including this one. a few tens of chapters in, it became palpable that being reincarnated/transported has nothing to do with the plot, well you even forget this stems in reincarnation anyway. some webtoons really just be using reincarnation for the easy and quick skip on world and plot building efforts. the trope used to really be enticing, and this webtoon also used to be enticing, so idk if its burnout from the massive boom of similar tropes or the webtoon really lost something....something that compelled me and a lot of others to like this webtoon im the first place

i feel like if sovieshu and rashta from remarried empress has a spinoff from their pov, this ML and FL is literally the splitting image of them. FL is saved from exploitative, abusive household, doesnt know court etiquette, is meek, still recovering from the trauma she was saved from, and dont know better about aristocratic hierarchy (in short, doesnt know her place), while ML uses everything in his power to keep her from actually performing duties and engage in court in the pretense of protecting/keeping her for himself only. i understand the empress, this might have been quite the scandal to have a legitimate wife whose job is to only look pretty and sate a goblin king.
also makes you appreciate authors and writers more to put things on perspective where you can root for 1 but absolutely despise the other

i made an observation and a comparison, ive never said i didnt like this. i was saying this is a different angle of seeing why sovieshu-rashta works as "love transcends class" in remarried empress and why their indecent grand gesture of PDA is enraging and why this is also works as such in this webtoon but theyre endearing. this is hardly an opinion, this is an appreciation. if you dont like my bad opinion, which is hardly an opinion at all, i dont know why you even bother with me maam

I get that this is your opinion, but tbh if you don't have nothing nice to say don't say it at all. (If you think you didn't say anything bad you literally just said "the FL doesn't know her place") and if I didn't know any better I'd think you don't like the main characters which makes up this whole manga, which also implied that you don't like it. (You don't have to straight out say it, I can just read in between the lines.)

thats alright apologies if i come across as riled up too. maybe i didnt think this through, but the scene when they bit of a part of their fingers and had a moment in their wedding banquet while the crown prince and the empress became appalled is when i realised theyre reacting so much like when i react to rashta and sovieshu whenever theyre on PDA antics. its an imperial formal occasion, but the two of them behave like it wasnt, and everybodys enraged. in remarried empress we see this and be fed up at rashta and sovieshu, but in here we understand why they did it. thats why this practically an appreciation for each authors bc they can take 1 similar nuance and create a whole different reactions from the readers. i have to admit i didnt think through about how people would perceive this lol, i was just thinking out loud, ig

I get what you mean but the difference is one is trash while the other isn’t
Let me elaborate
In remarried empress the emperor and trashta deliberately tried to make our queen look bad. Usually in stories with villains the only reason we side with the ex slave or heroine is Bc the villain is an actual villain who tries to kill the heroine repeatedly but in remarried empress our queen doesn’t do that, she’s a nice person who tried to an extent (given her position) understand her “husband”
In this one our heroine is actually kind and isn’t taking someone’s spot (not being a home wrecker)
I get where u can see some comparisons but there also very different and not something a lot of people want to relate to since one is pure and genuine while the other is manipulated and wrong

I agree, I couldn't help but laugh a bit when I saw how the author used the Cinderella trope for Remarried Empress. I think it's a common trope to see in stories, both positively and negatively, because of how widespread class systems and their issues are.
Seeing a familiar concept being used in a different way, I further appreciate how authors can use the same tropes but get such different reactions from the readers through different points of view and character personalities.

This is pretty different, the Empress here is his mother and the Empress from Remarried is the wife.
Also YY is not actively trying to ruin the Empress' life whereas Rashta is trying her best to do that. AND the Empress here is the one actively trying to ruin their lives while Empress Navier really couldn't give 2 damns.
Also SHY isn't a piece of shit lmao

While I do admit her background is similar (ish- since trashta wasn't abused and was loved by the household son), that is where I see the similarities end.
Our fl is not entering the scene to be a home wrecker. She is the first and only wife. She also is very opposed to ever being in a situation like trashta willing places herself due to the death and treatment of her mother. I also don’t think the the jury is still out on where the ml will continue to keep her from her duties. She can’t read, and they literally just got married. She’s going to need some time to have the chance to learn. I would argue that she fulfills her main duty quite well already- which is granting humanity and love to the ml.
You do have an interesting perspective though, even though I don’t entirely agree.

every other period set time reverse/villainess/isekai has either used a mismatched, all things thrown together, stylised medieval, victorian, or roccoco clothings, sometimes even the mix between the three. some are really disdainful to see and took me out of the story at hand. but this is so.
..ugh tudor and italian renaissance are my favourite silhouette and the florentine dresses on the women here is so gorgeous and the closest to being period accurate. even down to the hair is styled very similarly to the women in the show "the borgias". the rival to this accuracy is "a stepmothers marchen" doing 1 hell of a good job illustrating pre world war 1 baroque holy roman empire style clothings. i just....really appreciate the garment and silhouette choice, literally my first time seeing the usage of florentine renaissance in this heaps of similarly troped webtoon. love it

Aaah I thought I was the only one that thinks that some isekai stories don't make sense with their clothing. I mean it looks good and fits the charavters but idk about their supposed story setting while this one looks a lot more like out of a specific era although I don't know which one and it obviously is not exact to that but still

but chose to reduce her to and bring forward her stereotypical petty love rival traits....and its pretty devastating. she has so much potential to be explored, i hope we see developments

Especially since she was first presented as a woman with ambition, that didn't want to be tied down by her gender. When we consider the fact that she has what Sienna lacks (experience living among the common people) and lacks what Sienna has (experience with court manners, the power dynamics, and everything that follows) she could have been a great friend for her, had it not been for this petty rivalry that feels a bit forced.
It's a shame considering how well the other characters are written

they deprave her of confidence, adequate training, and education by sending her off to an island fief, she married someone she met on that island, when she was named sole heir, she was made to believe that the best course of action was to relinquish her formal duties to king consort, and now king consort is in charge of everything and she doesnt know anything about anything at all. she being kept in the dark, and the countess who "misspoke" i take from their conversation is actually slipping details about things that would make her aware of courts' innerworking i think? maybe?? i might be reading to much into this
he knew her from when she was 13/14 while he was already past college age....while this is still grey area bc they are together far after minhee is legal, the thought process of having your childhood caretaker seeing you romantically/sexually is still barf for me. but other than that, i love this webtoon sm, when minhee play for herself bc its her she loves the most in the world....it was like a full circle of survival. i love that.
i totally agree w u
