, but I just hope the author isn’t going to rely on silly misunderstandings for too long. Both I and the characters lose IQ the longer it goes on.

I agree 100%. Im a writer myself and lord do i hate misunderstandings like this. Especially if it lasts waaaay too long

    Electra November 8, 2020 3:52 am

its honestly hella annoying and I hatr those tropes too
It’s more common in the chinese comics/donghua and the misunderstandings last for sooo long, and once one gets understood then another one pops up
and these problems could’ve been solved with a 2-min intelligent convo but they really making it last for years/months on end

Look, I like the sex scenes *bark bark woof woof*, but I’m really wanting to know what happens with the plot. I’ve had this bad feeling that one of the coworkers are going to do something for a while now and the fact that they’re not resolving that issue and are kinda ignoring it makes my anxiety level up each time a chapter gets updated.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I’d like to see this play out with her not having a heartwarming relationship with her mum.
I want her and her mum to talk things through, sure, but I could never see their relationship coming past that of cordial and professional distance.

As someone with an awkwardly distant family myself, there’s nothing more I scoff at than stories that have neglectful or abusive parents that one day magically wake up and love their kids and become one big happy family. I’ve seen too many mangas that have the ~forgive and forget~ storyline to them.

So no, I don’t want he mum to see the baby born and suddenly become Grandma and Mother of the Year, nor do I want her to talk to her daughter or son in law and suddenly wake up to everything she’s ever done wrong. I just want our MC to start a new family with her (soon to be) husband and his family and everyone that cares for her.

This might be very unpopular because it’s not the typical “blood is thicker than water” let’s all make up and love each other trope, but as someone who was told by their mother that she didn’t want me and only had me because my father wanted kids, I really connected to the MC and there’s nothing more I want than for her to cut the toxic people out of her life and move on.

    Breeezy November 7, 2020 11:24 pm

I know you probably don't care but as a member of the "short end of the mom stick" I completely understand where you're coming from. Don't get me wrong in the beginning I always yearned for my moms approval & for her to see me as I truly am but that never happened.

Although throughout my life I only heard her talk shit about me behind my back when she thought I wasn't listening. She waited until I became an adult to tell me how she despised me as a human being. In that moment I was truly prepared to cut her completely out of my life & no this isn't a blood is thicker type of situation & I did cut her off & literally turned off my emotions like it was a switch.

I somewhat kinda empathise with parents that don’t want children but were forced to have them, especially back in the day when it was more conservative and traditional and even nowadays in cultures that are conservative and traditional, because I can’t stand children myself and can barely last 10 minutes in their company, but I also would never have children myself because I know I’d be a terrible mum. I guess I should be grateful that I live in a time and place where I can make that decision.

However I feel like there is a huge difference between being a person that doesn’t like kids and is distant or neglectful (which is still horrible for a child to grow up in that environment), and being someone who verbally abuses and is openly toxic towards their children. I’m really sorry you had to grow up with a mother like that, and I’m so glad you’re able to cut her out of your life. Now if only our protagonist can do the same…

Children are NOT for everybody & I agree people who don't want to have children shouldn't be forced to. (Also I'm not trying to shove the idea of having a kid down your throat but if you ever decided to be a mom one day strive to be the mom you always wanted).

Honestly I like children at won't point i wanted to be a teacher & I have taught children of all ages & idk they just naturally gravitated towards me. (Idk maybe it something to do with me being the youngest & always wanting a younger sibling ).

Anyway everyone is different & Hee-Won I can relate to her in some ways (I actually have been in her shoes before). & idk I'm kind of hoping she moves on with her life & not wait for her mom to come around because lets be honest if her mother wanted to be there for her she would be.

See I don’t like the blondie, I read spoilers a while back and even if I didn’t it’s pretty obvious that she’s a bitch, but I don’t think she’s a total villain for taking credit. It’s probably what any noble would do in her place.
What I DO find totally stupid is her CONTINUOUSLY taking credit even when grilled about it. Like, the prince obviously knows somethings sus when he’s continuously asking, so just say that you AND your maids baked the damn cookies.
She also hired Marie because she knows that Marie is close to the Crowned Prince and she knows how much the Prince values her, so if the Prince is asking suspicious questions wouldn’t you assume that he (being close to Marie, you know… the whole reason you hired her) probably suspects that Marie had part to play?
Like, how dumb can you be to hire someone because they’re close to the Crowned Prince but also expect the Crowned Prince to be totally oblivious to their skills and not suspect that that’s the reason you’ve swiped his closest maid.

So freaking dumb... the blondie is just so dumb. And it all could’ve been avoided if she said that she made them or did that with the help of her maids. That way she still would’ve gotten credit without lying.

right?! like why CANT you admit, like its a secret btwn 'just the two of you', that a 'dear friend' helped you w/the dress? then admit that your 'friend' you mentioned before assisted w/the cookies....or just, ya know, HELP MAKE THE GAWL DAMM COOKIES?! (/TДT)/

    BlueEyes November 4, 2020 12:42 am

Honestly she would have looked better if she had done a portion of it with our MC's guidance. Then she looks close to the maid he is close to while taking credit for our MC's OP-ness. She just straight up didn't think this through.
    Spoilers please

I only read this from a spoiler thread so I don’t know if it’s 10000% true, but the Crowned Prince basically calls her out for lying about her skills and stealing Marie’s ideas. After that she becomes really upset and starts bullying Marie. I don’t remember what happens but she puts Marie in physical danger where Marie gets really hurt (or could have gotten seriously hurt). The Crowned Prince saves Marie and then confronts Racheal and kicks her out? Or maybe impressions her? I don’t remember.
    Hope this was enough info!!

See, I really like Kiel, I liked him before I even liked the Crown Prince; but I really only see their interactions as friendship.
I actually really like that I only see their relationship as platonic, because platonic friendships are amazing and should be valued just as much, if not more than romantic relationships. In a lot of romance stories like this you have the male romantic lead, the female romantic lead, and maybe a wildcard third romantic side character, but very rarely do we actually get to see just healthy and strong friendships with our main character.
I kinda shipped them at first, but now I just really love their friendship and I hope the author doesn’t delegate him to the Unfortunate Second Male Lead role, but keeps him as a cherished friend.

oh I agree with your first part, but no I think he's a better ML than the Crown prince. I mean oh she's you maid and she serves you hand in foot, and she plays music for you to relax to and all that geez of course you like her, give me a break! Friendship is a better place to start a relationship than being someone's servant.

I suppose that’s true, but I’ve read numerous romance stories between someone who’s a servant (Emma comes to mind) that can be well done. I just like Real since he’s clearly a person who tries to be good, even though they are in a position in life where they have to make the tough and sometimes horrible decisions.

I'm not saying he's a bad guy, waaay better than some other MLs in other mangas sure thing. It's just a bit thin to be falling in love for someone that miraculously happens to be an expert in whatever you need at the time you need it, and oh goodness she's gonna end up being exactly the princess he needs to marry to achieve the best peace possible. It's telling that she's still afraid of him, he hasn't done anything to win her affection, while for him to choose her it's a no brainer.

    kyanma November 4, 2020 12:35 pm

Yeah I really like Rael as well. The novel actually depicts him as kind and genuine. He just has no other choice but to put up a front (and a mask) in order to fulfill his goals.

neonpoop November 2, 2020 4:26 am

Interesting, a bit of a dark romance like Palace Of Bardo or Silent Lover. The only downside is that this seems a bit rushed with the finer details of the plot missing. The author most likely assumes you’ve read the novel before reading this. It’s not particularly hard to follow even with the fast pace, but it does feel a little rushed and incomplete. I hope they will slow the story down and start fleshing out the plot and characters better.
