this was a really really wonderful story. the way they approached bisexuality, coming out, consent, and the consequences (trauma) of being/encountering a homophobic environment... great. it felt like this was directed to queer people by a queer person, or at least an ally that has read up and talked with extensively to their queer friends. i did like how them being cousins made a slightly more complicated relationship though it was strange because the incest being a plot device for conflict/as an obstacle wasn’t even emphasised that much nor did it really matter in the long run. we can take it, of course, as something that just doesn’t mean that much though.
so that aspect felt a bit strange because certainly, you can do without incest? not that i have any qualms with reading/consuming works that feature incest but i suppose this is another one of those contemplations on love things?
gods,,, i love this so much!! like the queerplatonic relationships, the exploring of one’s sexuality and coming to terms with it + growing together, the happiness we readers experience with them, the communication!! gods.,,,
