You can be a playboy and sleep around with people who don't mind being one of many. There's never an excuse to hurt someone. Especially someone young and vulnerable. That makes him a jerk not a playboy.

As someone said below you can't go through life without hurting ppl, wether you want it or not.
What if a person is deeply in love with you but you cut clear and say no, hurting their feelings bc is not reciprocate.
What if you choose having a bike license instead a car knowing your mom is hell scared of bikes, but they're your life passion.

This isn't the 'playboy' character type. This is the 'scum' character type. That's fine to include as a character trait. But people generally don't like the scum character and only want to see them get served.

The original story was pretty sweet. People who like sweet stories are the kinds of people who read this webtoon. When you change that to being a relationship between a scum character and a naive one, you're going to get well-deserved blowback. You brought them in with one genre and switched to the polar opposite.

What I want to know is: you said 'you've got to understand the character'. But I want to know what you want the result of that to be. What does understanding the character in this case change?

You're talking about situations that have nothing to do with the story we're talking about here. The character here is fully aware of what they're doing. Those situations are completely different.

People were wondering why he was ghosting Donhgo , I just explained what's going on. that's it. and in fact he IS a playboy, jerk, shitty ass character idc, whatever you wanna call him.

You can't go through life without hurting people. But you can make choices to avoid causing the least amount of damage. You make it sound as if you saying life is hard so don't take ownership for hurting others. We are responsible for these choices we make. You can choose to do the right thing.

One should take responsibility for all their decisions, good and bad, that's what I think. And that does not interfere with some inevitable scenarios where you can't chose any other option than to hurt the person in front of you. As I said earlier, if you get confessed by someone that loves you deeply but you're not in love, what would you do. Date them? Just to avoid doing any damage? Ain't that... low? I prefer to be honest.

You dismissing my examples won't invalidate them tho. Furthermore when I was talking about "hurting people bc living is hard". That topic has a wide range that includes and surpass this character's behaviour.
