The MC has always liked the ML because the ML found him at his lowest point. After his grandma’s death/funeral, the MC realized he loved the ML and felt indebted to him, so he wanted to keep working with him. That’s also why the ML was upset about the MC ghosting him in high school because the ML was abroad while the MC was working full-time and doing night shifts to pay for his grandma’s bills. They were supposed to meet each other during graduation because thats when the ml was coming back from abroad but mc decided to skip graduation to work.
They only met again because the MC saw a billboard of the ML and fate basically threw them together. The ML happened to be there too, grabbed him, and boom asked the MC to be his manager so he could help with the grandma’s hospital bills. And after the grandma died, that’s when the MC finally understood his feelings.
The ML always kinda liked him too, because the MC never crossed boundaries, and that’s why the ML was so upset when he got ghosted. But honestly, the thing that pissed me off the most was the amount of misunderstandings. Like SO many misunderstandings.
They don’t communicate, they keep their feelings to themselves because of pride, and it gets frustrating. It’s not a slow burn either like the ML flirts with the MC, but both of them are too dumb to realize they like each other, so nothing happens.
There were so many conflicts, and every single one was caused by misunderstandings. It was so annoying because they could’ve chosen better, more meaningful conflicts instead of overusing that trope. Overall its okay but its not like the best.

Just finished the novel, and I can confidently say Yuri and Xinlu are my favorite couple way more than the main one.
I love seeing Xinlu’s character development. At the start, he was such a jerk to Yuri, always venting his frustration and anger on everyone around him. But because of Yuri, he’s learned to calm himself down and actually reflect on his actions.
I do have to point out that xinlu acted the way he did in the beginning because no one around him truly supported or understood him. Even Taeui, who he thought loved him, didn’t feel the same anymore. He was literally beaten nearly to death by Ilay and lost sight in one eye something he’ll never recover from. He was at his lowest point, and Yuri was the one who saved him.
Yuri’s love for Xinlu is so patient and unconditional. He never demands anything and just waits, even without knowing exactly what he’s waiting for. He’s gentle and caring, and even when he’s hurt, he somehow turns something painful into something good. He never once rushed Xinlu. It’s just so fucking good. I swear I’m trying not to glaze, but it’s genuinely that good like their chemistry is unreal.
Yuri is exactly the kind of person Xinlu needed someone who can handle him but also reassure him. The way Xinlu treated him in the beginning compared to now is such a huge contrast. Their relationship feels so raw and real. Even though there are moments between them that are questionable, I still love their chemistry way more than the main couple’s. You can genuinely see why they fell for each other.

xinlu was forced to be violent like torture a worker because of like debt or something by his uncle, and it happens that Yuri witnessed it all, and he thought Yuri would leave him. He begged, cried so hard that time.

Bruh this pmo so bad. I truly don't understand the point of Nathaniel when all he does is give more misunderstanding to the main couple. Like why even have him here? Even if he didn’t love the ML, the fact that the ML straight up humiliated him in front of people while knowing they’re married is just gross. There are a hundreds ways to push the ML and MC closer without relying on Nathaniel as the drama tool.
