The fifth prince hasn’t shown up for a really long time now. The mc’s backstory is also a little confusing. Was she an orphan in this life or in her previous life? We get like a few chapters of her backstory for both of her lives. Also, at the beginning, who was she going to assassinate? Why was she relaxing on the beach? How did she obtain the treasure? I feel like lots of things are introduced into this story that could’ve had a lot of potential but they’re just never used. This story is pretty good but I think that it could be much more interesting if the author had done better with the plot and details.

she's an orphan in both life, although she has her grandfather when she got reincarnated, she's alone from the start of her infant days in modern world. That someone with cape over their head from the start wasn't her, it's also another assassination group targeting her, as for the reason why she's relaxing and how did she manage to obtain the treasure, I think it's just a speed up chapter where you can fulfill it with your own imagination like maybe the beach vacation was a reward for herself for obtaining the treasure and the treasure she obtain was from the old man who offered a 80 million.

I like how every few chapters the mc’s mind goes all sangwoo and she envisions somehow brutally murdering the prince. It’s kinda refreshing after seeing the mc smile a bunch.

I love that she didn't immediately forgive him for all he did to her and is instead slowly realizing he's literally not the same person he was before and that if she continues down this path you will likely never be that person
AAAAnd the authors even doing this right like in other mangas with this type of plot the MC is just so freaking whiny and unbearable but like this one :)

But we're not just talking about actions here we're talking about his entire personality, his morals, how he sees himself and how other see him from the ground up. We're not talking about him just turning over a new leaf in this case that leaf never even existed in the first place.
Ex: a man was killed after he killed the father of his murderer. Last man will go back in time to win his murderer was literally a child and stopped himself from killing his murderers father. What this did was prevent his murderer from going through the the same emotional and mental trama/torment causing his character to need no reason to do a shift to fit his goal which is? To kill the guy who killed his father. From then on he was just a normal kid who didn't watch his father die and had no reason to become mad with the idea of revenge but instead he grew up to be a doctor, a loving husband and father, someone who saves people and is Loved.
Comparing their situation to one of a r@pe victim simply preventing a Rape isn't and would never be accurate. Hopefully

I finished a lot of the novel, feel free to ask for spoilers :)

To sum it up (big spoilers ahead)
Lucio gradually starts to lose his feelings for Rosemond. He tells Trizia that his feelings for Rosemond weren’t really love, he was just lonely and needed comforting from his past trauma. Rosemond was raped by her brother when she was younger, so she used this to pretend to understand Lucio (when she really didn’t). At the emperor’s birthday banquet, Rosemond tries to swap Trizia’s gift of flowers to talk op with a type of flowers that the emperor hated (bc Alyssa used to adore them and planted them everywhere). At the last second, Patricillia (forgot her name lol but she’s the empress’s sister) gets different flowers. Rosemond gets in some argument with Trizia, and for the first time ever, Lucio takes Trizia’s side. Rosemond is extremely angry and loses her cool. She lashes out at Lucio, telling him that she never loved him.
Around this time, Trizia finds out she’s infertile, because Rosemond brought up that his majesty should have a mistress to have an imperial heir. Trizia feels extremely betrayed and hates Lucio even more. Trizia sends roses and a nice smelling perfume to Rosemond. Rosemond thought Trizia was giving up and accepted the gifts. She sprayed the perfume on daily because she liked the scent.
Rosemond is allied with Duke Eferni because she found out his weaknesses. Basically, Duke Eferni used to be the son of a baron, and Duchess Eferni was the one who had the noble Eferni bloodline. The duchess was drugged many years ago by the Duke, and she slept with him and got his child, which forced her into marrying the Duke. The duchess didn’t know this because she thought she willingly chose the Duke after she got drunk on alcohol because the Duke told her this the morning after their first night. The duke’s second weakness is that he worsened the hatred of Alyssa against Janet, which led to Janet’s death. With his weakness, Rosemond forces the Duke to adopt her, and Rosemond because Rosemond Eferni. The Duke has a mistress named January and they had a son together. January is plotting with Rosemond because she wants to become the duchess. They communicate through letters.
Trizia visits her estate for a day. On her way back, at night, her carriage is attacked by assassins. Trizia’s knight gets badly injured before reinforcements arrived. Trizia knows that this was the doing of Rosemond, and harms herself with a dagger so that she could use her injuries against Rosemond. The assassins suicide, so they can’t make testimonies. However, Trizia gets fakes to make testimonies, and uses them against Rosemond. Rosemond tries to get help from Duke Eferni but the guards don’t allow her in. A while before, Duchess Eferni went aboard to see her sickening son. The son died. Rosemond uses the excuse of the death of a family member to get out of prison. At the funeral, Rosemond tries to communicate with January, but January doesn’t want to be associated with Rosemond anymore. Rosemond goes back to prison knowing that she’s screwed. A while later, Trizia comes in, which was sort of like her victory. She tells Rosemond that Rosemond is actually just like her, because she too is infertile, which was from the perfume that contained infertility flowers. The next day Rosemond is executed.
After this it’s just Lucio trying his best to get with Trizia. Lucio fell in love and he constantly begged Trizia for nothing more than to accept his feelings. After Rosemond’s execution, Trizia tells Lucio that she wants to step down from being the empress, and leave the palace. Lucio is really, really, really affected by this. He starts crying and begs Trizia to not go. Trizia doesn’t listen. However, after realizing that there was no proper way to dethrone an empress without a crime, she realized she had to stay. Lucio tried his best to get Trizia to stay.
Trizia is sort of caving in, and at some point, she can’t differentiate between her feelings of compassion and love for Lucio anymore. Lucio had a difficult past, with Alyssa forcing him to kill Janet, and Trizia cried hearing about it. One night, Lucio has another episode, and Trizia went into Lucio’s room to ease him. Lucio doesnt want Trizia to see his ugly side and pushes her, but seeing Trizia falling, rushes over and catches her. Trizia is angered and attempts to leave but Lucio apologizes and his sincerity wins Trizia over. Trizia quickly pulls Lucio in and kisses him. Lucio is overjoyed. They do the ***. Trizia tells Lucio that she can’t differentiate between her feelings of love and hate anymore. Lucio tells Trizia he really loves her and all he wants is for her to accept his confession. Trizia is like ok.
Lucio is constantly trying to do anything he can to atone for what he did to Trizia. He learns how to bake so he can bake Trizia’s favorite sweets, and sends them over every day. Trizia refused to eat them at first but later accepted it.
It’s around this time that Petronila encounters Rothesay, the son of a count. They met when they carriages collided. Rothesay falls in love at first sight with Petronila. He goes to a big ball in order to find her. Petronila, at the ball, accidentally spills wine on her dress. Rothesay notices Petronila and immediately goes over to help her. He tries his best to talk to her and tells her that as a gentleman, he will assist her and will pay for the dress. Rothesay also asks for a dance. After a lot of pleading, Petronila reluctantly accepts. However, there’s a commotion later, and Petronila forgets about the dance.
Rothesay visits Petronilla’s home, and convinced her to go on a date with him because she forgot about the dance. Petronila recalled her past life and didn’t want to fall in love with anyone. After getting to know Rothesay, she falls in love with him. Rothesay proposes to her at the empress’ birthday banquet. Happily ever after.
The nobles are pressing Lucio to take in a concubine so that there can be an imperial heir. Lucio keeps refusing because he doesn’t want to have any woman other than Trizia. However, Trizia forces Lucio to get a concubine. Lucio doesnt want to but agrees. A concubine comes. After a month or so, she says something rude about Trizia, and Lucio gets really mad and gets rid of the concubine. Trizia finds out that she was fertile after all, and she is also pregnant. She goes to Lucio and jumps onto him in happiness. Trizia gives birth to a son. A few years later, she has triplet daughters. Lucio is really happy getting daughters because they look like Trizia. He wished that the daughters would love him more and become “daddy’s girls” (idk how else to say it lol). Unfortunately all four of the children like Trizia more and want to get married to Trizia. The later part is basically just a whole ton of fluff.
Side stories!!!
In their past life, Rosemond ascended to the empress position. However, Lorraine, a lady in waiting of Rosemond and the adopted daughter of Duke Witherford, plots against Rosemond. Duke Witherford had organized a coup de tat, and many nobles were on his side. They wanted to overthrow the emperor, who was out of his mind, marrying the daughter of a Baron, and executing innocent people (Petronilla and her family). Lorraine finds out that Rosemond never had a miscarriage because she was never pregnant. She uses this information and has maids testify this. Rosemond is dethroned and sent to be executed. Rosemond attempts to get out of her situation. She lured in Lucio, and Lucio sleeps with her. This is because under the law, women who carry an imperial heir cannot be killed. Rosemond tried to get pregnant so she won’t be executed. She gets symptoms of pregnancy like morning sickness. On the day of Rosemond’s execution, Rosemond reveals to everyone that she’s pregnant with the imperial heir. A doctor comes and examines her, but she isn’t pregnant. Rosemond is shocked. More doctors come, and they conclude that Rosemond had a phantom pregnancy. Rosemond dies.
