i have simply been too seated all this time the theater employees have all but given up asking me to leave and through the grace of god my tenacity have been GREATLY rewarded... will continue to be seated until my ass leaves permanent cheek imprints onto the movie seats. also luca guadagnino eat your heart out this could be you making peak if you could just drop the white twink centered yaoi for a bit to make room for yuri

i've been scammed? i've been lied to by the good art and the wisps of a possibly good, or at the very least decent and FUN, story in the promo and initial chapter?
the writing is so dogwater. just disjointed and all over the place, with actual plot, character, and relationship development stuff being cut in half or just... completely relegated offscreen? the first sex scene being half-finished was already bad enough, but we don't even learn anything at ALL about how seven adjusted to becoming a nightfall agent in that 1 year flashback of felix apparently "training" him... outside of the many instances where seven is just. bad at his job and completely shit at doing agent duties. and don't even get me started on that weird, abrupt cut of seven moving in with felix... we didn't even get to see the moving process at ALL??? just jumpcuts to seven apparently already being a cozy freeloader at felix's place while he maids himself out to buy seven's favorite bread or whatever?
girl and don't even get me started on felix's lost potential. the initial chapter promised me a cunty, smart and calculating power bottom type that has his top on a leash but NONE of that shit was delivered. he is not a power bottom, he doesn't even have his top on a leash since seven just be doing whatever the fuck and is still bad at his job even after felix's 1 year of "training", and he's DEFINITELY. not calculating or smart AT ALL. him lacking all of this drops his cunty factor into the negative levels. he just ends up seeming like a typical bl slop "strict and uptight" bottom now. just a sad, sad, obvious case of an author trying to write a character more interesting and smarter than they are... and failing. MISERABLY.
finally the most egregious part of all is that the writing is CORNY. if it was gonna be dogwater writing, then i at least wanted it FUN and CAMPY, not CORNY. "the security system may be perfect, but your brain isn't." --> the fuck? don't fucking piss me off bro.
can't believe i got baited by slop masquerading as something more because of the good art and fun premise. sad.

YALL GOT ME..... yall got me..... idek if this is the first of the series or what cause i saw that i saw a lot of other uma musume titles on here and i know the franchise branches off into movies and anime as well saur #rip however just finished a run with oguri cap and got mt first ever a-rank with her so the cinderella gray manga (and possibly anime later on) it is first

This is a prequel. Here’s the watch order:
https://www.anime-planet.com/users/Nekus/lists/uma-musume-watch-order--guide-1306898

No problem! Ah okay, I just know that people have had trouble getting into the Uma Musume universe when starting with her story ‘cause it isn’t for new fans. The first season gives you a good introduction of the world and plot, and it’s also the weakest of the adaptations (so it’s best to watch it first, or else you might be disappointed. The anime has improved a lot since then)

why is it that korean bl authors are constantly crashing out and doing the most on twitter yall... continuously proving my point that it's better to save up to buy some actual well-written books and good mangas over webtoon slop LOL
anw my controversial take that is ultimately the most pointless opinion out there since i'm an "illegal reader", which incenses me to post this more cuz idgaf, is that flashlight does have the better art/hotter characters BUT shutline's substance trumps it by far. kyou really doesnt have anything to worry about and they're just digging themselves deeper and deeper into their own grave by doing all this bullshit cause their writing, especially when it comes to building up the chemistry between their two main characters, is still ahead of flashlight's author at this moment. flashlight got too much sex scenes going on taking up the time and space that should actually be used to flesh out the main characters' dynamics and chemistry building - some of the writing to their relationship outside their sexual dynamics comes across as rushed to me and i'm still not fully sold on the progression of their relationship. however, the reason they have the leg down compared to kyou may very well be because their story is newer and has less chapters out, and they may come to improve their writing the more the story goes on.
all in all, it's a lose-lose situation for me as a reader of both if either gets dropped. if shutline gets dropped, then we're gonna lose one of the very very very very few "classic" k-bl that is actually worth its salt, especially when it comes to the chemistry and sexual tension, and i'm gonna mourn missing the chance to see the conclusion of shin and jake's story and relationship. if flashlight gets dropped, then we're gonna be missing out on one of the very very very very few "new-gen" k-bl that actually has the foundations of becoming a "classic", and i'm gonna mourn this story missing out on the opportunity to be able to unfold to its fullest potential.
tl;dr kyou needs to shape up, stfu, and just get back in the studio (pick up the pen and continue to cook) cause i don't wanna lose either shutline or flashlight </3

ouahgghrhgagaihgahgahh..... uagrhdhhuggaga.... uuuurghhhhhh.... hold on shawty (zaijian countdown [2024] by amai moca) im tryna figure out how to spell georges.
like writhing aside, this piece of work is simply so beautiful. do not let it go understated just how much well illustrated backgrounds and settings contribute in shaping the atmospheric feel of a manga/manhwa/manhua. tingyu and akki cutting up the watermelon in akki's kitchen, and akki sitting down on his bed facing tingyu's sleeping form in chapter 1? the bookstore and the restaurant in chapter 2? simply gorgeous! (also may i. humbly recommend park jiyeon's works, of wolf in the house, momentum, and incidentally dyed by spring's love fame, if you are looking for atmospheric works - momentum and incidentally dyed by spring's love specifically :) )
anyways, the melancholic yearning just seeps out of the pages... there's such a cinematic quality to this piece of work, most likely because there are so many scenes drawn here that look like they could be cinematography shots with excellent and deliberate mise-en-scene. even though it's only 3 chapters in, i can already picture the wong kar wai dreamy haziness this would have if it ever gets adapted onto the silver screen in my perfect vision.
the restraint in the writing accompanied by just how expressive the art is really helps communicate to the readers the heart of the emotions that the characters feel in such a gutwrenching way - even though only snippets and afterthoughts of what the characters are thinking and feeling are actually put into words, the loneliness, the yearning, the sadness, the longing... the DISTANCE that the characters feel, it's all captured in such a painfully exquisite manner through the art in a way that makes you feel it so acutely too. once you notice it, you just can't help but be constantly aware of the space that lingers in between akki and tingyu. the distance between them is never really all that far apart, but it also never really gets closed or goes away either - moments where they close the distance happen few and far between, sometimes even in split-seconds, and there's always a retracting happening, always superseded by a moment that emphasizes the distance afterwards. this space isn't just felt through the writing of the characters' relationship, it's also driven home by the art during really atmospheric moments, moments that would leave the most impact on the reader. moments i mentioned in the earlier paragraph actually - all of them had akki and tingyu drawn with space between them. the distance is just so emblematic of akki and tingyu's relationship, of a closeted gay japanese man living in japan, and his chinese former-exchange student best friend who can only fly into japan from china for a week once a year because he has to take care of his sick family member back home. as a reader, all of this culminates into this really bittersweet feeling that ebbs and flows like waves on the beach :")
all in all... absolutely no notes from me. it's sublime. it's exquisite. it's a work that really utilizes the medium of the manga, a storytelling medium combining art and writing, in the most ideal way for me. perfect execution, 10/10, tingyu the mega malewife and akki the yearner supreme you will be sticking around in my mind.

to repeat myself... this was a pleasant surprise. was not expecting this level of depth and potential for a villainess manga with a yuri flourish. it may very well be #peak contender.
very much loved all the emphasis and reminders of reshutoka's feral qualities. every time the story lures us into a false sense of security and makes us think she's actually just a cute wolfgirl devoted to her princess, the rug gets pulled out under us and shows us what she really is - not just a human, but also a wild animal. a predator at that. and so far consistently each time moments like that happen, the art never fails to have her wolflike traits - the elongated fangs, the sharp claws, the slitted pupils - be very visible in the reader's view. the scene where she's just scarfing down a whole raw slab of meat with her canines protruding, long ass nails out, freaked-ouy pupils, the trail of DROOL down her chin... phenomenal. really drives home the fact that karina isn't dealing with a mere human here, she's dealing with a wild predator. and you know what happens when you try to domesticate wild animals (nope [2022] dir. by jordan peele my beloved)
it's been very enjoyable to see karina trying to navigate this relationship with reshutoka so far, one akin to a mutual symbiosis with a predator-prey tinge overlooming it as opposed to a relationship based on strong mutual trust borne from getting to know each other wholly. it was fun and interesting seeing her have to do this while juggling between strategizing how to best exploit this relationship for her own gains and struggling with her actual desires from deep within when faced with the revelation(?)/presumption(?) that reshutoka only sees her as this "ideal princess".
also i like how karina has actual strong self-respect and self-resolve, and that she lashes out and does things bordering on cruel - well, maybe it is JUST cruel - which should be what's par for the course for media starring proclaimed "villainesses". give me more manipulation lying controlling possessive vengeful #gaslightgatekeepgirlboss behaviour PLEASE!
anw hope the writing can keep it up without falling flat on its face. i'd love for the story to lean in more towards the whole wild animal, predator-and-prey, use-me-and-i-use-you fucked-upness baked into their dynamic but i also don't mind if they go the building mutual trust and affection after getting to know each other's true authentic selves route.

although to be completely honest, i'm only half-seated for this so far. granted it has only been 4 chapters, but i better see some male victims soom too so i'm not just sitting through a string of brutalized teenage high school girls.
on a lighter note, i do quite like uzu and sakura's dynamic. and i like uzu Period.
on an even lighter note, girl idk how they're all fighting and surviving over there i have a virtually non-existent intrinsic self-driven motivation to live so i truly cannot relate. if i had to grow up in a scary ass town that's legitimately cursed AND i have to grow up with a stupid ass name like Killyourself smith per tradition, brother no god given miracle is gonna stop me from just straight jorking it (offing myself by middle school the LATEST)
they're so continuously cute ohhh my heart...
