In this case, there was only one person that he wanted attention from, sprinkle growing up in love with your best friend drama. Idk I think friends keeping secret crushes on each other in their teen years is normal. And also gay boys are allowed to be dramatic, since the world itself raises everyone to have internalized isms.

For sure the top doesn’t even know what wrong with himself, probably thinks he has a sociopathic tendencies, but it looks more like a Borderline personality disorder, he sees the bottom as an extension of himself, hence the desire to control, so really the conflict of this series lies in the fact that the bottom has no idea how dependent the top is.
