First off, I thought we all knew director was a man ⚰
But second, I don't think the resolution was half-assed or not right, as someone who had been married for 5 years at this point, I think it's realistic. Minato got to yell and directly get his point across, while also processing his own trauma and trying to do it in a way that doesn't turn him into the person his mother was, while Shizuma understood that Minato wasn't going to do what Mika would, but he now has heard directly that he needs to do more to put Minato's mind at ease. At the end of the day, they were touch starved and hadn't had an actually good conversation or a sweet moment so they got what they needed off their chest and spent much needed time together. It was emotional and realistic and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. People don't tend to resolve every detail in a single conversation.

If Shizuma doesn't get his act together and actually listen to what Minato is saying, there's going to be a huge problem there. Shizuma said he doesn't know anything until Minato tells him, but now Minato has told him exactly what he wants so Shizuma better put in an effort to make stronger boundaries, say no, and instead of thinking up excuses to make Minato not angry, he just needs to stop putting himself in the situations that would upset him. Minato is well aware of his flaws and is actively trying to -better himself- so that they can work, but Shizuma's entirely relying on his natural green flags (and sure, there are a lot) rather than trying to go out of his way to be better, and as readers we can see that
Alright y'all I super bet black haired one is gonna win this! Ofc red-haired guy is getting the uke more riled and up atm, it's clear there were past feelings there and they literally lived together for years vs. The guy he had literally only met for one day. I think at the most, red hair guy might get a single chance for redemption but he's gonna fumble or black haired guy is gonna have more of the uke's heart by then and uke is gonna end up with the black haired guy who actually actively shows and tells the uke that he cares!
