I think more than romance or anything else I believe that this story and the ending r about the redemption of a man thought to be beyond saving. Even if it hurts, the fact that the chief truly loves her but became selfless enough to let her go and to even be able to find happiness within her happiness signifies his growth as a human being and truly signifies that he’s become a person who can care about others. Sure it hurts that he didn’t get a “happily ever after” but I think he did get the best resolution he could have after everything he’s done. He would have never been truly happy if he got together with Luda because he knows that she truly loves Assistant Lee. Also if he got together with the author or someone else it would make his love for Lida seem cheap and all the stuff he’s doing for her would mean a whole lot less. Eventually he’ll find happiness with someone else because thanks to his love for Luda he learned how to care and be kind. Isn’t that the best ending?

The father revive her for she could be married of to a rich dude for the father anr his wife (I think) to live a luxurious lifestyle

It's her father, but probably step father.
The real owner of this noble house was Grace's real mom. This father married into the house. But people don't like him. They think this guy is never enough to rule or act as a proper Lord of the field.
And apparently this guy, after Grace's mom passed away, secretly found himself a wife and fathered a new daughter without anyone know.
And because the next heir to the house is Grace, this father & his wife planned to poison Grace to death so they can took the inheritance.
But suddenly, the King propose a deal to the father that if he offer Grace to marry the Duke, King will give this father lots of rewards.
But at that point, the original Grace was in coma, so the father try hard to revive Grace.
In the end, original Grace died and new Grace awake.
