They probably got it from how Hollywood and stage actors/actresses behave. I'm in theatre and hugs and kisses, on the cheek when you're not performing, are greetings of hello and good bye among people who coperate well together. So the Japanese may have misinterpreted that as EVERYONE in America kisses as a greeting.

it was a little anticlimactic like how the transitional scenes must give out something more meaningful before the resolution but I guess it ends well. I might have anticipated more dramatic scenes before they make up. Still, the happy days are yet to be unfolded once again (maybe for now). (=・ω・=)
