Ok, so this is my take on the story:
Alex kills his lovers when he feels that their love is mutual but they are trying to get away. He watched his loved ones walk away from him all his childhood and was powerless to change it. So by killing them and making it impossible for them to walk away forever he fells powerful and satisfies that urge.

The first one had a really good relationship with her family and friends, and had a trip scheduled. The second one was getting married to someone else. The third one wasn't so clear, but I'm guessing his hot and cold tendencies had him killed.

Clark is a sociopath who takes pleasure in manipulating people and studying the dark side of humans. Probably because he himself is far from normal in spite of what he believes. That ring leads me to believe that he might actually have feeling of some kind for the Doctor. Even if it's just affection, that's more than anybody else in his life got from him by the looks of it. Another evidence is that he is going all out to make sure Alex falls for him and leaves his Doctor alone. He is risking his life for him!

I have no idea where this is going. But my guess is that Alex is gonna grow more and more obsessed. He knows Clark is only playing him. And he is going after the other men in Clark's life.

I feel like the Chief of Police will be the first. Alex will see them together on the next chapter, and maybe even recognize his voice from that one phone call. And maybe that will trigger his downfall. Maybe the Congressman will use his power to avenge his son.

The Doctor though... He is even more in danger. He is the only one in Clark's frozen heart. And it would be so easy, with him being in love with Alex. I don't think he will be killed fast. I think Alex will threaten him to keep Clark to himself. I hope the Doctor realizes the situation they are in soon though. Otherwise he will really end up dead.

Sorry for the long rant. This story is really good! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

    I get that feeling too.

But Alex knows that Clark is only playing with him, it is a mutual using of the other. Only, Alex is falling in love but Clark isn't and he knows that.

But this conflict within Alex is having him change his targets. Before he only killed his lovers but now he seems to want to take out others close to Alex.

But I think if Alex does that, then Clark might kill Alex.

The ring might change things. But not sure how. Maybe a focus on the doctor? Will he seduced the doctor? Fuck him?

    I don't know.

Btw, I love the little things that aren't in the novel. All the extra screen time the B Team got made us even more angry at the High Orc Great Sorcerer and the eventual massacre that much more satisfying. I love how the made sure to include a mage with a summoning ability in the party. His comments about how 2 summons is his limit makes Jiwoo's shadow army look even more ridiculous and OP. And the other mage thinking that Jiwoo must be looking down on them to think they would't notice his stealth was unexpected and made them seem more competent. We all know that the MC is OP, but giving the spotlight to the side characters like this really puts things in perspective.

How is this so good?! The pacing, the framing, the art, the character designs... I'm in awe! (☆▽☆)
I've seen some people here complaining about the pacing, but once you reread it you'll realize that it's perfect. The build up creates hype and the action scenes never disappoint. It's just that the chapters are kind of short for that. But considering the quality of each new chapter I think it makes sense they are shorter. I mean, did you see that art?! The level of detail in each scene is incredible! And the character designs...!!! Holy shit! In this last chapter alone, the high orcs all have different hairstyles and tattoos. And the 4 high orc guards...!! Each have a distinct appearance. It's just too amazing.

OMFG, I HATE THE PRINCE SO MUCH!
I get it, ok? He is a kid now, so he can't be blamed for his future self's crimes. But it's so fucking obvious that she is scared of him AND HE KEEPS PUSHING HER! LEAVE HER ALONE, GODDAMMIT! And after he fucks up so bad she ended up in a vegetative state HE STILL DARED TO READ HER LETTERS! IT'S HER PRIVACY YOU ARE INVADING YOU ASSHOLE! Sure, you are royalty and all that, but that doesn't give you the right to do whatever you want! She is not only a noble, but your fiancée! Show some respect!
Sorry for the rant. I swear I'm usually more rational than this. But this last chapters just made me so anxious and angry!

    an idiot May 18, 2019 12:14 pm

I haven't fully read you're comment but from what I've read, yes. It is obvious that she is scared of him but he's oblivious to that. He can't see it BECAUSE she avoids him and he doesn't pay that much attention to her in such manner. And yeah no, I can agree with the letter reading. He's an asshole for that. I understand you're but a child and you worry for her but that isn't helping bruh.

Holly shit. I didn't expect the boss room to be that big! (っ°Д °;)っ That's gonna be one hell of an epic fight!

Aki April 28, 2019 3:30 am

I know it's plot convenience and all, but for such a powerful and seasoned guild, Hunters' Guild management is really stupid. You have 2 A-ranked gates and 2 S-ranked hunters. SEND ONE TO EACH GATE! Didn't they say that even for a party of A-ranked hunters only would still be hard to clear a A-ranked gate?! Then why risk it?!

Shouldn't "Strongest soldier" Guild Master Choi be able to handle one on his own with a proper party to back him up? Cha Hae-in is even stronger, she could definitely handle it on her own! Was Guild Master Choi afraid for his life or something?!

I'd understand doing that if they only had 1 S-ranked hunter, with normal hunters having to rest between gates (unlike our adrenaline junkie MC). But they have 2 - which is likely the only reason why the Association allowed them to clear 2 A-ranked gates with only a few hours between them. It's too dangerous otherwise! The B team should stick to B-ranked gates! ヽ(`Д´)ノ

    Vort April 29, 2019 1:16 am

On one hand, you're absolutely right, they could and SHOULD divide up their S-Rank power, or have them run double duty. On the other hand, plot device! ;)

    RubySama May 1, 2019 10:25 pm

In the novel it’s said that S-rank hunters tend to do whatever they want since no one can truly force them to do anything. In the novel most of them are just in it for the money or the power, and aren’t interested in anything lower than an S-rank gate.

    Ringo May 2, 2019 1:05 am

I think they distribute their teams based on the magic level emitted by the gates. It has worked well for them so far and they probably had no casualties so they kept it that way. However, recent gates are irregular due to reasons that will be explained later in the manhwa, so it's just due to bad luck, really, not poor planning. Also, Hunters' Guild doesn't have just 1 to 2 gates at a time, they booked a lot of gates so they have to distribute teams in a more efficient way.

@RubySama based on the novel, I think S-rank hunters in korea are responsible people who would never wish for an S-rank gate due to Jeju Island incident. A country that has lost a lot, had turned arrogant s-rank hunters into humble ones

You can attempt to shoe-horn just about any logic to attempt to explain an illogical situation, but the only real answer is that the author did it so the plot could go forward. Tell yourself whatever else you want to make yourself comfortable with it, whether they are responsible hunters or distribute their power, that's up to you. The truth is that it's a work of fiction and the author needed the plot to go forward.

Geez sure, you do you, whatever. Regardless of whether or not it's plot convenience, the gate having irregular magic levels due to a reason explained in the novel is true. In the first place, Aki already said it's a plot convenience, and I get his/her point so I just tried to make another point, what's so wrong with that. What you just said is very redundant and extremely unnecessary to me, there's no need to be so aggressive.
*sigh* one attempt on finding relief by throwing myself in a work of fiction is dampened because people just cant let other people be happy huh

I know, but as we've seen already with the White Tiger Guild, the Guild Master is still responsible for the guild members and it's a blow to their fame and resources if their recruits die. And I read the novel too btw.

I know that the power level of the second gate was a little lower due to the high orc boss hiding his power. But my frustration comes from the fact that we saw in the manhwa that Guildmaster Choi pretty much handled the gate on his own, so it feels like a unnecessary risk to send the B team without support to the second gate, even if the level seemed lower. True, the guild has to manage many gates, but from what the characters implied these 2 were the most dangerous ones, which is why both the MC and the mining team were surprised and proud, respectively, when they heard that the B team was handling the "smaller" one.

True, at the end of the day is the author's choices that matter. But I believe that the main characteristic of a good fantasy setting is that the plot must obey the rules set by the author. It's a very difficult standard to achieve, but doing so it's what makes it believable. Fiction implies suspension of disbelief, but that has limits. If the author says that A works like B, they can't later decide that A works like C without a very good reason.

Anyway, my point is that yes, at the end of the day it was the author's choices. But the point of reading fictional works is to immerse oneself in these crazy worlds, play by their rules and forget reality for a while. The fact that we can have discussions like this one shows that Solo Leveling is a good work. So just let people have fun, ok? ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

See @Vort, this ^ is an example of a decent reply with reasoning that matches the effort of previous commenter, without being condescending. We all know it's a work of fiction, but that doesn't mean we're not allowed to discuss the logic behind the plot. You don't have to act like you're the only one with awareness.

Aki April 28, 2019 2:10 am

The Demon King is so cute! I love how we can already tell he is interested on her and his little bouts of jealousy.

And MC has such a refreshing personality! I love that her personality didn't change 180º once she became aware that she is living in a game world. She has always been a no bullshit kind of person, always going forward no matter what. And that can come off as arrogant and overbearing, which made other people dislike her.

But I'm disappointed that the heroine seems to be the evil one. I'd rather if she was nice but elitist like the prince seems to be. But oh, well. Let's see where this goes.

Aki April 18, 2019 4:16 am

As long as she stays away from the creepy Queen and close to either Emiel or her dad she should be fine.
