First of all I would prefer Haesoo with Taku since it looks less toxic. However, I have seen the argument that H is some victim being forced by Jowoon to do things and I don't think so. H even says himself that they started out experimenting as teens and now several years later they are still going at it. He is a very active participant in all this and sometimes I get the vibe like he strings along everyone. This might actually be the part of the story that is realistic since hooking up with people is not as clear cut as it is made out to be. On the other hand, I think J is honestly in love with him. He seems to be thoroughly invested while H is going with the flow (although he too seems to be heavily influenced by J). Taku will not only be a healthy break for their toxic relationship, but they can focus on treasuring each other as brothers.

I remember this being my first introduction to shonen ai. I also remember the excitement when they came to Kenya. As a Kenyan, I couldn't believe the manga I read could feature my country. However, i was quickly disappointed by the artist's depiction of my country. It had the same undertones that developed world media portray. "people are so poor so there are high levels of insecurity". Am not saying what they said is untrue, but its hard when all they can focus on is the negative without a feature on the positive side. All over the world, different countries have issues ranging from oppression of women to intolerance to LGBTQ+ people. So it kinda unfair that when it comes to Africa, most if not all the talk is negative unlike developed countries. My second issues was how she drew black people. Not very flattering as if the other races actually look like the drawing on comics. But this is not an issue with this mangaka alone, it's common. All in all, it is still a masterpiece story.
Why does this have the strong women tag? It does not seem as if the MC has any plans to redeem any other women apart from herself. It also is very disturbing that you can see growth in her family but she is faking her affection. The misogynistic society is a bit too much to stomach. Would have been made better with a revolutionary lead. But all she does is act cutesy and obsess over Jinsu. At this point, she won't be driving any change but only make the men around her like her.
Amen. I find the most disturbing thing is that they only treat others right to look good around the MC or for praise and not for an actual good cause. I don't believe that she would ever change anything in this world for the right reasons or way.
