bc it gives off percy jackson/child literature vibe where adults just dont listen to kids....but this is honestly taking it a little too far and im a little frustrated. i dont quite understand the reason why shes staying clandestine and hiding her identity though. i mean i get that if she just tell ppl shes the infamous jinny, there would just be more people not believing her or calling her a liar but that dude straight up made a connection and guessed her identity right but she evaded. i truly love this webtoon so much bc this is just a girl hopping on from 1 crazy adventure to the next without a care but its in its 60ths chapters and i honestly dk where this is going, kinda

this feels so much like an edwardian/1800s romance novel. almost instantly jane austen vibe but without the regency dress because of how light, comedic, yet melodramatic it is, from the characterization, the plot flow, down to the color palette used. also + point for this is that the nuance is supported by the almost exclusive british names and theyre not made up or went through magic realism altercation, just straight up correct and real british names.

i wish shes able to claim power for herself, in whatever sense, whether she bails herself and her mother out of the country or regain social status anything would be okay. just wish that shed rub it on every men that clings to her for stupid reasons that she doesnt need lame ass protectors anymore. an even more wishful thinking is maybe in a way she and eris will collude together while still not being friends but i think thatd be highly impossible haha

shes stated to be a child (minor?) but how can a minor sign and close a legal contract for her indenture? something like that should have made her involvement and the document she signed null and void. i had thought maybe it would work if she was somehow sold or forcefully tied as collateral rather than giving herself up of her own volition, but i guess the authors trying to make room for ML to not be entirely criminal ish. well this is just a trivial technical thought ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

We shouldn’t place modern views on a historical manhwa. It just completely dumb since this story isn’t told in the 21st century. As for the father, rumors are is that her father is dead. (We don’t know for sure.) truthfully I believe the father just abandoned them because of the large debt but he was the man of the house but now that he gone. Nobles would take everything he own in replacement of the debt. Including the children/young women. (Most modern loan sharks does that too.) In this timeline they treat women and children as objects. Even worse if they’re lowerclass. Sadly this is how the past (and sometimes the present) was. But in a way that was a better option since let’s think about it. They had a choice of her working as a maid for 10 years or the sick aunt being put into jail. Let’s mention how if the aunt was put into jail and everything they owned is gone she would either end up as a slave, on the street dying of starvation, or prostitution. The option of being a maid is the safest especially since it seems like she would be working for the princess.

is that a lot of them found a way to out of nowhere, out of the blue, seeps lolicon and minor girl fetishes for no purpose at all. yes i know people are being brutally killed in this manga and 'casual pedophilia' might seem like a problem number something to be addressed. but thats also precisely why idg why even bother inserting minor girls boobs or keep drawing and putting her in a male gaze? and to know that this is a very common theme with these genre is very upsetting

it made so much more sense and now i can understand more about helena. in all fairness, shes powerless and probably thought that if she makes trouble, theyll go after her mother again like when they framed her family before. crown prince is the power abusing prick right here, so i guess if anyone wants a punching bag, it should be that asshole instead of helena. women caught up in a mans power struggle, especially when they have imbalanced social/financial standing rarely ever comes victorious, and we know this bc its reality for so many. i mean look at eris, she stood up for herself even long before her body got taken over by an isekaid soul, and shes still the hottest subject of disrespect in the palace bc the one in power is that manchild crown prince of assholedom. helena is trying to find her way to survive, being a maid and the daughter of a criminal, while also being a pet for a maniac. that cant be easy
very eerie and fast paced. although im often confused as either the page is jumbled or the story flow is back and forth, but some chains of events are drawn overlapping so often i didnt understand whats going on until something that concludes the 2 separate events come up
