By the top comments, I didn't think I would make it past chapter 10, but omg this is way better than I thought it was going to be. And I'm in love with the ML and FL's relationship. I'm so glad the author decided to go with the puppy dog love troupe rather than the cold hearted ML sweeping the FL off her feet type of troupe. He is such a sweetheart, and she was so smitten with him too.
And although it might not be everyone's cup of tea, I totally prefer the brainwashing troupe instead of the jealous og FL causing problems bc of a man. It makes everything simple and also narrows down the problem to one villain instead of a jealous woman, and a mastermind just using her. I'm sick of authors using that troupe bc it just feels so shallow and easy.
Anyways 10/10 story for me.
It's the fact that I read the og novel and they made this story with ZERO context The ML was also so much nicer to the MC in his actions and words, and he lowk yearned for him. And the novel showed the MC's thoughts clearer and how much guilt he felt for loving the ML. And I also like their relationship better in the novel, made the characters seem real.

Bruh, I couldn't care LESS, like it's physically impossible for me to care less about them having sex, brochacho. I want the main couple. Didn't even read the chapter when they came up, I just skipped all of it and suddenly the chapter was over. Like ik ur lying to me right now. Can't we just have the main story now, and the author make their story like a seperate thing?

I get these depressive episodes every so often, and every time I do, I come back to this manga. My favorite part is where he's in a slump, and the mc takes him to his green house to sunbathe. And he gives his little speech about plants and humans being similar, that we just need sun and nutrition, it just lifts my mood.

The MC is really stupid. Who tf runs away like that? I mean, you couldn't have just waited in a blind spot until the emperor left, but instead, you had to wait in the stable where his horse resided? I mean, she was even listening to their conversation that explicitly stated that was his horse. And she tried to run away with it? What tf did she expect?
The emperor can eat shit for all I care. He's so cheesy and a carbon copy of the MLs that say "she's so interesting".
The emperor's mother needs to grow a backbone. As a mother, teach that boy some respect. She ain't a young girl anymore, hasn't been for a long time. She should have started educating him properly when the boy was young. Bc I know that she was sold off young, around 16 or smth. Idk when she had the baby, but she had a few years before the kid grew up. She had plenty of time to cope with her situation and make the best out of it. Like, ik in those times, it was normal for girls her age to get sold off. It's fucked up, but surely she had to know and be at least somewhat prepared.
The MC's maid pissed me off so much. Like, as a friend of the MC, you can at least have her back. The maid was trying to be optimistic, but you could at least console the MC. She just got sold off as a hostage, and all you can say is "gut it out and have the baby". Like whose side are you on rn?
Mom definitely died. It was like a small redemption for her before death. Next thing you know, Meg will write back saying that the mom didn't even make it back home.
I feel bad for the mom and I'm glad that the MC kinda talked to her mom, but the mom was still horrible.
And I'm so glad the MC resolved to get the kids out of there. It's such a toxic environment. I know it probably won't even happen, but the fact that she's sticking up for them is enough. To think that the oldest was stuck there for all his life, no wonder he lashes out a lot.
