That Javier’s reaction was too mild here where MC literally couldve died considering his past reactions. He was way too focus on his crush despite his vow to protect his master, where he ‘kinda’ failed to fulfil here. Dont get me wrong I dont have anything against his crush its just there was nooo development at all for their romance. Unlike MC and Empress, we could see their relationship progress bit by bit. But Javier and his crush felt forced, like its just a condition required to follow the ‘original plot’. So him prioritising the girl instead of MC here made no sense to me.
You are right in saying so but you can also consider the idea of complacency like imagine Llyod succeeding everytime and Javier knowing all this while he has succeeded...maybe he just think oh wells hes going to succeed anyways...might as wells start my relationship arc haha
