DED has always been a good uploader. I've never seen her snipe other peoples/groups work and usually if not always, uses official translations. It means it can be slower, but the quality is definitely better. I'd take her uploads any day than someone (im not gonna mention their name) who not only uploads over the original translators without warning but also provides lower quality translations (which is fine if they worked on it, but they actually just stole the translation/uploaded someone elses translations).

I understand why people are frustrated, but DED did post a notice on what they were gonna do so this really isn't surprising. Before throwing hate on anyone, check also the uploaders to see if they are the same ones or not. I get the frustration but lets not throw hate on someone who is only providing better quality translations.

Damn... I knew he was r*ped both bec of spoilers but also bec the manhwa did show little hints here and there of the way he reacts when it comes to physical touch... it wasn't hard to put two and two together... what's news to me is how fcking young he was.

Imagine being delirious with a fever and having a woman do those stuff to you wtf.

The age difference, him being 15 when he had Blanche... adds to the context of things. No wonder he is so awkward towards her. We know he doesn't hate her but now, knowing what we know, he was never ready to be a father. Who is ready to be a dad at 15 and from a r*pe at that. Not only was he dealing with the trauma of what happened he was also dealing with the fact that he became Dad, when he himself, was a child. He didn't even have anyone to properly guide him on what to do. He certainly didn't have a Dad to help him out, and I would bet my money on the Mom if it was her fcking suggestion that He have a child at 15.

Man... that's so messed up. And yet, he grew up so well. Yeah he has traumas but still he grew up to be a good person. Good for him

    TwistedCupid July 8, 2021 2:32 pm

I'm still angry at what they took away from him. At 14, he should be playing with toys like Star Wars figurines and reading comics and complaining about homework and riding a skateboard. That's what 14 year old kids should be doing. Instead they robbed him of his childhood. And you know what's so disturbing? He looks like little Blanche as he was laying sickly in the bed as that late Queen pedo was doing awful things to him. Oh my God. I don't understand how he can be so strong.

wait?? are people really commenting that he has DID??

I'm not trying to call out anyone, throw hate/cancel anyone. I just read a comment stating people said Haru had DID and I'm just???

I get jokes and stuff but also people should stop or be more conscious and careful with the mental illness jokes especially when they are stereotypes/generalizations that are incorrect and misinform people of the actual illness. Words like Dissociative Identity or Split Personality and the likes make people think "sociopaths" /"psychopaths" who murder people. Because these illnesses are blown out of proportion or in a disturbing way, glorified in films and literature. That's why what you think is a harmless joke can actually add to the already long list of misconceptions of the actual illness and the characteristics/diagnoses of it. Mental health and illness is still seen as a joke sometimes so I'm sorry if I'm being too serious or sensitive about this topic.

Also, I'm not sure what made people think he had DID. Is it some kind of joke because of how cold he is towards Leo now? Or was it him going into some kind of rampage or something that made people think of it?

Because, in the story, this worlds context, and even irl, that doesn't mean he has DID. He lost control over himself because he literally can't control his powers/ability without that tracker/stabilizer thingy he has. And whatever change of attitude Haru has rn is influenced by the circumstance that he experienced and a conscious decision to act a certain way. Far from what DID is and is characterized as.

I get this is a fictional character and people might have been having fun but I wish people will still be more conscious when it comes to these jokes and misdiagnosing people, even fictional characters. As funny and unbelievable as it may sound, some people actually believe whatever they read or hear without checking facts. While readers are responsible for what they read and choose to believe, commenters should also be responsible for the things they write or post especially when joking/talking about sensitive topics such as mental illnesses.

Wait bestie. I’m also a super advocate for the way that mental health is portrayed in manga, but there is a chapter earlier on that shows that he has a completely separate and functioning personality inside of his own mind. It was around the time we learned of Harus ability back in school. He also lost control of himself right after the attack on the lab and this “alter” took over. Not just his powers running rampant. Plus he really did go through some Trumatic experiences in the lab so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the author to try to pin some type of memtal instability in there

Hey, I really just wanna use vulgar words against you rn... [Myth: People with DID are dangerous or violent. Reality: People with DID are no more likely to be violent than anyone else. There are very few documented cases linking crime to DID. ] You, who isn't a professional in psychology suggesting that Haru has DID because one of the reasons is that he lost control of himself one time and his alter took over him — That is just pure demonizing. Whether Haru had lost control of himself or not, that has 'nothing' to do w DID. I'm not saying Haru doesn't suffers from DID after all. But to diagnose him w DID because of his aggressive phase before his 'alter' took over is very ignorant of you. There is a lot more to study about triggers that causes switching alters and you best put this well inside your head, aggressiveness doesn't triggers switching. You don't just be like, aggressive and now your alter is taking over??

I've read an article written by a psychology student regarding whether Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul suffers from DID or not and the answer was either because it's not something that had been clarified officially nor do we see every second of his life and mind to diagnose him w a DID.

Whilst it is interestingly enough to write a plot w mental illness involved in it, portraying it in a threatening way is non other than demonizing the mental illness itself.

Oh that makes more sense... All i read was people were talking about Haru having DID and i was wondering how they got into that conclusion. I was worried that it was done as a joke or through misinformation or something. But I can see that it can be a possible theory. Like with possible posttraumatic stress from childhood and the whole memory gaps... Now that you mentioned the sort of person he talks to when he sort of losses control, that person inside him/his head did say that whenever Haru wakes up or gets conscious again, he forgets their conversations... I guess I forgot about that part of the manhwa because of how fast paced its kinda been thanks for telling me this

Can I just slap the stupidity out of y'alls head w a chancla for a sec. What theories, don't make me bring my friend who's studying for psychology into here. Stupidity ain't virus, but it sure spreads like one huh. Who in the ignorant narrow minded world suggested this whole theory based on his aggression in the first place?

Its not about the aggression for me... I can only read part of the comment you linked so all I can see is half of whatever theory they had.

So instead I'm gonna talk about the comment under my post and my reply. The commenter under this post stated that they had 2 reasons for the theory: their was a diff personality inside of him and the "possibility" of trauma from the abuse he experienced in his childhood. And the comment reminded me of the chapter where we are introduced to the person "inside" (?) Haru. Whether they are part of him or a separate entity, we do not know and is still a mystery in the whole plot. So whether it is a diff. personality state is not proven. What I was more focused on was remembering that Haru forgets whatever interaction he has with this person/state/entity. And I thought that memory gaps is a characteristic of DID. But that is all. There are several signs and symptoms of DID and what was mentioned was only 3, and most have not even proven enough to be actual signs. Even with these signs/symptoms, there are still certain conditions to be met before it can be diagnosed as such. And that is why I found the theory possible but still doubtful...

I see where the commenters are coming from with this theory. However, it is still too farfetched to be real. Especially when you take into consideration that this is a sci.fi/fantasy story. So I highly doubt that he has DID or that is the route the author would take.

I do not like diagnosing bec I am not a psychiatrist. All I know are information based on DSM-5. Also, as someone who is trying to get a psychology degree I would never misdiagnose a person, fictional or not.

I get the issues with demonizing and the likes. I've stated in my post that I don't like the idea of joking, generalizing or stereotyping mental illness. And it is known that media, films, and literature has a way of demonizing DID. Which not only is a misconception/misinformation it also makes people have the wrong impression of people who have DID. That's why I posted my comment, because I was worried people were joking about it or misdiagnosing him or demonizing the disorder.

However, I don't think that was ever the intention and I did not get that from the comments (?). Maybe I'm wrong but I do not think the focus of the DID theory was ever that he was "aggressive" but more so that it is shown that there is someone else inside Haru that seems to be in control of his body when he is in certain situations. I didn't see the words aggression being thrown around as a reason to back up the "he has a diff personality state" sign. It's not a credible explanation to back up the theory, but I don't think it demonized DID in any way.

I'm not trying to argue or fight or defend because I prefer calm discussions rather than fighting with people. I am just stating how I understood the situation and how I perceived the comment/s.

If people said something along the lines of: He was so gentle and now he is so aggressive and murderous or something negative like that as a basis for the theory then I would have an issue with it bec that place out into the demonizing of an illness. But all that the commenter stated was the clear show of a diff and distinct personality state/ entity inside of Haru communicating with him.

    (⌒▽⌒)

Honestly... I think this is. more of a parasite/host relationship bet. them given the world and plot it is set in ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

    1. I have a family member with DID as well as one with a schizo affective disorder 2. There is no one size fits all to getting a mental health diagnosis which is why there is an entire manual with multiple factors listed. You also have to rule out any other potential illness before definitively saying that somebody has one disorder versus another such as what happens in schizoaffective disorder versus bipolar I disorder or something else. Co-morbidity is also an option in which somebody has multiple disorders at the same time. 3. I never claimed that haru has DID. I said I can see where other people might have gotten that idea based on the stereotypes written into this story. 4. Kiss my ass coño

I agree with all of this. I don’t actually believe haru has DID. I said that TO ME this isn’t an example of a manga that horribly tries to represent mental health conditions. I then gave examples of how that was potentially portrayed/seen from an audience POV. Idk why the other commenters are so mad, nor did I think I needed to shout all of the mental health conditions in my family/I have in order to not be taken as an asshole lol. It wasn’t that serious to me and It makes me wonder if they themselves have mental health conditions because, tbh, it’s super common for people to not understand It and I no longer get angry. I’d rather educate. But hey, that’s why I’m in school (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

Please don't throw hate on Jiro Scanlations... they were the first ones to pick the manhwa and have been uploading the chapters when someone else uploaded before them. I don't know about the others, but I was close to dropping this when I got to chapter 9 because of how bad the translation was. And I know... people are gonna be "if you read it carefully you can understand it" "if you want better translations buy them blahblahblah" and i aint getting into all that shit. I've read shitty translations before BUT when there is a perfectly good translation group translating a manhwa, why should I read low quality translations? I know groups are always fighting over translation rights but Jiro Scanlations were the ones who uploaded the promo and the first few chapters before someone else uploaded above them. And I find that shitty. Let a group thats been working on the translations already, work on it. Please.

Also, if possible someone delete the older translations for chapter 8-12 they were really bad honest to god. Also, I hope Jiro scanlation continues to translate this
