already absolutely disgusted how they treat it as so normal to decide over another human beings life and happiness without EVER even recognising how unhappy and unwilling she is. Didn't mean he wanted us to become something specific or go to uni or something, just to do graduate high school and then either go to uni or get an apprenticeship and then have our own money that only belongs to us so that we won't ever be dependent on any man. he is for an equal relationship. and if any dude came like that "best friend" he would have said to his face "sorry my friend, but i didn't fpick up my daughter on some shabby streets (turkish saying meaning something like, she is not some second hand trash to recycle) to give her to some man she didn't chose herself just because you want to see your own child not lonely after you leave.if it is destined, they will find each other. don't ask me to do that to my own daughter as a father please." etc. etc. gosh really.....also if i was her, i would just stay there until i am 18 and done with high school, and behind the back of that dad apply and arrange everything to go to uni in another city with dorm and shit and then on the day i graduate arrange it so that i slowly brought all the stuff i need with me to some locker at the train station and then after school just run to the train station, pick up my stuff and leave that fucked up house. then send a letter or sms to that bastards of a father explaining what i am doing and that you are 18 now and he can not legally tell you what to do anymore and that you want him to respect your choices about YOUR OWN LIFE and if he doesn't want to then sadly it means that your relationship will end there and you give up your role as a daughter now as you cannot be a daughter to a father who forgot his responsibilities and duties as a FATHER for a DAUGHTER. i feel like so many kids seem like they are Stockholm syndrome prisoners to their own parents, they are already free and can just live freely, but chose to mentally be imprisoned by the ideas and demands of their own parents as if they will die if they don't get acknowledges by shit parents. grow some self awareness and start taking responsibility over your own life for gods sake. don't dump it on your parents. if you do, you already sold your self cheap and have no right to complain what they do with the life you just dumped onto them to decide over...like wtf. gosh this made me so angry.......i hope that fucking wanna be of a father wakes up soon or gets some kind of reality check for real.....disgustiiiiiiiing

I really love this manga. I genuinely like both of their characters.
And yeah…the thing that I didn’t like was their parents.
Nishiki’s father has such an old-fashioned mindset.
Even when his daughter told him about her dream, he just crushed her hopes by saying she wouldn’t be able to do it and that it was too far out of reach.
Her mother was also passive—she didn’t try to help at all, even though she wasn’t that bad.
Even though her father supposedly had good intentions, in my opinion, every word he said was belittling toward Nishiki.
He was kind to other people’s children but never thought about his own daughter’s happiness.
He just wanted to impose his own ideals on her—things he couldn’t achieve himself as a child.
And Atsumori’s parents were just as bad.
His mother was annoying too.
In chapter 25, when she said the reason Atsumori married Nishiki so quickly was because she fainted and Atsumori was worried—that felt strange to me.
It wasn’t even shown in a way that let the readers actually feel that emotion.
And Atsumori’s father—even though we eventually find out that he had good intentions, he was still terrible at expressing himself.
His words to Nishiki and Atsumori reflected that he wasn’t an educated or considerate person at all.
He was supposed to be a doctor and someone respectable, but in my opinion, he lacked morals.
Was he just incapable of thinking critically when it came to his family or his own child?
