Okay, first of all; I feel so sorry for that poor manservant! I hope nothing bad happens to him!
And I adore the little rivalry between the ML and the sister. Fight for Zay!
Now, onto the real comment, I actually love how dark and manipulative they're making the ML. Like, yeah he has his sad past, but he's totally a demon now and I love how the author isn't pulling any punches or making him ~secretly good~ or anything.
He's bad. I love him yet I still gasp when he has that nasty look in his eye, or when he is happy that Zay can't remember. He's such a sneaky sly bastard and god... I love that the author hasn't made him good just because he has feelings for Zay.

Yeeezzz. I think thats also what attracts me to the story (aside from Azephs face haha)
He is a bad man. Like we've long abandoned that "tormented good guy" character but hasstepped into the active "evil and proud of it" character.
Which is why I think his character development would be super interesting because even if it were Azephs upbringing that twisted him, there is no part in him right now that wishes to be good in spite of being in a place where he can (granted it be difficult but the point is he can freely do so now.)
Like how can a guy who literally and genuinely cares about only himself start thinking that other people matters too? What kind of journey would he have to be forced on? What kind of self realization will be there?
Will he finally be as beautiful within as he is outside???

Okay okay okay okay!! I know I'm gonna be hated for saying this but - I hate that magic Disney princess magically making animals fall in love with you smuck.
The Duke has just stated that this horse is a reward, but then goes on to think "wow, this horse is meant to be untamable and unmanageable". First off, why would he give her an aggressive horse as a reward?? That seems backhanded as hell.
And without her doing anything more than look at it, suddenly this uncontrollable horse is as docile as a babe. Don't get me wrong, if she had spent time and effort going to the stables and feeding it and trying to rehabilitate the horse and eventually made it love her I'd be all for it, but for this angry horse to just fall in love with her?? For no reason??? Why is she so special? Give me a reason and I'll get over it, but just having a flashback being like ~she loves horses~ isn't enough to convince me that she can magically tame an uncontrollable horse better than any experienced horsemen.
So, A; fuck the Duke for giving her a horse that he himself has been told is 'aggressive' and B, no more Disney princess stuff. We already like the main character, you don't have to make her an animal whisperer to beat in to us that she's good.
And C, we didn't need the Duke thinking that the horse was uncontrollable for it to be a heartwarming scene. It was already cute to see how well her and her horse got on, it was already lovely to see that she's wanted a horse since childhood, having the Duke make out that she's ~extra special~ because she made this horse randomly like her didn't need to be in the scene to make the audience like it.
But no one else has complained and now I feel a bit mean to make such a big deal outta nothing BUT! It has to be said. I like this character, but I hate the trope of making a character needlessly special to beat into us that they're "good".

He never said that Raven was aggressive or uncontrollable. All he said was that he was the most challenging. It was never stated that Raven was tamed or untamed which I'm going to guess tamed because they was a care taker for the house who actively lived in a stable. I'm not hating on you but some of the things you said weren't true and it is a pretty annoying cliched traited but so for I don't think Ebony as it. I think she just as a knack for horseback riding and the author wanted to give her a horse but didn't want to put in the time to give a strong back story with her and said horse.

Sorry I made some mistakes.
╥﹏╥

Hmm, I know he didn't say that I was being melodramatic (lol), however my point still stands that for the "most challenging" horse there still was no resistance or challenge at all. I love her, honestly she deserves the best, but that scene didn't need the added bonus of the Duke saying that to make her seem extra special. I don't know, maybe I'm being sensitive, but I kinda like seeing her archive her own accomplishments by her own power, not some special protagonist power

maybe that's why he gave it to her. he thinks she's capable of being challenged and rising up. or maybe he's even testing her to see if she can become a not disappointing owner, which he said, for this challenging horse.
and i personally would love to have some magic animal whispering thing going on, so good on her for having it lol

I mean yeah but I have seen people in real life that can get along with troublesome animals in a split second my dog for instance is a unholy bitch but I've seen her be find of people with no backing and I say this cause this hoe has attacked people over nothing she is aggressive but some people have that touch it could be about the same thing

IKR?!! No matter how good and strong the horse is, if it's difficult to manage don't give it to a woman who has no experience handling horses and just recently recovered from horrible injuries and distortions in her body. But at least he I don't think he expects her to immediately hop on on it. He'll probably give her time to learn how to ride and get to know that BEAUTIFUL horse!!!

Hmmm the Prince is an asshole but I hope that the author doesn't go overboard on his character.
The Prince was the original male lead so even though he's not the male lead or love interest in this story he still has to be somewhat likable for the original readers/Princess to fall in love with him right?
I'm just sick of stories making characters absolute assholes to the point that it's OOC so I hope that this author doesn't make his character too strongly of an ass that it'd be hard to see why the original readers fell in love with him

I actually really like the director and I'm sad that this didn't make me ship him with Hen.
The Director is really my type but so is Ivan and I was really wanting to see Hen struggle between two guys and have myself conflicted over who to ship, but I feel like this didn't even give the Director a chance.
The Director arrived too late in this story and didn't have enough solo scenes with him when he did appear. I know I'd probably shipped Hen with Ivan either way but I feel like this ship sunk before it even had a chance to begin and I'm sad on missing out on what could have been.
