I'm wondering if the people in the comments are all early teens..? I feel like there's a lack of critical thinking.
It was a bit parental at first considering the situation and how Ryou and Shunya were so in sync and felt like an older couple to Tsukasa, but I do feel like over the course of an entire half year that dynamic shifted a LOT. Tsukasa is an adult and he quickly shifted into his adulthood fully with the others' guidance.
People can fall in love in only a few months and that's just with dating, but living with someone every single day and sharing your entire life with them, it makes a lot of sense that you'd start to gather feelings, especially with a kind hearted person who is actively helping you. He also didn't just let go of Ryou like nothing, he found closure and Ryou had set the other two up to make sure they can move on together. Shunya clearly still had love for him, but you can love more than one person dearly and still be able to move on, just as many people do who have lost life partners and remarry.
I think it was a beautiful story and endgame was just as cute.
I've said this before but even as someone who loves psych/dark romances this is a hard read and the rape scenes feel INTENTIONAL – but no not in a fetishy way and more like to drive the point home that this is at its core a very dark and heavy story and he lives such a shitty and miserable life. The rape scenes don't feel like they're disguised to be sexy or steamy like in a lot of rape-fetish bl's, they're rough and ugly and hard to get through with clear indication that the MC hates it.
I think it's a device that a lot of darker writers use when they write/show things in detail so that the audience, like the character, doesn't have the choice while reading to just skip over and look away. It puts you in his place and makes you feel just as shitty.
I think this is a well written story and that if people don't like dark/heavy themes then you simply should not be reading this creator's work. There are plenty of sweet/fluffy romance manga out there, look at those.
i mean whether you believe it or not things like illustrating blushing during the rape are innately linked to sexualisation because blushing is tupically linked to enjoyment in sexual scenes in this genre especially (BL). It might not be super intentional but i have to say this author uses rape as a smut bait into the story.
Im an artist too, moreso a painter im not really into digital but i have basic comprehension ma'am/sir. I contexualise it into the actual situation, this is me having a dimensional view of what blushing could mean. Ive read every single story this author has made, by all means i interpret their intentions by what they have shown through their work. Hey, if im wrong then my bad but i really dont think i am at all. Using rape as smut is extremely common in this genre and especially this authors work. i would actually say this might be the best presentation of sexual violence throughout this authors entire collection of works but considering their history of sexualising rape and using it as smut content, I'll "assume" what i want.
Lets be clear here though, this is a presumption based on the patterns and previous works of the author, not an assumption. I think i have very reasonable suspicion for my view of this author and their work, even if im wrong, while i do take responsibility for my words, this author needs to do better.
As an artist myself and as someone who has done research for smut art with complete intention just to observe, I actually disagree that she's fetishizing in this case. A lot of men's faces and bodies go red during anal/certain positions purely bc it's a lot of strain on the body and especially if it's painful, and the pain/complete lack of pleasure in this story is REALLY emphasized. He literally repeats over and over that it's not pleasurable and that he's never enjoyed it, and he truly does not seem to like it in the rape scenes. I think the blush is genuinely just meant to make it seem like his face is turning red in this case from the strain + a natural bodily response
I don't think this deserves as much hate as y'all give it
It wasn't a fluffy and wholesome story. It was really emotionally taxing to read but it was realistic and the characters feel and react like real people, including when they make sometimes infuriating stupid decisions– but they still make some sense and it's not just poor writing. They're not bad people or characters, they're just not super black and white and have nuances but people immediately see a mistake or bad thought that either comes from a reasonable place or is something even good people irl will do and then mark them down bad characters with bad writing. Uke is definitely a morally grey character but I think that makes this more interesting than the typical perfect victim or complete whore tropes that most bl stories dish out. Seme is a good and upright character that has fallen to his knees because of love and like many good people have done, makes rash decisions because of it. The relationship has been a struggle for them both but they're trying to make it work and I think it's refreshing to see this type of relationship for once vs. Super toxic ones with no chemistry or perfectly happy soul mates (even though I'm a sucker for those too). The side stories were definitely a wreck and it would have been as a reader to get a lovey dovey treat after the emotional rollercoaster that the main story was but honestly that's a lot to expect considering how rocky their relationship was even til the end.
I think a lot of BL stories have had much worse communication and far more unrealistically stupid responses to that lack of communication and yet they get a loooot less shit than this one. Maybe because these characters are a bit more dimensional than we're used to, so they're probably striking more nerves or something m b
Because honestly there are worse couples and characters with a lot more popularity.
The art is a little offputting now? Is it just me? Like some shots are straight up gorgeous bur their faces are....off
AsIDE FROM THAT THO I'M LITERALLY GONNA COMBUST THEY'RE SO CUTE I'M KICKING MY FEET
i think the lip bite was supposed 2 b exaggerated for comic relief nd the eyes r slightly a bit 2 tilted at times like the panel w Cirrus smiling behind the building. They're really well shaded and the lineart is smooth tho so ig the artist cant afford spending too much time on getting the right proportions. Still looks silly LOL

Goodbye my sweet, overly horny babies...I'm so glad you found happiness♡
