remember not to victim blame azusa,, he who looked up to and admired alto for a decade has placed that trust accumulated over ten years in alto as a lover yet... alto still choose to manipulate him knowing that azusa would want to stay in a relationship regardless of what alto did... the last part where azusa “forgives” alto really felt like azusa was coping with the trauma by rewriting that horrid act into something pleasant that was done out of “love”

another amazing manga by ogawa sensei... this manga hovers between the boundaries of allegorical and dark fantasy. it’s either the terror of being unable to escape from the rapist that makes everything inside this hyperbolic (eg. narration) or it could be true—that the rapist is an actual demon as seen through by it talking to the crow (that disappeared by the way so maybe the crow stands for death by the rapist hands or something)

updated my theory: so taehwan has a trauma from being bullied at the boarding school—you know the sexualisation of asian men and that whites like to say we have small dicks or whatever? taehwan being one of the few (probably) asians in that school was probably picked on using that excuse or/and that he was too feminine for some reason. or! everyone said that he was gay for some unknown reason regardless of whether he actually was (the horror,,, maybe calling slurs & aggravated the bullying)
thus, as an impressionable young boy, knowing the consequence of being associated with the word gay, taehwan started associating being gay to being filthy. his internal homophobia is off the charts too,, yeonwu seeing him kissing the girl could be evidence that taehwan’s bi or it could be him forcing himself to protect himself from rumours etc.
oh ++ adding to that, taehwan could have been sexually harassed or, at worst, assaulted; which is why he reacted so strongly when yeonwu kissed him in his sleep (which is noncon btw).
tldr: taehwan trauma therefore he’s particularly prickly about consent + the explanation for his internal homophobia
ALSO POWER BOTTOM YEONWU TOP YEONWU SERVICE TOP TAEHWAN

let’s push the genre-bending to the max. so they said that mc was transported to this world and is now living the life of a romance novel main lead? what an isekai setting,,, but that’s probably all planned.
the changing of the novel’s genre from romance to apocalypse & survival horror is all deliberate. think about it, we know virtually nothing about mc’s past life outside of the romance novel except the very bare details to establish the isekai aspect, and, the fact that the in world online romance novel that mc keeps consulting stays the same is probably a hint like that’s all set up for the plot to change; for mc to think that somehow, the romance novel has gone haywire because of her. that when you add her, the isekai-ed mc, the outlandish element, the romance novel will therefore change.
also the shadow characters: they were mere blobs in the romance novel setting but now they have found their true route/worth, they become distinguishable.
// idk maybe this is incomprehensible and the sleep deprivation is talking crap but if it’s this meta i’ll enjoy it wwwww
please update this, it's completed
