Wait, I'm confused. Wouldn't he always have been first rank considering his parents are rich and powerful and the school wants to suck up to them? so wouldn't the school have been already manipulating his grades? Why would they just make him 1st rank now? If his grades were lower previously, I doubt he would get into a good richy-rich university(like SKY for example) after, which wouldn't make his parents ofc.
I feel so bad for our MC. Imagine spending all your time studying, even sacrificing your health and mental-wellbeing(from lack of sleep/stress) all for you to not get the scores you want...especially when you are so dependent on them for your future...
