It's really sublime. I love the way the story is being told via things that are not being said, through the information which is being withheld just out of our reach. The characters too are (for a much needed change of pace) mature adults who possess a charm and allure seldom seen in the BL genre. The silence is deafening, and spaces eerily empty. Yet this choice of panelling and clever use of subliminal space makes this work stand out brilliantly. Lovely, masterful storytelling. One that keeps you coming back for more. Being able to keep readers in the dark, as they teether on the edge of what lies ahead in the unknown plot is an ART. And this author is well-versed in it. I can't praise God's Peace enough.

Wow, some people really have a hard time with non -linear, cinematic/interjectory, flashback style storytelling, and it's a shame because this type of plot presentation is intriguing and enjoyable AF. It's a puzzle we have to piece together, and it's also symbolic in a way. Scenes speak for themselves, but also mean specific things when interjected in specific moments.
The art style really is a treat to the eyes, it reminds me of pop art, but it conveys intimacy and eroticism in a very straightforward, raw way *because* it's minimalist when it has to be, and it adds visual cues when they're only needed (the snow effect in the background is almost like an onomatopoeia in text - you can actually hear the scene, or the buzzing sound of the boxer dude as he's experiencing CTE symptoms). Each and every panel is done like the scene of a movie, the perspectives are also chef's kiss, and the artist clearly has an eye for composition, and how to manipulate it.
I think what's missing in a lot of visual storytelling about romance and sex is the true intimacy, and tension between the characters. Just because we have two glistening, fluid covered bodies that rub against one another, it doesn't mean it's sensual or erotic, so you're spot on - this manhwa gives you the feeling there's a bubble that's about to burst (which is pure eroticism), but it's also suffocating you with tension, hints, curiosity, and a sense of doom. In the best way possible.
Exactly, woven in is the right term, because it gives us an insight into boxer dude's (I'm so fucking bad with names) mind. How he's understimulated, how this draws a parallel to him letting himself get beaten during boxing matches, and how that might be a symptom of this chronic search for a stimulus, so much so that he's risking permanent brain damage just for the masochist tendencies he has. He craves violence, and sex has to have it, too. The more intriguing it is to understand why he's this way, and how political lap dog guy will react to this and transfer his own baggage into the relationship they're getting at
I'm sure it's partially kids, and partially straight up stupid adults. Dumb kids often just grown into dumb adults, so there's that. Some readers also just want to eat up the slop and not treat the genre as something compelling or challenging, it's just a goon type of past time. I mean, it's BL, it can be very porny, but plot makes the porny parts hit so much harder imo, and without the plot, it's so difficult to empathize with the characters and feel the scenes

It's okay, I have a habit like this too. like I remember both their names but I'm a name purist and choose not to use Boxer Boy's name just yet even while discussing the story cause it's more fun that way for me.
I'll use it when the mc (Incheol) calls boxer boy by his name, or boxer boy introduces himself in the story or commands Incheol "Say my name." , or Incheol changes the name in his contact from simply GYM to his name...or ANYTHING of that sort. It would add a touch of intimacy and become a kind of highlight in the story because God's Peace is not a sentimental story. At all. It is something way deeper and more profound. And I prefer to interpret it that way. Fleeting emotions would just look out of place and frankly boring ina story of this magnitude. I like the rawness in the dialogues, the absence of sugar-coating is refreshing and the world-building feels novel in a sense. I love it.
I really enjoyed this chapter way too much, especially because it's the first time we get to witness how Boxer boy is experiencing the world around him. The desolation in his very being, the way he's deprived of feeling anything at all. The apathy that has made him into an empty reckless individual uncaring for the fact that he's teetering on the verge of death what with his boxing induced CTE - just as long as he can somehow satisfy his sadomasochistic needs. He didn't ask for them, it's just how he's always been.
