Um..........this was in English? Right? Why do I feel like I read a diary of someone having a mushroom trip ( ̄∇ ̄")
To put it simply, he liked reading stories with princes and princesses....like fairytales and books in general, so he decided to....become a dresser/household staff member of actual royals....and the blonde handsome daddy wasn't what he was expecting....so he's disappointed....even though he looks fine af and he's packing??
I vote for the duke to be the top ofc because dayum boi, those thighs....I've never fancied being choked by thighs, but just give me a shout and I'll be there hahahaha

Yeah, smelling the perfume and buying it because it reminds you of your ex....bruh...but I kinda also get why he would like it. He shouldn't have bought it, or chosen something else after smelling it once and reminiscing...but when you miss someone that bad - you start seeing them in stranger's faces and smell their fragrance like this and kinda lose your mind, or if you hear their voice from afar.... it's so hard to get over people, but the seme shouldn't be in a relationship, if he's still so attached...or better still, tell your new partner about it honestly. It wouldn't be a pleasant conversation, but honesty about these things is ALWAYS the best option. It actually strengthens the bond since you trust them enough and their love for you enough that you could share this with them..and the other party should be understanding as well, or it would definitely go to shit.

I don't know why people are thinking Heegyeom is suspicious...isn't it pretty clear that in the time they were apart he cooled down and actually missed our Jaehan so much...and seeing him trying his best to make it up to him (and also I think he was jealous of the new girl) and all that...I think he was moved by how much the Jaehan wanted to make it up to him by investing so much money from his own pocket just because he knew how upset he was back when they changed the script...he came to comfort him (that even though it was a lie it wasn't a lie)
I think after his anger cooled down, and the look on the jaehan's face when they broke up, he knew he was beyond hurt but didn't say anything. I don't think Heegyeom is going to take revenge, he's just not that kind of chatacter I think. Also if Jaehan framed him, he also made him overdose before...so he must have taken that into account in these 6 months....also he knows what jaehan is like...he"s impulsive and likes hurting people's feelings when he's pushed in a corner...like the time.he called him a prostitute when he was triggered, but later sincerely apologized and tried to make it up to him by buying a house for them and tried to take it all back...I don't think Heegyeom has forgotten any of it...
idk I don't see him as suspicious at all.

He framed him for drug possession which would ruin his career because he felt bad about the fact that he wanted to smash. He also was aware of the fact that the movie was getting ruined and was actually fine with that fact. He got mad at Heegyeom for calling himself a prostitute, AFTER HIMSELF calling him a prostitute. Heegyeom did not "make him" overdose, he did give him A pill but Jaehan was already high out of his mind with substances he had voluntarily taken. On episode 28 Heegyeom clearly said this was him repaying him with his body for the film. And lastly, Jaehan does not deserve forgiveness just because he paid for the reshooting, that is the definition of trying to buy someone's feelings off. And him "feeling bad" does not fix other people's trauma.

Um.....why are you summarising the manhwa for me? I have already read it.
I don't see what you're saying has anything to do with what I commented.
I said heegyeom wasn't suspicious or prone to taking revenge after they were separated for 6 months and he clearly has come to terms with what happened...of course he went forget it but he knows Jaehan's personality.
I did say he was framed for no reason and heegyeom was feeling apologetic towards him for making him overdose as well (also having sex with him when he wasn't conscious...so nonconsensual sex, I.e. repe, even if it was done under ecstasy)
Also he did let the film get ruined (when it was already getting ruined) but now he's obviously going way out of his way to fix that mistake and heegyeom isn't an idiot.
Both are traumatized by a lot of things - that's why it's a psychological bl.
I think the prostitute thing is now a term between them that heegyeom uses fyi guilt trip jaehan since he had already shown him how much he regretted saying that in the impulse of the moment...the leasf he can do to extract "revenge" is by taunting him. Like jaehan said if he really wanted to take revenge on him, ruining the movie now that he has such a huge investment in it, would be perfect. But heegeyon wouldn't do it, not just because of the movie, but because he probably wants to start over with jaehan properly now.

idk its just the way the author presented him as like randomly his angelic smile idk like i just dont know what hes thinking thats why im suspicious especically after jaehan broke his heart so much im worried that he might play with his emotions a bit on purpose to hurt him
its hard to find someone who would forgive a person randomly after everything hes done

But that would be something that is characteristic to jaehan...not exactly angelic but he's done his fair share of mistakes as well. Not like jaehan, but be it the prostitute calling, or planting drugs, or not doing anything to save his film (though it was already pretty ruined)
He did cause him to overdose and had non-consensual sex (under ecstasy or whatever) and the prostitute thing is just a thing between them that he used to guilt trip him...
If he wants to ruin him, like jaehan said, he could ruin his movie since jaehan will suffer a major loss.
But heegyeom isn't like that, and 6 months have already passed, and in the flashback he didn't seem angry, but regretful after seeing jaehan's face after they broke up.
I don't think he's gonna take "revenge" - like what could he even do? They've already broken up and been separate for 6 months, and he's been trying to talk to him, and in the raws he's kissing him a lot, like very cutely so I'm probably right.
It'd be very out of character for him to become an asshole now out of the blue. I think he loves filming and really appreciates jaehan trying to make up for his mistakes in the past...and also, and only he knew how upset heegyeom was when the movie was changed, so jaehan doing this is enough to move his heart.

Your initial comment was not a single sentence, so I responded to the parts that in my view were inaccurate. They were both under the influence of drugs, I'm not gonna say that what he did was right and it was obviously rape, but you can't expect him to have the situational awareness of a sober person. Jeahan was fully aware of what he was doing, everything he did was with intent to hurt Heegyeom because...he was horny? The plot for the drug possession was planned before the rape and he was planning on ruining the movie before he learned about it too. Also Heegyeom apologized and thought he deserved everything that happened with the charges for what happened between them. Jaehan has not said sorry once. He paid for the movie HE RUINED and he paid VOLUNTARILY he is not owed anything, is that really "everything in his power" to make it right, because that's still a sad excuse of an apology. Every time he does something shitty he just tries to throw money at it to make it feel better. The fact it's a dark drama doesn't mean I'll dismiss their actions. And since I thought it was implied but evidently it wasn't, this is my way of saying that he should suffer more consequences for his actions, and I'm not talking about the self inflicted ones I'm talking about consequences in his relationship with Heegyeom.

Um, why are you speaking like its upto you to decide whether you'll dismiss their actions or not.... it's the authors decision to write.
What you want, and how heegyeom is written, clearly don't match.
Not you excusing him for rape just because you want to prove jaehan is irredeemable...what? That's the least he could do? He's doing it voluntarily, hell yes he is. He isn't asking for second chances, he just wants to fix what he can, after he realized seeing heegyeom in pain is more painful for him. He's not exactly mentally stable since a very young age, so he took a long time to get to his senses...
I'm not sure why you're saying his suffering is self-inflicted....he does have chronic insomnia and it's the reason he used alcohol, drugs, sex to fall asleep but he still couldn't so I think he's already suffering enough.
It's not your place to decide how much jaehan needs to suffer before heegyeom can "forgive" him...he came around pretty fast on the prostitute thing, and about him being married....the way his character is written so far is that he is definitely upset by how jaehan is, but he likes him anyway. Before he even knew the truth -he realized how impulsive he is, but when he apologizes, he is really sincere about it, and when he doesn't, he doesn't. When they broke up, he didn't defend himself even though he wanted to.
In any case, in the new few chapters heegyeom is all over jaehan and being sappy...so prepare your tissues.

Dude you really don't want talk about suiting a narrative hahahaha you're downplaying rape just to make jaehan seem like the worst person ever. Disregarding his entire arc, just to fuel your own presumptions about heegyeom. He's not as flawed as jaehan, but he's not exactly an angel. And he knows what kind of person jaehan is...and he's had time to cool down and he's ready to start over since he can see how much jaehan is trying to change...also he's the one who initated the sex after their reunion, both times. Even though jaehan was the one who was dying to be with him. I can't see how you don't see how mutual their feelings have been, twisted completely, but that's what character development is for...disregarding it all to suit your hateful narrative is ridiculous lol.

Oh wow you just went from "Not you excusing him for rape just because you want to prove jaehan is irredeemable" to "you're downplaying rape just to make jaehan seem like the worst person ever" real quick for someone who says it suits my narrative. And I quote "He's not as flawed as jaehan, but he's not exactly an angel" first of all I never claimed he was an angel, but that's a great strawman you've built there. My point was exactly that Jaehan is worse as a person which you seem to agree, and thus leads to the point that Heegyeom still has the ethical high ground. The point about the rape was not me downplaying it, it was me highliting how being conscious of one's actions and how those affect others shows where our morality lies when we go through with them. Jaehan has not repented properly his change just started when he was in the car and started feeling bad about his relationship to another person and not about how that situation affected him. Self inflicted in my previous comment referred to him spiraling after his connection to Heegyeom was cut off. That lol at the end was very fitting because the mental gymnastics you had to do to reach your conclusions about what I do and don't mean are truly laughable.

"being conscious of one's actions and how those affect others shows where our morality lies " - and this applies to jaehan as well. He knew what he was doing, but he did those things anyway. He's trying to turn it around since he finally faced his feelings for what they are - with his mental state and what he's been through all his life, the absolute shit of a life he's been leading -
The amount of empathy you have for heegyeom, if you used even a bit of sympathy for jaehan, it wouldn't be so ignorant on your part to be so biased against him.
He didn't start spiraling after he broke up with heegyeom, but he's been spiraling since his parents died. He got a momentary relief when they were together, but he was back into the hell he was in before he met heegyeom.
"Jaehan has not repented properly"- What would you have him do? Try to kill himself over it? l.mao he has been in utter hell away from heegyeom to give him space, and after returning is doing everything he can to make his life better by dealing with every problem from people making his life harder, and also not trying to re-ebted his life, and like I said, he isn't the one who was trying to have sex with him. He's quietly doing his own mending. Heegyeom is the one who went for him (and in the next chapters will go for him quite a lot)
Anyway, get your tissues ready because heegyeom is going to forgive him in the next 2 chapters. so cry to your heart's content then.

First of all trauma is not an excuse for abhorrent behaviour. It might be an explanation for it but not an excuse. My comment about how our actions impact others was mainly aimed at Jaehan already. He was doing self loathing, he only started self reflection in the car, so yes I think he should spend a little more time thinking about how his actions affected others the same way that he thought how the situation affected him. Also, kill himself? That's the first thing you can think of? There was this intricate process, it was called "apologizing and recognizing what you did wrong" they talked about it....in kindergarten, truly complex stuff, where you had to say "I'm sorry for pulling your hair". It got even more complicated in elementary school where we had to recognize how our actions impacted others by saying "I'm sorry for pulling your hair, that must have hurt" it was really fascinating, if you ever have time I highly recommend looking into the topic. Funny thing is, Jaehan has shown clear understanding of the concept when he decided that Heegyeom was not worth his apology. He had multiple opportunities to say it and yet he didn't, because his pride would be hurt. If they end up together next 2 episodes they'll both be pathetic, but especially Heegyeom for being so easily manipulated...again.

Hahaha I can't get over the censored chapters...they're not even trying to be accurate now.
It's so bad that I'm laughing hahahahahahahaha what the fuck hahahaahahahahahaha I wonder if Tan-nim knew how her work is being made a parody by the translator at Lezhin..............wow, I kinda feel sick because this manhwa is just world class and is made such a joke due to the bad translations.
"Dont get your panties in a bunch" haahahahah eunsung never said that, and would never say that! Hahahaha I can't...who the hell is translating this shit at lezhin seriously. Totally ruined it so thoroughly. Just a heads up- their conversations are NOT like this at all in the original manhwa..they sound like frat boys here hahahahaha so damn cringy!
I wish the mature versions do some kind of justice to the original work....this censored versions are just plain ridiculous and highly inaccurate.

Yes please take it with a grain of salt...I hope the mature version is closer to the original but it's still not doing a good job I'm afraid...but I guess this is the best lezhin will do. It's really a damn shame. In the original language, this manhwa is just fucking amazing~ even Google translate will be better than these translations hahaha

hmmmm...I think they're recycling the censored version for the uncensored chapters..
it's kinda hmmm.
1. Soohyun doesn't call eunsung's friend "a dumbass" but rather 문외한, which means an outsider/3rd party, like he said in the last chapter "an idiot who has no idea what the situation really is..." (as in what happened between them at the hotel, and the deal he made with eunsung last time they met) - i.e. he said because a third party (his friend) was involved now or would interfere (?), he wouldn't keep the deal on anymore.
2. Eunsung doesn't say "I'm not exactly hankering to do it with you again. I didn't imagine you'd barge in like this" but instead says "I know I said that, but I don't have intention of doing it with you again so soon. I didn't know/think you were the promiscuous~ type." (Which is said in a teasing tone ofc, since soohyun's "first time" was the time at the hotel when they had sex earlier (eunsung is his first for all the things - first love, first kiss (which soohyun did in this chapter), and first time having sex) - (author has confirmed soohyun was a virgin, and has lower sexual desire than people his age so he isn't keen on having sex before - obviously that changed when he met eunsung again, who is the only person who manages to stir him up (since high school)) - (eunsung has done it a few times before, but he didn't sleep around. Soohyun thinks munseop had his way with eunsung at first (and was his first time) and is pissed - and that's why he violated him as well, since he learnt sex from that maniac. Eunsung doesn't deny it then, but apologizes for ruining his first time, which pisses off soohyun even more, because it implied he was hurt emotionally by that, which he didn't want to admit)
3. To which soohyun replies, "Whose fault do you think this whole situation is? When I think about that time, I start boiling with such rage that I can't even fall asleep. To relieve my built up rage, I need to do with you whatver I want at least once. I need to repay it, twice as hard. Shall we start with the first hit (lit. Translation) /first repayment?" (As in first of the two times he's going to defile him to repay him)
4.He says while holding his face, "It will be worth seeing such a handsome face (lit. A perfect face with no flaws) be covered in tears."
5.And when eunsung challenges him to start taking his revenge with a smirk like he knew he couldn't do it, soohyun doesn't say "Don't underestimate me." Before kissing him, But rather "He's looking down on me."
Which kinda is more consistent with how soohyun perceives himself in eunsung's eyes, that he's always so above him, that he's always looking down on him.
6. When soohyun asks him why he was kissing the other dude back them if they weren't lovers, eunsung actually holds his face and says, "By that logic, I kissed you too, and after having sex, is there something between us now? He kissed me first on his own (that dude from then) Are you jealous? It's kind of cute/ You're kind of acting cute/ you look a little adorable." (*cute squeal* eunsung-ah, my sunshine~ my vitamin~ )
I was kinda looking forward to the mature translations but they really gonna do this again huh...oh well. If they were gonna recycle the same shit, they shouldn't make people pay for it twice.

Thanks for the clarifications! If you don't mind, it would be nice if you were to comment on next chapters as well :)
I was thinking this was supposed to be a constant mind fight among the characters, something witty, you know? But it doesn't appear to be, and having bad translations plus two different versions, didn't help the English release...

It is like that...the manhwa is very witty. And the mind games are not just between the main leads by other side characters as well...soohyun is pulling all kinds of strings to get eunsung out of this situation soon so he can be in his complete control (I.e. be with him forever lol) and eunsung first thought it could be just a mutual benefit deal, but now his motivations have vastly changed - but I won't spoil it since I was reprimanded by people here before when I tried to explain some things :((
Nevertheless it IS what you thought it would, but the translations are really REALLY bad. They just keep getting worse and worse. :(((
I'll gladly correct some important dialogues. I really love this story and characters so much so I'm very sad that English readers can't enjoy this to its best potential :(((

I had no idea people could bash someone for simply trying to be informative and help us get a better reading experience! Sorry you went through that. And I feel like specially for psychological mangas dialogue is SO important, it changes EVERYTHING. Sad to know the story isn’t been shown to full potential for English readers. Idk why the censorship either, I wonder if there’s a substantial public that chooses to read the “all ages” version (because I really feel like most would prefer to get the full ver. Specially on a story where sex plays such a big role ).

Yeah I read those comments too, that's why I ask you there with the right dialogues. I mean I really got curious as to how the real dialogues went and I'm glad I found this one.
So sorry that you have to go through that just because others won't understand how important good translation is in regards to the story.

spoil me too ^^
i also want to know. i like both main characters chemistry in the raw. sadly i can't read korean. and i also feel there something wrong with the translation as the their conversation sound pretty cold and very business like. it feel weird seeing eunsung so clingy to sohyun in the raw seeing how assholes he sound here.

Yes, the dialogues are actually the main reason why this manhwa is so popular. Their voices and personalities are very unique and likeable....soohyun and the sunbae are the one who curse the most, which is an important trait of their personality..
Yeah even if they censored the smut parts, they shouldn't have messes with the translation. The important parts of the story are not just in the sex bits (those are the moments when eunsung and soohyun actually find out some things about the other - like their real selves) though sex is used as a transaction of information on paper haha. Except for in season two where it becomes as something they initate because they wanted to (?) Soohyun has said a couple of times he doesn't like having sex (which the author confirmed that his sexual desire isn't high, except for when he's with eunsung ofc- but that's because he likes seeing his expressions twist and change when they have sex - soohyun doesn't like his "unbotehred and lifeless" face. He gets turned on when eunsung's face shows helpless/vulnerable or frustrated expressions)
They really messed up first by making it into all ages and even after that, the translations are very poorly done. :((( they're not even trying.

NOOOOOOOO, EUNSUNG IS NOT AN ASSHOLE! NOT BY A LONG SHOT! This is why I'm so sad about these translations!! ┗( T﹏T )┛
They're right, eunsung is very gentle and flirty when talking to soohyun - he's like a cat, he teases soohyun a lot, and also stands up to him when soohyun is going on a mad tangent like putting himself in danger recklessly, but he never raises his voice, even when he's mad at him. Even the way they text each other is very different- soohyun tells him "I need to write an article. Come out." And when it's eunsung asking him he says it like, "Should we have a meeting today?// Do you want to meet today?"
Eunsung is the cutest most soft and adorable character ever....
He's so soft for soohyun, I can't tell you...
This makes me so sad!! ┗( T﹏T )┛

Their conversations are about business but they're not like this at all...they sound very American and not really accurately as well..
Eun-soo relationship isn't cold - though soohyun does put up a lot of barriers but in season two, we are seeing his emotional outbursts when he got jealous and almost shouted to eunsung "you are my..." hahaha
Eunsung is not an asshole!!! These translations are very very bad and inaccurate. He's very gentle and polite and caring and flirty with soohyun.... because it pissed him off at first but now he does it very naturally since he's become really fond of him. The change in his tone started after he reveals he knows who soohyun is and afterwards starts calling him "soohyun-ah" which is a very endearing way to call someone close to you. Soohyun got upset at first at him for calling him like that, but now he's used to it I guess hahaha eunsung is VERY VERY cute. The official translations would never make this change in their tone,if only this was translated by a fan, they'd surely add the soohyun-ah part, and add a note. Since it's important to how close their relationship becomes.

I ask you here or do I give you my hotmail?
And they are questions above all, because I only read the bad translation, I made a small personal translation of chapter 26 and 27 before it came out, then I realized that it was wrongly translated when at first it didn´t mention that Soohyun came when Eunsung said his name, and when he was so embarrassed that his face was covered, Eunsung told him that if he felt shy he could turn around so that his face wouldn´t be seen; and then there are the raws, there I have many questions since I don´t understand Korean, and my personal translations are from using google translator.
If I had to ask a question from the raws (What interests me the most), would Eunsung have an interest or crush on Soohyun in the past?
And now that they have started interacting and collaborating in the present, is he interested in maintaining or advancing his current relationship with Soohyun, and protecting him from the rapist teacher and probably Soohyun himself?
It makes me laugh that Eunsung is jealous of the reporter when his biggest rival is probably himself, I mean the idealized version that Soohyun sees, that version that is superior and looks at everyone with contempt and doesn´t care Soohyun at all (Although Soohyun is starting to know the real Eunsung, but I think it will be difficult for him to break that ideal that he has).
And a question about the past that I have is: Why did Eunsung rape Soohyun in the beginning?
From the things that I have learned, Eunsung hates the rapist teacher with all his soul, and he isn´t in favor of his immoral behavior, not to say that watching the flashbacks, Eunsung isn´t a sexual predator, he was someone normal in terms of morality ( At least my opinion, I can be wrong).
So I didn't understand why he did that to Soohyun, was it because he thought Soohyun was on the rapist teacher's side, or because of how Soohyun mentioned earlier that he unconsciously learned from the rapist teacher and how he had a past attraction with Soohyun plus he was pissed off at him , did that?
I ask because the impression I have of Eunsug isn´t that of someone physically forcing someone to get what he wants (Although I can be wrong), besides that apart from the first time, he hasn´t forced Soohyun again.
Personally, I don´t like rapes in BL, especially if they are poorly written psychologically (Like love=rape, or there are no emotional wounds or trauma on the victim, the rapist not redeems himself and still ends up with the victim, or mental and emotional intelligence of every character is low when it comes to dealing with these issues), but in this work I liked it because it is well written psychologically and there are reasons for everything, and sex isn´t for easy fanservice but as you said, the way for Soohyun and Eunsung on getting to know each other for real (When they made the deal, Eunsung became very nice to Soohyun in sex, focusing on pleasing him, I noticed that).
If it's too long, I don't mind you contacting me through my hotmail, I sent you my email in your mailbox.

wow. i also want to know about that. also i'm agree with you that eunsung biggest rival is probably the high school version of him. with sohyun personality i doubt advancing their relationship would be easy.
i retranslate the chapter you talking about, and just like you said the translation are totally off.by asking sohyun to turn around so he would not feel embrassed by seeing his face is totally give different meaning since the current translation give off the feeling that eunsung only care about his pleasure. retranslate though might not very accurate but it give totally different meaning better than official translation i suppose. and when their had sex in the car, eunsung had become more and more sweet toward sohyun. i also dont mind if you want to contacting me using email. it hard to find checkmate fandom. there might be korean one but since i cannot read korean it impossible(⌒▽⌒)

I'm sorry I didn't understand the first part of your question. Are you asking what happened in chapter 26 and 27? Or is there a particular scene you didn't understand?
I'll try to answer the questions you have:
"would Eunsung have an interest or crush on Soohyun in the past?" - from the info we have currently is all implied - eunsung remembering soohyun wore glasses, when he tells his friend that he doesn't like reunions because he doesn't recognize any of those "bastards" faces, or remember anyone from school - but he remembered not only how soohyun looked like, but also mentions to his friend that "soohyun hasn't changed - he's still how he was in high school, just in a grown up suit (lit. Translation: whether he wears a high school uniform or a suit, there's no difference." (He says this affectionately btw - and to quote him "soohyun is hard to figure out (complex), and a sensitive guy." ) so the theory in the fandoms he really did pay attention to him, when soohyun wasn't looking at him. Soohyun thinks their relationship was the kind where if eunsung didn't look at him, their eyes would never meet (I.e. he was in a position of power due to his popularity) but he obviously noticed him a lot many times hehehehe.
2."in the present, is he interested in maintaining or advancing his current relationship with Soohyun, and protecting him from the rapist teacher and probably Soohyun himself?" - eunsung has said recently that "He needs to rebuild their relationship from the basic foundations to go anywhere in the future." He isn't satisfied with their current business-like relationship. The theory in the fandom is that soohyun and eunsung are fearing completely different things rn - soohyun thinks the faster he solves this munseop situation, he can start having complete control of eunsung like he wants - he hates any influence on eunsung's life that isn't his - but he's also afraid if he's not useful to eunsung then he'll find someone and replace him (he's also pissed at himself for getting used to eunsung's presence in his life as someone who he takes for granted for always following him) - however eunsung is getting anxious about once the munseop situation, their relationship would end for good. Since the deal in the beginning chapters for this munseop situation. That's why he's trying to shake soohyun up by breaking down his walls he's become SOOOO docile ahahaha he's super worried for him, but he knows how prideful soohyun is and how upset he got when he tried to protect him earlier, so he says "Ok if you want do it, I get it. You must know what you're doing, so I trust you. But please be careful/take care of yourself, and don't keep me in the dark about the risks you're taking." ;_;

3. "It makes me laugh that Eunsung is jealous of the reporter when his biggest rival is probably himself" you're so very very right. Excellent observation, friend. You're right about that. I think he's just insecure because he thinks soohyun really hates him for being who he is (despite his efforts to show him that they're similar) - eunsung actually does realize that he's kinda fighting a losing battle against his own perception. In the chapter 29 they butchered here, he does hold his face and say, "What kind of standards/critreas are you using to say who is what kind of person? How the hell are you looking at me, Soohyun-ah?"
This is where he realizes the chasm between them that soohyun sees....he is very upset afterwards where he realizes no matter what he says, soohyun will always misinterpret it into eunsung looking down at him." Hahaha he says I'll have to read more books to know the right words that soohyun doesn't misunderstand in the future."
4. "Why did Eunsung rape Soohyun in the beginning?" - the author hasn't addressed it because we haven't gotten that many eunsung's flashbacks or monologues. So I can only tell you my own theory: I think eunsung did have past affection for him, but I think he did that - which was so uncharacteristic of him - because he TRULY did not want soohyun to be involved in this munseop mess. He tried putting him down and sending him away but he followed him to the hotel persistently, and also remember that eunsung's friend saw soohyun's face and the fact that he's a reporter meeting soohyun in a hotel room - he did that kind of thing, thinking soohyun would truly hate him to the point of revulsion, but he instead showed up at his door the next day lol. He did try to send him away even after that but soohyun came to his house and he was in a truly helpless place and soohyun came to rescue just in time - in more than way to help with munseop situation.
I hope the author shows us a flashback of eunsung's thoughts when he saw soohyun after so many years, when he was doing to him, and after he walked out of the hotel room his expression.

"Eunsug isn´t that of someone physically forcing someone to get what he wants (Although I can be wrong), besides that apart from the first time, he hasn´t forced Soohyun again." - you're right. He isn't. That's why soohyun couldn't himself understand why he did that to him. He even asks that to eunsung in the car after their deal is made in the earlier chapters, he rationalized that because he thought he learned sex from munseop (since he's just assuming munseop had sex with eunsung - he was his first time hahaha - and so he did the same to him) eunsung doesn't defend his actions or clarify anything back then, but only apologizes to him for ruining his first time haha.
Sex between them has been transactional of information and favour, but this changes through the story - from non-consensual, to eunsung stops when soohyun tells him to (when they make a deal in his room), to sex in the hotel (which soohyun initiates btw) and eunsung doesn't have sex when soohyun falls asleep, and instead cleans him up and put him to bed, to the next time in the car which is also initiated by soohyun. Their reasons differed so much over time...each time they did it, their feelings were changing so rapidly. Especially eunsung. Soohyun can't see the changes completely but he is noticing~

The chapters 26 and 27 were examples of my ability as a translator, which is not very good but even I could see that it is being poorly translated.
And I'm glad I'm not the only one with these theories.
And it frustrates me a lot, but a MUCH that they are doing a bad translation in probably one of the best psychological bl manwha that I have been lucky enough to be born in the same century as the author.
I wish there was a discord to talk about these things or compare translations between fans or something.

Hello, Ann. You said "and when their had sex in the car, eunsung had become more and more sweet toward sohyun." - it's true, but it's because of what happened earlier during the exhibition - soohyun saving him from the reporters, him being there when he was standing up to munseop, when he stopped him from getting attacked more/ punched more - despite threatening to punch his face only earlier hahaha - he really gave in and admitted his feelings completely back then. There is this scene when he's kissing soohyun's palm so affectionately and then soohyun pulls it back and turns to leave him, leaving him with his hand paused in the air and turning his back on him, but eunsung grabs him and pulls him back to him like he couldn't bear to see him turn his back on him... it's my most favourite scene in the whole manhwa. Even more than the car scenes hahaha the conversations they had in the bathroom were the best~~•

Basically, we still lack information and can only theorize while we wait for the next chapter.
And I agree with your theory that Eunsung did it to push Soohyun away, but one thing I love about Soohyun is that he is unpredictable and he won't stop until he gets what he wants.
Honestly, this is my theory, but it gives me the impression that currently Eunsung has a positive opinion (or romantic ; ) ) and respects Soohyun a lot (or at least doesn´t underestimate him), another thing is that Soohyun allows himself to accept it ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍.

This is one of the reasons why I love this masterpiece.
Sex here isn´t fanservice but communication (Hot communication ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ ), and also a clue of their current state in their relationship and how it is evolving (And sweetening<3<3<3<3).
I have already mentioned it before that normally I don´t like a rape in BL because they oversimplify it to love=rape, and there is no mental damage or consequences neither in the victim or rapist, but here it is different, there is a reason and consequences for everything, and accusing the work of "love=rape" mean that you don´t understand the author's message at all (In my opinion).
I really love how each sexual scene is giving us a message of the evolution of their relationship, or rather they are more honest with their body than with their words(▰˘◡˘▰).

I am very envious of you! ┗( T﹏T )┛
I don't understand Korea, so I could only depend on my google translator (As always).
And even with bad translations covering up its full potential, you can still see that it is a masterpiece, in my opinionヾ(☆▽☆).
The only ones who suffer are the fans, I wonder if Lehzim hates English fans XD.

"Eunsung has a positive opinion (or romantic ; ) ) and respects Soohyun a lot (or at least doesn´t underestimate him)" - positive, yes. He put in a word of trust to shinhae to trust soohyun and work with him without telling soohyun. He was worried he'd get mad at him again for interfering lol.
In the Korean fandom, we actually talked about this: soohyun at the start said how he knew exactly who eunsung is (always misinterpreting his words of worry as him looking down on him) but in the recent chapter he said that eunsung is like a problem book that he can't seem to get even one answer right - and he can't do it on his own. He can't understand him at all, and realizes that only eunsung himself can tell him about who he is - and he's someone who is very patient teacher and will tell him who he is step by step.
Eunsung on the other hand though he knows who soohyun is, but he knows him only surface-level deep, and wishes to know him from the ground-up, like to his core or something. Soohyun surprises eunsung a lot, like he ALWAYS surpasses his expectations, and also he is pleasantly surprised to find how perfectly soohyun fits into his life - kind of. But the parts of him that intrigued him before, which he found fun before, now make him worry, since his feelings have deepened considerably.
Hopefully they'll communicate in the future chapters....eunsung-ah, keep fighting! The road is long, but soohyun will realize soon hopefully. Eunsung just needs to be really straightforward (which has started being already)

Yes, soohyun isn't actually very full of sexual desires (?) Like he doesn't have a high sex drive, so for him, it's not about anything but using it as a tool to defile eunsung (that's what he says but you know...)
Also one more thing, I saw people complaining that soohyun hasn't topped eunsung despite threatening him all the time,
Actually he doesn't have an intention of doing eunsung, but rather having sex is so disgusting to him, but he enjoys seeing the desperate and vulnerable look on eunsung's face, and also to him, it is another way of controlling eunsung by having munseop's dirty memories of filthy sex be overridden (?) By the times they had sex together.
To him, just the act of having sex is disgusting, but with eunsung is different. The car scene was definitely where his whole perception changed, since he was enjoying it more when he was looking down at eunsung and also he rode him on his own haha.
Moreover, in the bathroom stall, is where he didn't push eunsung away but instead let him do what he did. And took him to the car afterwards to have sex even though eunsung was kinda surprised hahaha

I'm glad to know that your relationship is continually evolving<3<3<3<3.
I wonder how many seasons this manwa will have, and I hope it doesn't end when the rapist professor is defeated, as they will have to adapt their relationship without an excuse.
It makes me laugh that the rapist professor is being used as an excuse for these two to get to know each other better XD (But considering that there are people suffering at his hand, I really hope they can stop him and save the others).

I also read that tweet from Tan that explained that Soohyun doesn't have a lot of sexual desires but he really does have a weakness for "marking or controlling" Eunsung.
I personally like reverse couples, but I am also not against a character liking a specific sexual position, and continuing to use it every time they have sex (Rather, it should be considered a stereotype and sexism, that because one likes to be bottom, to think that he is being inferior or the substitute for a "woman"), if Soohyun decided to top Eunsung, it gives me the feeling that Eunsung wouldn´t object since he loves to see Soohyun wanting him physically (And to be Top , that's a must XD), and what Soohyun wants from Eunsung is his vulnerability, to make him lose control, and control him, and that he achieves more by being the bottom, so I don´t see a problem with their sexual positions (If the author specified that Eunsung is Top for being taller and more masculine (I honestly think that Eunsung is the most beautiful and elegant of the two XD), and Soohyun bottom for being shorter and feminine (I see him more handsome than cute but his attractiveness is in his personality and determination to "win" XDXD), then my opinion would change for the worse, but I really highly doubt that Tan will do that ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭).
And I love that Soohyun is enjoying sex with Eunsung in the future, I hope that helps them to be more honest with each other ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ .

great insight. i also think that top or bottom does not even matter in their relationship. what do think about chapter 52. when eunsung meet that senior reporter there are part when sohyun visualize the high school version of eunsung and they talk bout sohyun way of solving the problems?. not sure about that, even when im using the translator i can't really get what they talk about. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I also hope that this manhwa has at least 3 reasons but I don't want the story to drag out as well....
Yes you're right. Eunsung's attitude is shifting from the munseop situation to his relationship with soohyun.. now the munseop situation to him isn't about his own career or his own problem with the old man, but rather to get all the other students and his friend shinhae out of there and get him exposed.
Which is a dynamic shift from how he was before he met soohyun again (he used to tell them that if they wanted to stop munseop from exploiting them, they should leave like he did) but maybe being with soohyun, he's become more sympathetic as well. And he truly wishes to solve this without anyone coming to any harm (especially soohyun, and of course shinhae)
I would simply love to see their story after this munseop situation but if the author will follow stalker games story development, it would end once they got in a relationship for real. I think tan-nim likes to leave it upto readers' imaginations ughhhh but I wanna see them for a long time. Checkmate is one my favourite BLs to have even been written~
I hope we get a whole season or maybe a new enemy after they get in a relationship hehehehe I want them working together on something that doesn't effect them somehow....which will be super interesting. Putting their genius heads together~••

Eunsung's face has been described by soohyun as "반반하니" which roughly means such a handsome perfect face that has no flaws. So yes he is SOOOOOOO beautiful~~ eunsung is an angel. He looks good in everything~
Soohyun has a darker beauty to him - I love glasses on characters hehe - and his loathing and scornful expressions are what eunsung finds adorable as well.
Soohyun always thinks it's disgusting (when eunsung penetrates him) but that's because he's sooooo embarrassed ahaha. In the car scene, he wanted eunsung to skip the part where he prepares him because he didn't like being so vulnerable and "shameful" in front of eunsung lol. His thorny beauty is even more pretty with every chapter~
The next time they have sex, his feelings are going to change again. Since the last time he's been hurt by eunsung by accident. He probably won't agree to have sex or it will be the opposite and he'll pounce on him like a lion lol.

Shizu-chan explained it, and I didn't understand it until she translated it for me.

Love it!
I love how their relationship evolves, and despite all the psychological twist, they also have sweet moments.ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Something we all love about Soohyun is that he is really unpredictable(≧∀≦).
I love all about this manhwa but what I love the most is that it starts with the impression of Soohyun chasing Eunsung but as it progresses, we realize that Eunsung is also chasing Soohun(▰˘◡˘▰).
The only thing that stands between them is Soohyun's mental problems, and whether Eunsung will be able to communicate properly with him (We have already specified that the rapist teacher is rather the current excuse to keep getting to know each other).
And this theorizing, I can be wrong or Tan will surprise us again.
(●'◡'●)ノ

Hehehe it's a game of cat and mouse...
But I like this story because it's kind of relatable, like when people were kids in school, it was so easy to always idolize or admire the popular kids - like they're so perfect. (Everyone has moments where they envy someone who is virtually perfect and flawless)
But just because someone's life looks perfect from the outside - it doesn't mean it is.
That's something soohyun is starting to realize about eunsung - with the munseop situation ofc. He started off being really happy eunsung's life was going through terrible times - but he became really pissed off after he saw that eunsung had kind of given up trying to be perfect and didn't mind that his image was being tarnished (remember soohyun hated him because of the perfect image eunsung had that was in contrast to his own)
He detested eunsung being not himself - the perfect version in his eyes. He remarks many times that eunsung isn't acting dignified (when he sees how "perverted" he's become (hehehe soohyun, he's like that because you're his type) and how he isn't like how he pictured him back in school (and he hates it because now eunsung is a mystery - he calls him "indescribable")
An interesting development which has taken place is that when soohyun comes to eunsung's house (on the day of the deal when he got his fingers crushed) they didn't translate it accurately but soohyun tells eunsung "Don't try to teach me. I have no intentions of learning even how to breathe from you." When eunsung teases him that he'd teach him how to get used to having sex (with a man) (?) Hahaha but now in the latest chapters, he admits that he can't understand eunsung at all, and eunsung himself can only tell him/teach him who he really is and what goes on in his mind...(also fun fact: tan-nim said that soohyun's type is someone who is knowledgable and is good at communicating/teaching hehehehhee)
Even though soohyun is a bit extreme, but I really like him. Eunsung is right when he calls him honest and sensitive (though probably only eunsung can see that side to him while to others he seems like a crazy obsessive bastard)

I would also like Eunsung to empathize with Soohyung's condition, although it is more difficult to do so considering that of the two Soohyun is the mysterious one (We already have Eunsung's flashbacks, and reasons that have led him to the present, but the only thing that We have from Soohyung is the flashback of her high school days and his graduation) not to mention Soohyun's pride.
Although Soohyun has his perspective clouded with his inferiority complex, low self-esteem, and his idealization of Eunsung, ironically compared to the other characters, Soohyung is the one who best knows and accepts Eunsung in question on a personal level (In my opinion), which is contradictory at the same time XD.
And I am glad that Soohung's opinion is changing, even if it takes time and effort to change an opinion, as long as he is not closed to new possibilities, this will help him in the future as a person and his relationship with Eunsung.

Yes, you're right. Actually in the hotel chapter, he says to eunsung "Everyone surrounding you knows about your story, don't they? Then, why should I be the one to remain deliberately ignorant/unaware of it? Right now, more than anyone else, I should be the knows who knows the most. Be sure to tell me every single detail, don't even dare to leave anything out, if you want my cooperation."
I think to soohyun, jung eunsung of the high school days meant everything to him. Even now he has told eunsung (in the car before they had sex) that he's not having sex with him to make him feel better or out of the goodness of his heart for pitying him after getting punched and the terrible encounter with munseop, but rather because the desperate expression and actions of eunsung in the bathroom is the reason. And his current self makes him sick/ he can't stand it (his nonchalant face) He tells eunsung exactly this "Bring back that bastard. It's because of him, not because of a bastard like you." (To have sex)
Eunsung probably hasn't ever seen soohyun as inferior to him (he even tells off his "friends" who made fun of soohyun for getting second place in school (when he tore off sheets) saying how eunsung should let soohyun be first just once, don't you feel pity for him?" Eunsung told that guy: "Shut your mouth. Don't say things like that." But soohyun was sooooo angry that he didn't even hear it.
And also when soohyun saw him smiling and got mad that he was making fun of him on his own, and roughly bumped into his shoulder - his friends tried to aggravate the situation by calling him crazy and scary, and asked him to get back at him, but he just brushed it off as nothing. Soohyun didn't notice that either.
So he does understand him, but it was only in chapter 37 in the cafe he realizes that soohyun's complex has only gotten worse and he calls him out on it "What is a person like you and a person like me? What criteria are you using to set those standards? How the hell are you looking at me, Soohyun-ah?" This is when he actually realized the problem. But until then, he never thought there was any inferiority involved. He just thought he hated him because he was ridiculed in school because of him a lot.

I agree with you 100%, although I think there was another reason too many, a quite simple one, and that is that when someone is popular they get used to people going to talk to them and want things from them (Social things) but when It's the other way around, they don't know how to start a friendship with someone who clearly seems not to be interested in them or hates them (I have a friend who was popular at school but then she moved to another country and she wasn't popular there, she didn't know how make friends because she didn't know how to approach people on her own).
And thank you very much for the translation and information of the car scene<3.

The way chansol and starr give me the creeps...........idk what it is, but I'm so annoyed by this whole development.
Chansol is literally nice and thoughtful to everyone but hanhoo like he's some headache that he can't cure or something.
Personally I really hate hanhoo being the one who is desperately clinging...well, not even that, i WISH THE AUTHOR WROTE CHANSOL'S FEELINGS TOWARDS HANHOO EVEN A BIT.
The fact that he sees him only as a friend....is making my teeth grind whenever hanhoo is getting hurt over all this shit, on his own, and watching starr get admired and worried for after what's he's done to chansol.
I just fucking hate the direction this manhwa has taken ┗( T﹏T )┛ it used to be the only thing I looked forward to and now it's soooo cringy I can't.
Hanhoo I'll love you,so don't be like this ;_; he really confessed way too soon!!!! There was no need to tell him all that! Just the reveal that he was his friend before should've been sufficient and the confession should have come after chansol developed some feelings for him after he found out he was the one he was looking for all along....and his feelings would have been a result of hanhoo being so supportive and protective of him while chasing August....I fucking hate thisssssss

Bro what? Chansol is kind and caring person so it would make sense for him to be nice to everyone, even Starr. Chansol never saw Hanhoo as anything more than as a friend, so why should he suddenly develop feelings for him just because Hanhoo confessed that he likes him? Him and Hanhoo have been friends for a long time now so of course he’s going to treat him differently than compared to others in some aspects. Honestly, he doesn't even treat him that different from the other characters in the story. Even if he did treat him as a headache, it would make sense since Hanhoo is selfish and is always causing trouble. Love takes time and there’ll are a lot of other aspects to the story that needs attention over they’re relationship so we won't be seeing date or fall in love in such a short time. The author can't write Chansols feelings towards Hanhoo (at least romantically) since he doesn't have any as of yet.

^^ exactly! oh how i wish i could give a like to your reply! it would make no sense for chansol to immediately feel the same way after hanhoo confessed. chansol hasn’t fallen in love with anyone before like what makes you think he will suddenly fall in love with hanhoo? this kind of development takes time.

I know what you mean, but that's not what I said at all.
I personally don't like the development of the story and the way chansol's character is that forgiving to a point of being dumb, towards STARR of all people. He got him stabbed and hes worried about his safety, and wants to protect him from hanhoo like he's the one who had him stabbed to get back at someone else...gimme a break. You can make excuses but it was just plain ridiculous. Forgiving him was understandable but not this...definitely not this.
No, they weren't friends for a long time. They were friends a long time AGO. Hanhoo was the one who still remembered him, while he only had a vague idea of him.
I'm not against their relationship (I was actually looking forward to this the most) but I'm very dissatisfied by the timing of it, not the actual feelings.
Chansol clearly doesn't have even a tiny bit inclination towards hanhoo, which makes their interactions super awkward and tense for no reason. The timing was soooo poorly written...he shouldn't have confessed so early and under those circumstances. It's just so cringe now...with hanhoo being jealous and chansol being put in an awkward place where he doesn't know what he's doing wrong....fucking hell. You might like this development but I simply can't stand it. I really liked chansol a lot before, now the story's atmosphere is really weird lol.

Be quiet and read the comment I wrote properly. Not liking the development doesn't mean I hate the overall story. The confession was just too rushed and ill-timed. I didn't like it happened that way...he should have just told him he was his friend from before and confesses his love.. it was so awkward and I'll timed. Now the atmosphere between them is so cringy with chansol feeling awkward and hanhoo getting jealous and mad on his own for something chansol doesn't even understand. He shouldn't have confessed his love so early....it fucked up the story in my eyes.

The translations are kinda iffy...like "you are immaculate" um, what? That doesn't make sense in the context they were talking in at all. In the chinese raws, he says "You are really annoying, why would you ask something like that?"
I only saw the chinese raws yet, but in the next chapter, San is going to be throw a cute tantrum when Kang acts all proper and shows him respect and talks respectfully to him hahahaha he's like "STOP BEING WEIRD!!! STOP TALKING LIKE THAT!!! IT'S CREEPY!" Hahaha also he is going to be enamored with kang's official dress hahaha...there are going to be so many fluffy scenes in the upcoming chapters....moreover, the fact that san came over to him just because he thought Kang was feeling lonely or homesick from afar, ah fuck my feelings. I love him so much!
I hope they don't make this into a kdrama because they're add stupid romance in it for no reason other than "we have to get people interested" like...
Hopefully it gets drama but I don't think they will add up romance but looks like story is not famous enough to get k drama , but if it gets they will have to caste soo many good looking people ...
They will..they do. Always. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ hahaha good looking aren't scarce so they'll be fine, good actors on the other hand...
Then they just don't make k drama of it it's better of as manhwa ( ̄∇ ̄")
Exactly hahah
there's good amount of action Kdramas without romance. I'll rec you some if you want
Not really a fan of kdramas in general. The adaptations of manhwas are even more disappointing than usual bs in kdramas.
Agree .. I m also not fan of k drama .
