Annoying immature uke. Seme is right, they live in a world where normal morals don't apply anymore. Their guidline is survival, not the lacy little societal codes they lived by in a normal world. The seme went out of his way to help the uke, got his suitcase at risk to his life because the uke threw a tantrum, he made an exception for the uke, while the uke lost the map, blamed the seme for protecting both them from a violent guy about to stab both of them, and then had the audacity to judge seme's upbringing? Fuck that dude, seme throw that pos out the door. Or keep him around for sex, whatever. But seriously, what an ungrateful asshole the uke is, acting like a privileged brat. What does he even know about the seme's past or what he went through to willy nilly judge him like that? and even if he doesn't, does he not have the common sense to understand what the seme must have been through if he has survived for so long and is helping his ass too??? Whiny, useless, judgmental, immature liability of a partner.

But really my grudge is with the writer, uke's character does not read believable, it reads amateur. High stake actions in an end of the world situation, a constant fight or flight mode situation literally changes your neural networks which basically means that a normal sensible person trying to survive (uke was also on his own before he met seme) would actually get seme's thinking without judging him willy nilly. I hate this type of characterisation fr.

Tonikaku November 10, 2025 11:41 am

Aww, Poor Yoongun. He can be a jerk but his character is believable, and he can be endearing at times. Also like how the uke is handling his tantrums, he isn't being too harsh, but he also isn't coddling the seme. Dont mind this development. In any case, decently written characters.

Tonikaku November 11, 2025 12:44 am

This is pretty boring, weak silly tropey writing. Uninteresting generic characters as of now, ah I guess if it doesn't get better in the next few chapters, will drop it. It seems kinda silly that uke would just forget about spending all that memorable time with his best friend because he felt bad at his leaving. His current reactions show no sign of past abandonment trauma either. He literally went to summer vacations, was in the football club with him, had winter ski vacations with the seme and just forgot all those memories just like that? Fr?? Writer, at least come up with something credible. He just seems like naive happy go lucky dumbass, like really who tries to remove sweat beads from someone's face? Tears i get, but sweat from working out? For real? whereas the seme comes off as needlessly stiff (which really makes him look bad tempered) for someone who really cherished his childhood friend. Like i get the author is trying to establish awkward one sided attraction between a gay dude and straight guy in a living together situation but they are not really doing a good job of it. Amateur writing.

It seems like na-in was or is a god as well, and he was captured, probably snatched from Gwen by amon. So amon, assisted by his head priest who does the shady jobs for him, holds memory cleansing rituals for na in. That's why na-in has rogue memories appearing in his dreams as well as waking state. And gwen, who also seems to be a god or at least superhuman, has come to get na-in back from Amon. The reason why he is so forward is because he knows he has the power to fight amon if need be.

Aww. I am curious to know what happened to na in during the ritual and why he didn't need any prep. Even his guards knew what was up but he didn't. Sounds sinister.. meanwhile gwen is hitting on him blatantly, it's only a matter of time amon gets to know. And the whole thing about the feather in hair, and it reminding amon of the person who played that music he remembers 500 years ago, that must be related to na-in's past. He doesn't remember a lot about his past and can't place a lot of things or how they happened which gels with the memory wiping ritual.

Oh but don't give spoilers. Hypothesising is fun.

I really like how non neurotic the uke is. He is a mature, rational, emotionally well regulated guy (which is rare to see in bl manhwas, the ukes are typically drowning in their own insecurities and inferiority complex) who understands Moogyum's situation and disposition even though his own love is unreciprocated. It's absolutely reasonable that moogyum prefers casual relationships to serious ones, given he is a big global athelete star who needs to keep his focus on his game to be able to perform well, his ambition and dedicated effort is praiseworthy. He is disciplined, considerate and a good friend, a good student, despite his own unfortunate background. And hajoon knows how to draw boundaries so that moogyum can retain his focus on his game, he takes his position as his coach seriously. Moogyum at the moment is feelings things he has never felt before, so even though he is trying to not get attached, he definitely is. He carefully looks for Hajoon's reactions when he does something for him, and gets disappointed when it's not something he expected. What this shows is that he is trying to gauge uke's reactions and the depth of Hajoon's feelings for him and that itself is an indicator of deeper bonding than hookup sex. It's cute that he is slowly falling for Hajoon without realizing it, and that is completely in character for him. Of course the angst that the writer wrote is delicious, where the uke keeps getting a romance reality check, it does makes me feel a bit sad for the uke, given how likeable and honest he is, but it's obvious it will all come together at the end, the joy is in watching how as long as the writer maintains the pacing of the narrative.
But that's the thing, that the seme haters on this comment section might benefit from. Just because one likes the uke doesn't automatically make the seme a cruel insensitive bastard. Their dynamic is realistic and functioning well inside the character traits given to the characters by the author. It's possible to enjoy a story without carelessly assigning blame to a character. The uke knows where he stands with the seme and their relationship, so he finds moments of joy in what he knows is a temporary relationship. And seme finds comfort and relief in the uke, that he couldn't ever find in anyone he went out with prior. That it a good start of a relationship that goes beyond a skin deep relationship. It's not just the seme's face card the uke likes, like so many other bl manhwas, he appreciates him for so much more which makes his feelings for him well rounded and mature. And the seme likes the uke for his best qualities too, his mature outlook, his well balanced personality, his professionalism, which really does make the seme's challenging and stressful job easier. They are well suited to each other and they will realize it eventually. But this give and take is what makes a good relationship, and a good read.

Tonikaku November 7, 2025 6:07 pm

I like stories like this one. As in, manhwas where sex isn't a plot device essentially written for the cheap thrills (looking at you, Omegaverse and guideverse), where there's an actual plot (looking at you PWPs that masquerade as stories but are failing at it), an actual story that makes narrative sense, where the main characters don't just jump into having gratuitous sex and there is actual development (looking at....well it's hard to name them, they are so maaaaany) and the writer has done their research and due diligence before writing the story (looking at all the manhwas set in Russia or with russian characters, or where MC is a spy and others).

I like that the characters have goals, aspirations, the uke has a solid personality that doesn't just revolve around the seme (looking at you jinx, and many others), the seme isnt a sex crazed jealous maniac with his brain in his dick, and the macro story goes beyond their relationship. A well rounded story, that explores not only the characters but also encapsulates the time, location, culture, era, the weltenschauung. I have read easily two hundred bl manhwas but well written stories, i can count on my fingers. Although the length of schlongs in this bl is disturbingly unnatural like in most manhwas, but oh well, we pick our battles.

I have a recommendation for you if you don't mind? It's called Reunion if you haven't read it yet. It's a really good story!

Hakyung was struggling to support his family financially when he was approached by a man with an offer to let the MC, Hakyung, impersonate the identity of Han Jiyoung, a girl from his past, or let's just say they were friends. They did it in order to deceive the chairman of Taewon Group into believing he was really her.(Because Hakyung contains the memories of Han Jiyoung and Han Jiyoung was someone the chairman trusts or values in some way )

If he succeeds on winning the Chairman, he wouldn't be worrying about money again, which is to pay for his younger brother's school and his mother's hospital bills.
Until the chairman’s grandson, Yoonsung, showed up and he already knew Abt the past people who tried to impersonate Han Jiyoung which was his father's doing, and also the Chairmans son.
The story features crossdressing, memory loss, drama and conflict which I really recommend because unlike the typical overused stories, this one is fresh, emotionally deep, and the arts style is gorgeous af the way the artist draw the silhouettes making each chapter really elevate the story and making it feel alive. Actually I stalked you so sorry huhu I was skimming through your rated stories and I did find some promising ones(which I'll be reading probably) and I stumbled upon your opinion or rate about Reunion and I have never felt so dumb– Of course, not every story is for everyone and it is truly understandable that some people do not enjoy every story, which is why we have preferences. And that's true because every story wont resonate with every reader. And some stories may not be to everyone's taste and I completely understand that and I'm sorry again

There's no way the heir of a steel company, a chaebol would casually give information about one of his own ilk, the ML, to someone like the uke who is as broke as he can be, and definitely not just because the uke asked. That's not how the rich behave. Rich people share that kind of insider information with their own class, either that or when they have an ulterior motive, a more sinister objective. That so called friend of ML knows he has no chance of getting it with the uke, and anyway the rich keep their friends and casual fucks separate. They will never allow them to mingle at level playing field. This divide is much bigger in status obsessed korea than most other asian countries. Writer do better please. I am not even korean and even I get that.

    somnia November 1, 2025 11:20 pm

I think it was shown pretty clearly how that prissy wanna-be friend of ML is a morally unhinged loose cannon who pretends to be friends with ML for the sake of snitching to his big sis - who is also doing most of the shit he does (like giving Gunmu intel) for pure shits and giggles?

At the end of the day rich people are just people with more money, it's crazy that you ignore how much of an obvious bitch this guy is and assume that just because he's a chaebol this oddly specific blueprint applies to him. Like idk what to call this? Reverse classism? Crazy work brother.

Making an observation is hardly reverse classism. Believe it or not, it's a pretty strictly followed blueprint in korea. And this author keeps using pretty convenient and low hanging writing devices that read tacky.

I agree that that friend is shady, but I would hardly call him unhinged. He is just an opportunist, which is also pretty typical of the uber rich. However it is possible that he did that for shits and giggles. It still doesn't read that believable to me, as a lot of the writing in this manhwa doesn't, but you have a point.

The uke is such a bad spy. Just like that uke in red candy. Why won't you wear a mask if you are gonna raid someone's office? Is it any wonder his face was caught on surveillance camera? How come they dont hear someone approaching when they are sneaking around in someone's home? And how come they get so frazzled and nervous when they are caught? Spies are supposed to be quick on their toes and always remain composed no matter the situation. Writer at least make me believe your characters. Like how many stupid avoidable mistakes can they make and still appear credible? Like at least get the minimum basic requirements right. There's so much amazing and popular espionage literature in the world, especially the Soviet ones, take inspiration. Also how come these people just randomly bump into each other in a large city? Sure it's a writing convenience but very tacky to read.

    Miza November 1, 2025 10:09 am

I mean... he's supposed to be bad spy. he doesn't really want to be a spy and is only doing it to because of his foster brother. And this is manga, it would take a lot more time to make every little meeting, every detail make 100% sense. It's a bit stupid, sure, but i've just learnt to look passed these things

Sure. But it has been sometime that he has been doing it, one would think he would at least get the basics right, if only to not make his job more difficult than it has to be. Just like common sense stuff even a non spy would understand.

And honestly it doesn't take so much to make two or three panels to show an intentful meeting rather than an accidental one. So Crystal recognizes the uke, she wants to speak with him and just randomly bumps into him a place which isn't even uke's regular hang. It just reads so silly. Small details matter a lot for me because they keep the suspension of disbelief going. One or two I can manage, but honestly most of these BLs have them in great bulks so it's much harder to ignore.
